If I want the wife to change her name - I make the husband initiate the actual wedding ceremony (or 'Propose Marriage') and vice versa for make sims. As far as I know, it doesn't matter who proposes the engagment - just the marriage itself.

Oh God, this whole thread is just hilarious. It's amazing how almost... obsessed the kiddies over at exchange are with rape, incest and teen pregnancy, and it seems many barely know what happens or how to discover the pregnancies. Poor kids. Some of them are just... wtf? and some are highly disturbing. What *is* it with the almost, trivialisation of rape and incest? I suppose I can get wanting to know more about the subjects... but, writing a stupid story about it where the girl gets pregnant with "ZOMG!!! twinz!!111eleventyone"? It seems these kids almost think along the lines of "look, rape is teh funnehz! LOLZ!!!" I submit This story. It's isn't particularly offensive more than it is stupid. The cool thing is, the girl and her boyfriend continously have sex outside the house on a bed, and the mother doesn't notice that there's a double bed right outside, or hear her daughter and the daughter's boyfriend having sex. Also, biological errors! Feeling crampy and then going to the hospital to take a pregnancy test? Um... if cramping is a sign of pregnancy, I've been pregnant thousands of times and didn't even know it! Some choice quotes: "Oww." said Gina. Suddenly, Gina heard noises from outside. She cleaned herself up, and went outside.Right, because, it's not as if she'd notice a double bed right outside her door, with her daughter and the boyfriend having sex in it, ever! When Gina went outside, she couldn't believe her eyes. "Oh my god!" said Gina in surprise. They were playing a game of Tonsil Hockey! And it was getting to be violeant.Violeant? What's that? A weird variation of violence? It's so violent, it's violeant! Also, tonsil hockey? What self respecting adult would actually refer to french kissing as tonsil hockey? God, I just can't understand how people can have such little knowledge of spelling and grammar, just, how?

Yay, a questionnaire! (Is it weird that I kind of enjoy online ones? o.O) - are you more into building lots, decorating lots, creating sims, or playing families?Well, since I like to play families, create lots of generations, I have to build lots for them. So, I do a bit of both. I can get quite into building houses/lots, though. - lots: do you play highly decorated, with walls up/cutaway, with a focus on 'whoever has the most toys wins"? Or do you play barely decorated, walls down, with a focus on interractions/spawning?A bit of both. I always like to have nice, fully decorated homes, and I play with the walls up. I like the spawns to have somewhere nice to live. - is genetics your thing? Do you like watching spawns, and spawns of spawns for how they turn out? Or do you barely get through one generation before you're off to the next family?I suppose so. I don't do ugly sims, and I do like to see what the genetics have formed for a sim (or malformed. ) - do you build lots of hoods, or have you been playing one or two hoods forever?I like to try and stay in the same 'hood, if possible. I'll only begin a new one if the previous one becomes overcrowded/bugged. - in terms of what your sims do: are you into relationships and interractions, or are you more into how they skill and climb the corporate ladders?I prefer relationsips. I don't really care for the careers (except to see what they are and the outfits. etc). But, for sims who want to climb the career ladder, I usually do so. And they've usually gained all needed skills even before they're teens (no kids, you can't play, you stay here and gain skills, you useless sprogs!) - do you play lots of community lots, or are your sims homebodies?I only really go to community lots for outings and dates, which don't happen too often. They don't even buy food now that Seasons has more or less eliminated that need. -city/country/suburban?Usually, my 'hoods are a surburban bliss. - do you do themes? (aliens, medieval, Victorian)No. Although, I wouldn't mind trying either Victorian or 50's. - do you do themes? (aliens, medieval, Victorian)Sort of, I like the animals. But they can get a little annoying after a while (aswell as the fact that there's more pixels to keep from dying). - do you do the vamp/werewolf/alien/zombie thing, or are you more a 'real person' player? If I'm doing a story, I'll do the supernatural stuff. But for the most part, I prefer the game to be realistic. - hacks: do you like to make life simpler or harder? insim? inteen?Bit of both; I don't really do mood hacks, since it would get very boring after a while. I use InTeen because I sometimes like my sims to start spawning young, and because of the miscarriage aspect. Although, I find it bizarre that they react worse to a miscarriage than to a death. -custom content: lots or a little? what do you have the most of?I have a shitload of content; I've made certain to limit myself. I think I have more Bodyshop items than I do objects, but I'm not entirely sure. - and finally, if you share your creations...what do you create?I've considered uploading my lots; but I haven't got around to it, not even sure if I even want to, to be honest. Personally, I'm quite a family/domestic bliss/OMG teh pretty houses!!!11one oriented Simmer. I like my sims to have shitty things happen, sure, but overall, I tend to keep them happy. I like the sort of story aspect of creating generations of a family, to see how it grows and develops. I also like to create people I know (in RL and online) so I can inform them of their families exploits. I did a very... interesting story using my sister and her family when I first got the game. She found it highly amusing.

TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Modest/Religious clothing for female sims?

Ah, thankyou. I checked out the website; granted, there's only a few downloads, but for what they are, they do look quite nice. I just downloaded a ton of bettya's clothes - she seems to do gorgeous outfits. And a variation of styles too, which is nice. I found some mediaeval dresses that 'cover up' well, too.

So, I've looked around various sites (including MTS2. Although, there's a decent looking Hijab up for download) and haven't found anything specific that I'm looking for. All-About-Style has some lovely clothes; but I'm curious, is there any site that has conservative/religious clothing? I'm not necessarily looking for a Burka - but something that 'covers up' in the way that an Islamic burka would. But I'd be fine with a burka, if that's all that's really available. There was one over at MTS2; but the person has taken the download off the site, due to, it seems, from imflammatory/racist comments. So, any suggestions of where to look?

Apparently, animals eat their own shit because there's a vitamin in the faeces that keeps their bowels healthy (it's called B 12 I think) and when the animals poo's, the vitamin can't be abosrbed into the bloodstream. Thus, the poo eating. I'm not kidding.

Then he gets pissed because she just cheated on him. Looking at memories she has just cheated on him with herself. Now their friendship and marriage is screwed.
At least she didn't cheat on him with the dog. I was actually thinking that would be the bug. *shudders* I will wait a while before getting this EP, mostly because I don't know if I care for it.

Yes, indeed. Poor Lucy Burb. Gosh, the twisted things you can do with this game! Well, I started my brothel yesterday. It wasn't a bad start and they made quite a bit of money, though, I seem to be lacking in gaining customer loyalty stars. Though I am at level one on the business ranking. I'm planning on making it a 'family' business - mother runs it, her and daughter operate in seperate rooms. I don't seem to have much trouble with getting a sale - the townies seem interested.with the 'services', and don't seem to mind paying for sex.

Well, I've decided to do the Home Business option, it seems easiest to me. I've built a home specifically for the particularl purpose, with a living area upstairs, 'business' area downstairs. I included 2 WooHooing rooms, one with a Lap Dance chair and Shaklins love bed, and another with just a bed. I haven't tested anything as of yet, but I'm sure all will go welll.

Ah, cheers for the advise, you're version souns interesting. It is pobably a good idea in general to maybe have a small café/coffee bar on the loot to keep the clients moods high enough. (By the way, the inspiritation coeming from The Simpsons Burllesque house is quite cute. Perhaps I should find some particular outfits for the Brothel. )

Well, to make them *not* in love, you could use the Relationsip mods that come with the Insim, to get rid of love icons/flags on their relationship panels.
With the Casual Roamnce - I think the way you can make it work better is by adjusting the preferences you allow to sims to pay attention to, in other words, none of them. I'm not entirely sure though. I could also just use Shaklins love bed, they relationship never goes up, or at least, not very much.
I'm thinking I may go with the home business idea - that way I can make sure the prostitutes are on Birth Control so no pregnancies occur. And I won't have to bother selecting them all the time.
Jsalemi - that set looks quite interesting, though, it does look a little fiddly.

Okay, I'm wanting to start a Brothel in one of my neighbourhoods and am wondering about the best way to go about it. I currently have the Casual Romance hack and LizzLove's bed hack. I'm thinking there's a few ways to go about this: 1. Build a brothel house on a residential lot, and have the Madame move in and make an amount of women I wish to work in the brothel and add them to the household. Make them have a Home Business, and have the actual Brothel downstairs, and the living area upstairs. I'm thinking this way is likely to work best, but I also have another idea. 2. Build a community lot Brothel and have the Madame purchase the lot. I'd hire the girls I wish to work for her and maybe make them selected when the Brothel is open so I can make sure they 'serve' the customers properly. So I'm just wondering if others here have run Sim Brothels and what ways worked best for them. And, the making money part, should I place one of those OFB... money thingies (I don't know the correct term. ) on the lot to make money?

The vouchers/coupons - they seem to be a random occurrence to me. My sims don't go on dates or outings all that often, so I don't know if my sims 'earn' them, or they just happen randomly without explanation. I've only had one poo bag in my game ever, and that was just when I was experimenting. I like to have my sims who go on dates to have Dream Dates, or at least Great Dates. I usually do it if I want the relationship scores between a couple to improve rapidly, and since my sims are all obsessed with WooHooing (Romance sims in particular, I had one Romance sim who was married, and whenever he arrived home from work, he wanted to WooHoo) I like to use it for making the Wants bars high. I have never gotten any of the bizarre reward type objects from a date. I should probably experiment a little more.

I've had similar sitautions too - though not quite like that. It's usually with family members though. I remember one, I had a family of 3 sisters, each living in their own houses, and had families etc. One of the sisters, Mara I think, constantly visited her other sisters lot, without ringing the bell etc. I can't remember what I did to solve it though - I think I may have the just deleted the entire fmaily and neighbourhood, lol.

TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: House Layout?
|
on: 2006 May 25, 21:31:52

I don't tend to have many sims living ina house at once, maybe 4 tops. So my houses are often quite small, I usually have 2 floors.
First floor. I've always made hallways that you enter as soon as sims walk through the door, and in the hallway I have the stairs The hallway can lead to all ground floor rooms, or as with one house I did not long ago, to one 'main' rom, living room, with dining room at the end, and kitchen (seperated by a wall). There is also a small bathroom on the first floor, in the hallway area.
On the second floor, there's 3 bedroom's, and a bathroom. The master bedroom is the room room you get to, the hallway is quite small aswell.
If I build a house myself, since I like small homes, but with nice gardens, I always build on a 2x2 lot.

You make the biggest hate statement by not buying their product, not posting a useless hate thread.
I'm reminded of all those who bought Dixie Chicks CDs for the sole purpose of bulldozing them. The Chicks still got the money, so what exactly was the point? That's just sad, in both senses of the word. Why waste your money on something you know you won't like? I don't hate Maxis; after all they did give us the game we all know and love, while I do agree their marketing tactics can be quite tacky, and yes we do have a right to complain, saying you hate the company but still buying their products is quite stupid.

First MissDoh Yes I've checked at MTS2 but no one has updated it for OFB yet so I thought I'd ask here. ) And Dr. Beast, Flowerchile and Emma, You three are the first ever to comment on my avatar. I've used it several places now and no ones says anything til now! LOL. I'm a she for starters :oP and I'm American secondly. I love that avatar because it's so wrong, I'm a huge fan of the UK and London in particular. I'm trying to move there.. but I just found it on a tee shirt site actually and I laughed at it a lot, mostly because there are a lot of people out there that say "Oh that's the flag for Greece" and I just get to laugh at their stupidity. So there's the explanation on my avatar. Sorry it wasn't more exciting for you all.. but if you want a better story I'm sure I could make up a good one for you. Hehe. ChamiMinds Here's a more interesting story behind your avator if you wish to tell one in the future. You're a Greek drug lord, and and on the run from the Greek Government and hiding in the UK. You've changed your name to hide your indentity, but continue to do drug dealings at seedy Soho pubs in the backstreets of London, all the while, trying to create a fake birth certificate to become a British citizen to marry your English sweetheart.
