TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: The Sims Medieval

^I have the patch installed with the non-updated crack, so I think it's fine.
I did crash once, and my options refuses to open. But other then that, it's seemingly alright.
Same here. Crashes alot and no options since patching. Don't know if it's a patch-fault or unupdated crack-fault... edit: found updated crack and everything seems to work fine now.

TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: THE HORROR: The REAL TS3 Scoop As It Unfolds

I played it for some hours, and while I have no issues with the sims, or the gameplay, I do have some concerns regarding the graphics. I have an nvidia 8600 videocard with 512 mb memory and inspite of the fact that all settings were on high and gameplay was smooth, the textures look very blurry and pixelated, especially on close-ups. Even the sims's skins. Also, I noticed that from a normal play camera height, texture details go missing. I made a sim with red and white polka dots shoes and the dots were visible only when I viewed them in extreme close-up. I also have an issue with the dark shadows on the objects. I tried to make *white* towels but the result was more like dirty white towels. And the same thing happened with the curtains, the bedsheets, the leather couch that's also in sims2. And the indoors lightning seems to suffer from the same drawback as the radiance lightning mod for sims2. The objects near the light source glow and appear overexposed while those a few squares away are very dark. Maybe I don't play enough games to make a reasonable comparison of what is realistically achievable in terms of technology, but I find these issues very annoying, especially when we had very beautiful clean textures in Sims2 and the lightning was good even though it was not realistic. Maybe it's an issue with my card, or maybe it's just the way the game renders objects. But if that's the case I don't think it should render objects with lower quality when you're inside the lot. It's very annoying because things seem hazy.
Just wanted to say that I have the same card and the same problem with grey textures that should be white... dunno if it's the game or the card though that does it... but I guess on the game.

TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Technical problems with THE HORROR: downloading, installing, and running it

Okay, it's P&L at phyllis time (suddenly I have an image of a dancing banana). Be gentle, though, because I'm an ARRRR virgin. (Hmm. That really gets weird since it followed the banana reference). Ahem .. anyway ..... The torrent sites are including the following instructions with their TS3 download: 2. Burn or mount the image. So ... I've never, to my knowledge) mounted anything (gah! More sexual innuendo!), so I'll stick with the disk. So, we actually unRAR the files, burn them to disk, then install from disk. (Seems clunky, but I'll not question why it must be done this way). Do we then have to use the disk whenever we play? Or, if we do the following, does that eliminate the need for using the disk beyond install? Check your "Sims3Setup.exe" with WinRAR. If you can open it in WinRAR and find another one in there, along with a "codec.exe", you has it. That's the real one. Copy your CD contents, replace the wrapped version with the inside version.
And if we do the above, do we do it before copying to the disk and installing, or after? It seems like you're saying "before," Big Fish, but I'm a nervous and uncertain F and want to be sure. Also, if I do the above, does that eliminate the game trying to phone home, or is it better just to disconnect from the internet before playing? I feel ultra dumb, and I almost sent this by PM, but I figure that if someone answers, many will benefit. If you'll need the disk after the install depends on the crack, but I would guess you'll need it. copying of the crack is done after the install, from the disk i guess if it's on the disk (I always mount).

TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Technical problems with THE HORROR: downloading, installing, and running it

I have a few questions for those that have the game:
I plan on upgrading my computer this week. My system currently has: 2 processors running - Intel(R) Core(TM)2 CPU 6320 @ 1.86GHz, 2.0 GB RAM, Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition (Build Service Pack 32600), NVIDIA GeForce 8600 GT (GeForce 8600 GT) with 256 MB of video RAM, and 183.8 GB free on my hard drive. I'm adding a GB of RAM to bring me up to 3 GB of RAM and max out my useful RAM under XP but what I am really looking for is video card recommendations since I've heard it's not just video RAM I should be looking at.
you will probably woun't have any problem running the game on high settings it that's what you mean... See no reason to upgrade your computer at all, esp. not when you're running XP.

I come from TSR where this question is always answered with "AJDSLDSJF JUST DON'T DO IT DON'T TOUCH IT STUPID WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU DON'T TOUCH HER YOU BLEW UP THE UNIVERSE OH MY GOD WEDSLFSDFAA."
Sorry for being OT, but that's kind of what I would say to someone heading to TSR.

TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: Invisible apartment neighbours.

The problem: All my apartment neighbours are Invisible. I can hear them and see doors moving but I can't see them and I can't hover over them and click on them. All other neighbours and townies are fine.
This is intentional on EAxis' part. Whenever you play an apartment (even if the other neighbors are playable) you will only be able to see the family you are currently playing. If you want to visit them and have a decent enough relationship with that family, click on their door and choose "knock". You will then be able to see inside their apartment as long as you're visiting them. This was not what I ment though. My apologies, I misunderstood the problem. Guess I could've been clearer too. ^^

I think I have the same problem the OP has: in apartments, once a neighbor becomes invisible because it entered its home, it will not return visible when goes to work or exits its apartment for any reason: simply it remains invisibile forever. I have to constantly click on the "fix invisible neighbors" of the lot debugger if I don't want my playables interact with ghosts and spirits only. I didn't a binary search, 'cause I haven't played apartments a lot, but if I find the culprit I'll post.
Yes, this is exactly what I'm experiencing.

invincible You keep using that word; I do not think it means what you think it means. Invincible==indestructable. Invisible==unable to be seen. As to your problem, I cannot help you, as I have not played with apartments yet. Ah....english is not my mother lang. But guess I'll try to do a search with the right word then.

The problem: All my apartment neighbours are Invisible. I can hear them and see doors moving but I can't see them and I can't hover over them and click on them. All other neighbours and townies are fine. I have searched on forums and google but no one seem to have the same problem.
I did the 50/50 thing, and always when I do this and testing I only use maxis content to not corrupt my own familys or whatever. So I started a maxis apt. and everything was fine and kept being fine even after adding all CC back. So I went creating my own apartment and the problem was back. So I started an older apartment I have created before that used to have invincible neighbours, and there everything was fine... I'm not really sure what to do or what may be causing it?
