Since installing the patch, I also noticed that my sims take forever to change outfits the first time during the play session. Which means they stand stupidly in front of the shower/bed for 2 sim hours while all of their motives continue to drain before getting in, and they always miss the carpool/school bus the first day, etc. It's getting to be really ridiculous!

Is it on purpose that the BetterGeneticSkinBlend always picks the color from the parent with the darkest skin? I thought it would pick the color at random from the father or mother and then picks a random shade somewhere inbetween, but it appears to always pick the color from the parent with the darkest shade of skin.
Yes. That is on purpose. Then, where does the "blending" part of that feature come in? If it's always going to choose only one parent's skintone, and not actually blend the tones, then what's the point? My question isn't meant to be antagonistic; I'm just curious. Pescado said it picks the darkest parent's skin palette because some people use very light blue or green to try to make pale sims, and it is to prevent a sim with very light green skin and a dark normal skinned sim from having a dark green baby. It doesn't actually blend the skins, but it can give you a middle tone on the darker sim's skintone palette whereas without the better blending it would be just either the one skin or the other.

My third generation have now reached teenagers and my second generation heir has finally fulfilled her lifetime wish. Her husband's lifetime wish is golddigger so I was planning to kill her to fulfill his wish and then banish him from the household, but she won't die. I had her tinker with the TV at low handiness skill; once it just increased her skill and the second time it caught on fire. She won't die by fire because she keeps putting it out as she has the brave trait.
The dishwasher broke and I had her fix it but it only increased the skill and now she's at level 5. I don't want to drown her because it'll take too long and I'd rather it be more accidental. Should I just keep getting a technophobe to break things until she croaks? He's already an elder and I don't have much time until he dies.
I'd suggest having her repair something in a puddle of water, that seemed to make my sim get electrocuted easier.

Anyone else having a problem with their sims taking forever to do what they're told? When I sent my sims to bed, they just stood in front of their beds for sim-hours before finally getting in, at like 4 in the morning when I sent them around midnight! It was absolutely ridiculous. I hadn't had this problem before the patch, or at least not to this extent.

Is the Medical career's perk just being able to increase fun and energy while at work? Those are pretty useful, but my first foray into The Horror was the science career, and being able to mess with almost all inanimate objects kind of outstrips "making people hate you" and "bed at work".
I don't know about the medical career but you can also sleep at work in the culinary career as well. I noticed it hadn't made it onto the list, but you can choose "sleep on prep table" and that will increase your energy while at work. I think they have that in every career, my criminal had the option also. But his wife either never had the option or lost it at a certain level, which kind of sucked.
