Does anyone know how we can edit the files in SimPE to prevent the override from happening?

Thanks, I did a search over there and posted here when nothing turned up for me...maybe I'm not phrasing my search correctly.  I'll keep looking.

I purchased a community lot and drove the entire family to the new business, and saved as soon as I reached Rank 1.  I then quit the game.  The next time I started playing, I clicked on the business to keep playing, but it wouldn't let me load the lot, saying something like, "This is a Community lot and you need to use the phone with your Sim to visit."  I then clicked on the family's house in the neighborhood and it said they were still at the community lot.  After reading about the car bug, I decided to start from scratch and recreate a new Bluewater Village.

Now I'm only using taxis to go to the community lots, and I'm occasionally getting the "owner doesn't stop whistling and won't leave the lot" bug.  If I Force Error on the owner, it solves the issue, since the cab then drives home with everyone inside.

Hello!  One of my Sims is running an art gallery and I've been using the Paint Still Life option to create custom paintings.  I would use the default Paint option more often if I could replace the default canvas painting choices with my own graphics, since I wouldn't have to minimize my game and go into Photoshop every time.  Does anyone know if there is a way to do this?  I'm so tired of that clown painting and that half-finished dripping abstract mess.

I'm getting error messages when professors appear on lots with a home business, and I have an ATI card.  When the errors come up, if I hit the Reset button twice, the professor appears on the lot and then immediately leaves.  It's happened with both of my home businesses but never on my community lots.
