1  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: SUPPORT THE MUNICIPALITY! on: 2009 September 01, 13:23:57
Well as I appear to be reasonably solvent so far this month I can finally support Pes' Awesomeness.  This makes me feel unnaturally warm inside.

As far as South Africans' perception of the USA is concerned, it bears noting that one of, if not the, most popular USA TV show over here is a soap opera called "The Bold and The Beautiful". If anyone believes what they see on TV, I would love to know what they make of that.

That is disturbing as all get out.  I've been watching Y&R since I was 10 6 and can't bring myself to watch B&B.

ATL has a number of these "traps" for the unwary, notably "Ponce de Leon" street. Say a form approximating "pawhnz del ee OHN" and you're wrong. It's "pahnce DEE LEE on". "LaVista" is not "luh VIST-uh" it is "LAH VEE-stur."
Add to that the conflict between the educated and uneducated in ATL, and you get natives saying something wrong due to ignorance or accent, and other natives eye-rolling. It's not "SMEAR-neh" it is "SMUR-nah." It's not "Kenner-SAW" it's "KEN-eh-saw." And, "MAY-retta" is REALLY wrong, it is "MAHR-ee-et-uh."

5  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: 24/7 Ghost - Just will not return to gravestone on: 2009 July 13, 20:30:47
You could also reset the Sim.  Gunther Goth does this on a regular basis for me.

(Yes I know, the Goths.  Never played them in the first 2 games, I'm working through them this go round.)
6  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Can't finish Omniplant Opportunity on: 2009 June 19, 11:55:49
Since 85% of the game is sitting around watching them sleep, tap at a computer, or fish, I tend to temporarily lock their motives and just let them do it in the background and get distracted by the Internets or IRC. As a result, sometimes my Sims fish for Simdays, and, yes, that racks up a truckload of fish in short order.
Honestly, they must not bother with beta testers at all. Surely someone would have pointed out that watching Sims sleep is less enthralling than watching paint dry.

This.
7  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: I like ghosts on: 2009 June 18, 11:27:35
I'm sort of enjoying them too.  The ghost babbies/chilluns are annoying me with the whole ghost sounds instead of regular voices.  I also find myself yelling at the ghostie teen who freaks out at her ghostie little brother.  Really?  Have you looked in a mirror lately?
8  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: My review of TS3. What I liked, don't like. on: 2009 June 16, 10:35:23
What I have noticed in the bit I've played is that the Sims seem to lack soul. I've seen very few animations so far that I really like or that have brought a smile to my face. And there is something odd about the way they walk I can't put my finger on.

They stand and walk like they're going to a gunfight at the OK Corral.   It reminds me of Yul Brenner's character in "Futureworld".
9  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: My review of TS3. What I liked, don't like. on: 2009 June 15, 14:57:12
The only mini game I like is exploring the catacombs in the graveyard.  I've gotten all my gnomes there (which btw is a hilarious addition), some of the rare seeds and some weird rock.  Plus I enjoy seeing my simself come out fried when it's been particularly traumatic.  She's gone in there so many times I think I've gotten all the scenarios multiple times.
10  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: My review of TS3. What I liked, don't like. on: 2009 June 15, 12:17:03
The key word in that article is "laziness".  After playing this entire weekend I have to agree.

I feel like I've been forced to dumb down and fit into my spawn's console world or play one of the RPGs I have.  The sims move like little robot people (what is WITH that stance they have when standing still?), have little to no personality and building stuff is painful.  I think I hate the speed problem more than anything in this POS.

I do like being able to follow them as they move from one lot to the other, color customization and the interactions with the ghosts.  I'm determined to get a ghost baby for which the Son of Perdition's self-sim has graciously agreed to take one for the team to provide.  After that I see myself going back to TS2 to fulfill my goddess complex.

As a Sims player since day 1 I feel like I've been bent over and fucked in the ass with no reach around.
11  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Worthless whore! That's not my baby! on: 2009 June 12, 18:23:39
Ugh. That's creepy.

No, people get pregnant without my control all the time.  Sims may as well also (if I opt for story progression).

Also, I note there is no Jellypudding yet.  Are we to expect one?

Speaking of which - your personal pudding is sitting on my desktop waiting anxiously for me to load this damn game when I get home and put you through your paces.

Dear jeebus can payday get here so I can add this.

14  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: THE HORROR: The REAL TS3 Scoop As It Unfolds on: 2009 May 20, 17:47:01
I just can't get past how ugly they are.  Aside from that and a few other concerns folks have expressed, it does look like it's at least worth a free trial and I've been chained to the brand since the beginning so resistance is futile.  However, the ugly really is killing my must have it NAO drive normally associated with the Sims.

Please more screen shots.  Maybe the ugly will grow on me.
15  TS2: Burnination / Planet K 20X6 / Re: foundation swap (idea, not actual contest) on: 2009 March 25, 23:50:45
Damn ya'll are talented.  I have to try the Death to Emma lot this weekend.  I really like the apartment concept with that one.
16  TS2: Burnination / Planet K 20X6 / Re: EAxis house of Phail: March 09 on: 2009 March 15, 16:44:32
Everyone is doing far better than me.  This one is frustrating and I'm trying not to steal incorporate the things I see here.
17  TS2: Burnination / Planet K 20X6 / Re: EAxis House of Phail: Feb 09 on: 2009 February 09, 23:10:49
I can't seem to settle on something I like with this one this month.  I dunno, we'll see.

@Bliss - yoinked all of them, I can't say anything else but I liked each one.  The apartment was best as I can't seem to do really workable apartments.  Thanks for that.

@crunk - I like that roof over the bay windows.

@loripanori - nice exterior color scheme on the first.  Cool modern look on the second.  It reminds me of some of the 70s houses here in the States.

Strangel - I have nfc why I've never thought of doing the dog house like that.  When I have one I always put it in the backyard.  Reminds me of Mob Rule.

@Emma - that's almost too regal for that itty-bitty lot.

*slips Tingeling another unauthorized cookie

@twooflower - WIN!  Yoinked!  Loving the complete rustic theme/color scheme.

@SalixTree - yoinked just because it's Salix.  No, for real I like the whimsy.  I want a whimsical neighborhood (although I'm far too anal retentive to actually make one) so I'll hold it until I can create one.  I miss the old Salix avatar though.

@pbox - WIN!  I'd live there m'self.

@Anebrd - yep, good for a lower, lower class family or a Fortune Sim that needs to be punished with poverty.

@Kyna - Those are among THE BEST windows EA has come up with yet.  I love how orderly it all is.
18  TS2: Burnination / Planet K 20X6 / Re: EAxis House of Phail: Feb 09 on: 2009 February 06, 19:43:25
Ooh! Someone else's interpretation of modern!  Yoinks!

Me too, Bliss.  Will work in a vacation hood I need to upgrade.
*grumbles and moves on to second idea for the damn lot now*

@ Isil - not bad for a medieval player   Smiley  I'm a sucker for full window levels/towers.

@ theresatv - are there any "ZOMG there's weather in my house" issues with the roofs like that?
20  TS2: Burnination / Planet K 20X6 / Re: EAxis House of Phail: Feb 09 on: 2009 February 03, 21:14:16
@ Faizah - that reminds me of some beach houses I've stayed in.  But it confirms one idea I had for the place.

@ mistyk - WHOA!  Very pretty!  I really like the exterior wallcovering, I can't ever get the logs to look right.

@ eaglezero - extending the front out the way you did gives it a completely different look as does the color scheme.

@ Borkedforlife - institutional I don't do well so that's pretty cool.  I could use that for other scenarios.

Yoinking all.
21  TS2: Burnination / Planet K 20X6 / Re: EAxis House of Phail: Feb 09 on: 2009 February 02, 21:46:31
If I manage to build one this month (I'm in the middle of renovating a university at present, lot-by-lot), I will happily stick to my no-move-trees idea (nyer, nyer, Originalhalf!), but the roof goes.  I'm thinking something in a light thatch.  Perhaps something squalid and shack-like for those poverty-stricken sims who have to eat their young to survive.

You do know that I had already thought of a way around that particular cruelty, right?  Life as an AIDE to the Overlord of Hell and an axe murderess demands quick thinking   Cheesy

I might try a community lot on this one.
22  TS2: Burnination / Planet K 20X6 / Re: EAxis House of Phail: Feb 09 on: 2009 February 02, 18:13:12
What are the special rules for this month's challenge?
Don't move or delete any of the existing trees?  Roll Eyes

You really are freakin' evil.

I would ask if we can change the foundation to the brick one instead of the lattice-work one.
23  TS2: Burnination / Planet K 20X6 / Re: EAxis House of Phail: January 09 on: 2009 February 02, 12:41:32
The cabin would be very cool.  I've enjoyed redoing that one over the years.

The winners this month are the same winners as every month.  The winners are those of us who suck at building - each month we get a variety of well-built, interesting, mostly awesomespec, cc-free lots to download.

No truer words.
24  TS2: Burnination / Planet K 20X6 / Re: EAxis House of Phail: January 09 on: 2009 January 28, 20:14:37
Completely illegal and ineligible offering as it is bloated with custom content.  Contains the little garden I posted awhile ago.  Directly inspired by SalixTree and eaglezero.  I have had no internet access at home for over a week (*throws firebomb at Verizon) but will tomorrow (*cheers to Comcast).  Will upload actual house file then and edit this post if anyone is interested.  More pics can be found here http://s410.photobucket.com/albums/pp188/originalhalf/Jan%2009%20House%20of%20Phail%20Custom/

@mrowcat - like the stone, I have trouble mixing it with other materials on the exterior.  I like the formality of your foyer, very upscale.

@Cucumberpie - primary colors ftw!  Cool working balcony on the front.  Sucks the lot is the way it is and the play stuff has to be in front.

@jim - eaglezero, leaths and of course Salix inspired this garden with cc stuff - my poor attempt at indoor-ish cottage-y.
