1  Awesomeware / The Armory / Re: Apartment Hack: Now For Non-Fat Gwilly People! on: 2009 April 02, 20:46:22
I have a problem that I have not seen reported here.
My apartment sims' neighbors will not visit after accepting the invitation by phone when this hack is installed.
I have tested it by removing one mod/hack at a time, and also by removing all mods/hacks and replacing them with the most recent version of The Director's Cut.  When apthack is removed the neighbors show up.
I have to admit that I downloaded and installed the EA patch for Apartment Life.  Perhaps this is the conflict.
I would really like to play with the Apthack.  Do you have some solution for me?

I'm having the same issue.  Sim neighbors stand me up constantly.  I'm going through the testing phase right now. I'll update if I find a seperate solution.

Can you not just knock on the apartment neighbour's door and ask them to come out? Works for me. (Except after 10pm, as apparently neighbours need their beauty sleep.)

Just knocking on an apartment door and asking them to come out doesn't have the same effect as calling and having them actually visit. It's what I've been doing, though, because all this time I thought getting stood up by apartment neighbors was another EAxis bit of stupidity...lol. But I have just discovered the problem is the apt hack as well. The also don't come to birthday parties, etc when invited. Since I see the issue has been reported and ignored, I suppose it isn't going to get fixed, so I'll either settle for not inviting my apt neighbors on the phone, or I'll live without the apt hack, although I don't like that option very much.  Cry

Saw my Charlatan hanging around a graveyard today. He had a perfectly clean and bare babyface too... without the patch installed.

lordrichter: Did you see anywhere that I said it would happen to everyone? It DID happen to me. I just thought I would post it here to let anyone else it may happen to know that it has not just happened to them. I beg your pardon it that does not happen to be okay with you. Mmmm 'k?  Tongue

Zazazu: No. I have only ever had one account on this computer as I am the only one who uses it. All I know is that it was really strange. I saw that little black dialog box pop up both while uninstalling H&M junk AND BV. *shrugs* Maybe it was just a freak thing that somehow happened. If it's possible for something freaky to happen; it will likely happen to me...lol.

I'm not worried about it thiough. I got rid of it once. Now I've gotten rid of it again.  Cheesy
4  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: How to get rid of SecuRom, NOW on: 2007 October 26, 13:07:04
No. It was gone. I checked several times just for the hell of it on several occasions. I was using the recommended no cd crack to play the game. Also while uninstalling, I noticed that strange black box that someone else mention somewhere, pop up for a brief second. I know it was reinstalled during the uninstallation process.
5  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Check this out! on: 2007 October 26, 02:35:35
I followed the steps to rid my system of Suc-u-rom. It worked beautifully! It was NOWHERE to be found. I was happily playing my game with all the expansions until something totally un-related got borked and I decided that a total re-install was neccessary. After the game was completely gone, I checked the registry to make sure it was gone from there too and guess what I found?

Apparently the damned game installed Securom during the UN-installation process. Now THAT is what I call ridiculous!  Angry

I'll tell you what... I've done so much damned re-binning now that I have the numbers memorized!  Cheesy  It is definately easier for me now than it started out being. It is most definately worth every grueling minute though.
7  TS2: Burnination / Peasantry / Re: Converting Pre-BV Accessories to fit in new BV Accessory Section on: 2007 September 21, 17:18:29
Problem solved!  Grin Actually it was something rather simple (and stupid). For some reason, a couple of the numbers were not staying changed. I went back in, changed them again and... it works!  I was really tired last night when I was working on it, so it was most likely something dumb I was doing. The tutorial is AWESOME.

*presses thanks button repeatedly*
8  TS2: Burnination / Peasantry / Re: Converting Pre-BV Accessories to fit in new BV Accessory Section on: 2007 September 21, 14:40:30
Hey thanks for the reply, Captain Swooptie. Well actually I have been just ignoring the error and continuing, but when it's all done and I go to into the game to see if it worked, the item (it's a necklace) does not show up in cas. I made sure to follow each direction step by step at least five times. I guess I do suck and am doing something wrong. *sigh*

I'm going to roll my sleeves up and go back in, trying it the way you suggested. Hopefully I'll get it right if I don't give up.  Wink
9  TS2: Burnination / Peasantry / Re: Converting Pre-BV Accessories to fit in new BV Accessory Section on: 2007 September 21, 13:02:14
This is an excellent tutorial, except for one thing; I can't get the damn thing to work for me.  Cry  Things seem to be going great until I get to step two. When I try to change the Group and the Instance values, SimPe throws an error. As soon as I delete the orginal number to edit it, a popup says it can't set value.

First, I'm not an expert at playing around in Simpe, though I have binned hundreds of hair files, changed clothing categories, etc. So maybe I'm failing just because I suck...lol.  I do know I've given myself a headache trying to figure out what the hell I could be doing wrong. Any ideas?
10  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Is there anything to remove the blur in BV yet? on: 2007 September 16, 23:00:11
The old one still works for me. Maybe it depends on one's combination of EPs/Sps.  Huh
11  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: How to include maxis recolors in packaged lots? on: 2007 September 16, 03:25:37
Actually they broke it in Pets, then patched it. Now I've read they've broken it again.  Roll Eyes
12  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: BV: What did EAxis break so comm-skilling doesn't work no more? on: 2007 September 15, 23:26:20
It's working fine for me too.  Grin
13  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: BV: Anybody Updating These Abandoned Mods? on: 2007 September 15, 05:16:29
This Crammyboy's mod still works for community lots other thant the vacation ones.  So it needs an update to include those lots:

 zzzCBOY_NoCommLotFoodServe.package

Yea, I noticed that it works at the parks, etc, but not at campground/hotel lots. I guess those are not actually considered community-type lots. Sucks to have your hungry sim grill food then not get to eat before all the townies grab a plate. That's when watching closely and cancelling that serve action comes in handy...lol
14  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Bon Voyage dissatisfaction on: 2007 September 11, 20:20:46
The Lot Debugger can fix the loss of permaplat status.

They were right. You have to do the old man's task. Then your Sim will learn Tai Chi and never want to do anything else. It's not like the greetings.

What is the old man's task?  I sent a couple there, and the were there for hours with no hints. I had the wife serve tea -- nothing.  I had the husband rake the zen garden -- nothing (though I did have to break him out of it to leave because his hunger was getting dangerously low).  All the old man did was walk around the lot moping up rain puddles, since it rained most of the time my sims were there.

You're supposed to learn the legend of the dragon. Took forever for me. Had to actually go fishing with the old man for a while before he decided to share it.  Roll Eyes
15  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: My facial hair is gone! on: 2007 September 09, 23:23:37
Well, I managed to overcome my missing content problem. BV must have farted during installation or something and wiped out all the change appearance content all the way back to the base game.  After reinstalling the whole kit and kaboodle, my stuff is back.  Roll Eyes
16  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: My facial hair is gone! on: 2007 September 09, 14:15:56
Yea, he said it was because it had over three hundred replies and was getting too long. Guess his eyes got tired while reading. I know mine did! lol I read the whole damn thing and didn't see not on other complaint about my exact problem. Only problems with the new jewelery options, etc.
17  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: My facial hair is gone! on: 2007 September 09, 13:59:46
Hell, I uninstalled BV and then reinstalled it with the same result. I have no hacks or other custom content in the game for testing purposes. I took some screenshots of the problem.....http://s85.photobucket.com/albums/k52/TinaG13/Sim%20Troubles/

I even braved the BBS and made a thread over there because Sam's bug thread was closed before I could post in it.

Since installing BV, all my facial hair is gone except what came with BV. I have no options for any makeuip at all, and the only costume makeup available is what came with BV.  Angry  All non-BV glasses have disappeared too.
19  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Bon Voyage dissatisfaction on: 2007 September 07, 06:30:05
Whatever you do, don't take a friend on vacation with you and stay at a hotel with a restaurant. All they do is hang around there and eat even though they are not hungry.   Roll Eyes

I discovered one interesting thing that has nothing to do with taking a trip. In my newly-generated Pleasantview, I visited the Dreamer house and all the bills that have been missing for several expansions are back!  Cheesy
20  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: I have no mailbox and the stoves won't work. on: 2007 August 26, 00:29:32
When all else fails, I would try moving the family out and then back in again. Maybe because of the mailbox situation, the game is still seeing it as a community lot for some reason.  Huh  Just make sure you have a proper trashcan and mailbox before trying it.
21  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: How do you put your own music into the game? on: 2007 June 04, 23:20:36
Oh yea! Playing is much more pleasant having your own tunes in the game.  LOL, Hegelian, your music collection looks very similar to mine!  Cheesy
22  TS2: Burnination / Peasantry / Re: No more freeloading at the dorms on: 2007 May 09, 22:16:28
I don't know about you, but so far, none of my graduating sims have been able to afford to live on their own.  They all pretty much have to find roommates, as none can even buy an empty lot alone.  I really wish there was a way to combine households or sims in the simbin before picking a lot to move them into.  Tongue

Ste

In cases like this, I usually move one sim back to the neighborhood then get one of his college roomies to send him most of the money that's left using the money order. Then he can afford to buy a house for himself and his other college mates to start out in.
23  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: Community lot pauses with Seasons? on: 2007 May 03, 19:09:31
It could depend on the lot and which season it is at the time.  I say this because I took a sim to Woodland Park in Pleasantview without any problems whatsoever. I took the same sim to the park a couple of sim days later and had short pauses every few seconds. Finally I realized that the first time I was at the park it was summer. The second time it was fall.  I think it may have had something to do with so many trees and the falling of dozens of leaves all at once.  Undecided
24  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Changing the day of a season on a lot? on: 2007 April 08, 18:57:20
The seasons and weather controller works great for me..... http://www.simwardrobe.com/    It's found under 'other' objects.
