7  TS2: Burnination / Peasantry / Re: Tutorial: Extracting the game MP3's on: 2009 January 10, 09:56:03
Well, messing up the game is fun indeed, but this tutorial is only for extracting the Simlish songs and tunes of TS2, I also tried, and you can repack tunes.

Thanks, yes, I did copied what I wrote there.

sloppyhousewife:
I think that you can replace the sims sounds, but there are alot of them and  I dont suggest you messing up the sims sounds, unless you backup the original files.
10  TS2: Burnination / Peasantry / Tutorial: Extracting the game MP3's on: 2009 January 09, 16:03:34
Hey, I wrote this tutorial in InSIMenator, since it got screwed, I'll post it here.

Tools you will need:
SimPE

Part one - Finding the wanted soundtrack(s):

The game and its expansions each have a folder that holds packages of sounds, sim voices, special effects and more.

The folder mostly on this route: X:\Program Files\EA GAMES\The Sims 2 ANY EXPANSION NAME\TSData\Res\Sound while the X's are for the drive where you installed the game.

The folder hold files like Voice1, Voice2 and on, and Misc and more, do not touch these, you dont want the sim sounds, we want music tracks, the different stations named files like Pop, Metal, Salsa... or the CAS, Build mode and Buy mode music.
If its an expansion it most likely will not have all the stations, only tracks added to the game represnet there.

Part two - Extracting the MP3(s):

Well, thats the second and last part (few, that was very long!) first, open SimPE by either double clicking on the file on the sound folder or browsering the file in SimPE.

Lets say you want Natasha Bedingfield's Pocketful Of Sunshine in Simlish from FreeTime, we need to open the file Pop.package in the sound folder of FreeTime, by highlighting it you will have the option to extract it, save the file somewhere and you will get an MP3 file and a XML file, you only need the MP3, you can use the XML later if we want to package few MP3's together.

MP3 Packaging Information:

Its not required for you to read it, you can read it if you want to know more about this subject.
To repackage few soundtracks or one sound track right click the resource list and you will have the option to add, add the wanted XML file, save it somewhere and your done.

I hope this tutorial helped you, I feel quite unawesome for posting it here, but I did it anyway Cheesy

12  TS2: Burnination / Peasantry / Re: CS Stove, Careers, and More! - New Jungle Swing 09/10/08 on: 2009 January 09, 09:48:53
Cool, did you also extracted the outfits? or you have any download link for them?
13  TS2: Burnination / Peasantry / Re: Decostumized and Updated Exchange and Other Maxis Stuff - (Updated 2009/01/02) on: 2009 January 09, 09:01:02
Thanks for that, but I dont really want the sims and their outfits nor makeup, I just want the hair (why do they keep making hairs and not putting them in the game? the basegame and the expansions have serious lack of hairs), how can I seperate the package to hair only?

By the way, the Kurt sim hair is a stolen hair from OFB  Undecided
14  Darcyland / Lord Darcy Investigates / Re: Decustomized and Updated Maxis Official Objects/Clothing (Updated 2008-10-10) on: 2009 January 08, 07:46:33
Thank you Lord Darcy, I've seen you're work around MTS2, there are much more useful stuff here  Grin
I want to change the icon of an item, not made by you actually, it was made by Argon, I want to change the pets icon on one hair he decustomized, can you give me a short guide about just making the hair to be 'included' in... Apartment Life bins? or whatever they called? (sorry for the offtopicness)  Cheesy

Woops, I'm so stupid, Richief just gave a link to a tutorial of some kind, sorry.

Hey there Wink

I'm making some zombie maxis matching outfits, I know that Castaways Stories had some ripped underwear textures, I need the underwear textures, fast! just textures (in a .rar or whatever, just extract them and put them here) thanks in advance!
16  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: Apartment Life Borkiness, or how i ended the world in 1 hour. on: 2008 September 20, 15:40:51
Well, I didnt got any monsterus bugs... but the whole expansion pack is lame! I mean, the concept is good, but the gameplay sucks! dissapering poor toy dogs, grand witches spam on community lots, extremely useless Belladonna cove, if it really was their last expansion, they should have paid more attention to it! those darn bi**hes from EAxis!
17  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: Character Portraits on: 2008 September 20, 15:24:02
I hate that stupid "new" feature, every one minute the pose change, cant they just have done it like the PS2 game that their portratits were animated...
18  TS2: Burnination / Peasantry / Re: TS2 Store Stuff on: 2008 September 13, 19:34:48
