Now, by a "Stage", you mean that this is a community lot, right?
Yes, when using the sim-option to build a custom set for the stage right before the performance begins (where stage props are the only items available). In regular buy-mode I get charged normally. I also have been experiencing this. Thanks again pescado for your quick updates

I'm using the newest Awesome Mod.
No you are not. To be fair, (s)he probably, technically is. Just doesn't realize her/his ignorance. Aeschere, you may have gone to the Awesomemod downloads thread and downloaded the latest version, but this version is not compatible with LN. With every expansion, the core changes. AM is a core mod, there non compatible until fixed. The compatible version is currently in beta test and will be released when stable. For now, drag the awesome folder to your desk top, like me, and wait. Although its hard, I find it (especially as a mac user) easier to just deal with a released version. If you must you can hunt down the test version, but this may be buggy, possibly more so on a OS X.

True, but Mod the Sims is Care Bear land so you'd probably want to be vague and dance around it or else just pm it.
In theory, installing the Store items is just a matter of getting them decrapified and installed via the launcher, though I'm not sure which Mac programs would do that, or else converting them to package or getting an archive of them already in package form, making sure the framework and directories are setup correctly and then placing the packages there.
Actually, I seemed to have solved my problem under that conclusion before I even got a chance to check back here! Although I didn't find a Mac program to convert the files into .package format, I used the DCBackup file. I just copy and pasted the contents into my mods/package folder and wala: all the second update material is in my game! Now, I admit the game runs incredibly slow. I'm hoping by renaming the files to something not so long and by deleting some exchange bull shit I accidentally downloaded I should be able to get it up to speed. It did. I renamed about 1,000 files, which took forever. But in my honest opinion, I think it was worth it. Was it worth the hundreds of dollars it would've cost me? No. So heres a thanks to everyone for the help and for the sharing!

I have tried searching this site and others for this question but cannot seem to find a direct answer. Please understand, this is my last resort.
I am running Mac OSX with Base, WA, HL, and Ambitions. I recently just switched to my Mac so I did a clean install of all 4 and then decided to redownload the store content from here. I downloaded, unzipped, and double clicked to install via the launcher with the internet off. Then I play (with the internet off) and nothing appears.
What do I need to do differently? I am very new to this, especially on Mac. Any help or point in the right direction is appreciated.
Thanks

I agree. Completely.
I quit after I installed WA becuase my game was useless after all my store content and CC had disappeared leaving my main house hideous and useless.
I've searched everything from "install cc" to "cc" to "install custom content" to "install store content" and a majority of the posts were from early to mid 2009 (before the problem) and the rest of them were filled responses like "NOOB, use SEARCH."
Well because of the mass confusion, search has rendered useless for me this time, unfortunately.

Okay.. I spoke too soon! Coconnor, with your edited resource.cfg code my game crashed after load. After multiple trials I came to the conclusion that was the problem. So I tried Imyouboy's edited code and it loaded fine with all the DCCache files in the mods>package. After multiple trials, chantings, sacrifices, voodoo, witchcraft, prayers, and head bashings I got the game to load...but with none of the CC I have a few hairs from sites in .packages and other misc CC... and I have almost all store stuff (but recent) and NONE showed. I understand why EA fucked up illegal store shit but why every other CC? I remember when will wright made the game he envisioned an extremely customizable, open game. Now we have EA stamped payshit. Anywho.. any other possible suggestions?

A fambly with an infant keeps leaving the house while they are inactive resulting in (what I assume) child services taking the baby. This is quite frustrating as I have to exit without saving to get baby back!
Well I must of neglected the HH longer than I thought. The baby was deleted and saved on accident. (This HH is sacred, btw) Is there anyway to force baby back in the HH?
Has anyone else have this problem of missing babies?
When inactive families leave their house with babies or toddlers inside, those babies/toddlers temporarily disappear into the ether until a responsible family member returns. If you use Awesomemod to swap to a family and find that their little ones are missing, try sending some family members home and see if they reappear. (I've only had this occur when using Awesomemod functionality to swap directly from one family to the next - I'm not sure if it happens if you swap families via Edit Town.) This may or may not be why your baby is missing, but I know it confused the hell out of me the first time I experienced it. OH thank god! Your right! I feel so dumb lol

Is anyone still having serious lag issues?
I searched the thread so don't yell. I found posts back from mid-june and the last one said that the (what was then) lasted version of the mod fixed the lag from 12:59AM-early morning.
I just got the mod today. My first sim evening with it i experienced god awful lag. from 12:59 - 5:30am it would pause for a 30 sec - couple minutes every 2-5 sim minutes. Needless to say I sat at my computer drooling and plucking hairs for a good 45 minutes!
The main reason I got the mod was for multiple-households, I've never really had problems with story progression before. But anyway, I just wanted to check if this problem is just me, or if others are also experiencing it and if there is anyway to fix it or at least lessen the damage.
I only have so many hairs to pluck!
My boyfriend got the latest version as of 2 days go, and he bad lag too. Oddly enough, his lasted longer every night (until 2am the first to until about 8am several days later). He turned off the No Parthenogenesis, No household merge / split etc, options and the game is normal again. I have an older version (a couple of weeks old, I think) and while that lagged pretty badly the first night, it was fine after that. I'm not sure whether the difference is because of play-style (he's playing a super social sim who's friends with half the neighbourhood; I'm not) or town (he's in Riverview, I'm in the default one whose name escapes me right now) or whether there was a code change in there during that time. Like I said before, I don't really care for story progression either way. I like to progress families myself! So i discovered just turning the damn thing off works best! But I should try to disenable some of those options to get some of the SP features! But to avoid a double post, let me also add another little buggy I found I have pedo enabled and also installed the teenwoohoo thing for AM that I found in the pudding factory (YUHM!! PUDDING!!). I had a teen go over to Morty's house (he's single, no one else in fambly, i wanted to CLAIM him for my future rich daughter) and had her flirt, ect. They had a first kiss and that was it. They became best friends so I had her leave. I changed over to her older sister's boyfriend's house. And helped him establish a good job, anyway played him for a while switched back to my main hh with the creepy daughter making claims to the goth's estate.(PS- she's a twin, and the twins are the youngest of 6 kids) I noticed her twin sister was normal, but couldn't find her. She had aged to an adult automatically! So I quit without saving.. Anyway. No biggie, just thought i'd let ya know so it could possibly be looked at. Like I said, I have SP turned off and aging on, and I have that teen woo hoo thing..

Thank you to all of you contributers and fixers and hackers! I got seemingly everything in my game, and the only disappointment i have i blame EA.. the stuff really isn't work a buck, most of this shit isn't worth anything!
Edit: But what can EA do to the forum for us doing this?
