It is true that the hack does not work on IKEA. The sim tries to call and then jumps out of the call due to an error. It it should be fixed soon and the new version will also be compatible with Apartment Life.

TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Originally a "Power Outage" in the game? Could modders plz help get it back?

If anyone actually cares, I have a hack coming soon that does a lot of things with power and water. It should also re-enabled the Power Outage Scenario. Been working on this for months it seems, but it is almost done.
Many of the newer objects from newer EP/SP don't actually turn off when the electricity is shut off. And the objects are still usable even when the power is off. But I have fixed most of them so far.
It should be very cool!

This new version should be 100% working with crammyboy's "Community Time Project". I went to a comm lot all 3 ways (taxi, car, and walking). CTP did what it is supposed to do when I came back home. Plus the new hack version has more options added. So get it while its hot!

All the problems reported about conflicts with crammyboy's Community Time Project should be fixed now. It had nothing to do with this Taxi hack. You have to download a new version of the "Vehicles cost money to drive" hack to fix it.
There should also be a new version of the Taxi hack coming soon which will have an option to charge money for the cab ride home. And as for the suggestion to drop the needs more rapidly for the "Walk To..." commands, I might do that later, but it would be a separate stand-alone hack.

No I am not Sqinge, Dizzy or Atavera in disguise. And I don't think I will be making 100s of hacks like Sqinge did. He was a beast! But this forum used to be closed to new registrations a while back (maybe over a year ago). So I was just lurking but could never post anything.

Well there are instructions in the readme on how to increase the amount of money it charges. I just didn't want the default amount to be too high because it might too hard for new CAS Sims who are just starting out without any job. They might not even enough money to buy a toilet or shower yet, so they may ride the taxi to use the shower at a Gym lot.
I agree that there should be a greater motives drop for walking to a lot. Imaging walking or running 5 miles to get to a museum downtown. You'll probably be out of energy and even a little stinky.

I really don't see the problem with SecuRom. It's not like this is some brand new thing that appeared out of nowhere to ruin Simmers' computers. The copy protection has been around for what, maybe 10 years now. Perhaps it seems "new" to people that only play the Sims 2 and nothing else, but SecuRom definitely isn't new.
For all the gamers out there, you can't just remove it. You will need it for probably 50% of the games that came out in the last few years since it is the most widely used copy protection now.
I remember everyone raging about the StarForce protection, which is way more invasive than SecuRom. But if you're a general gamer (and not just a Sims-only player), then you know all about SecuRom. Personally, I don't mind the protection. Just remove the pirate tools off your system (such as Alcohol 120% and Daemon Tools), and game should load fine for 99% of you.
It may have a few problems with some weird computer setups, but you can fill out that form at the Securom web site and they either send you a better game executable that should work or I think even a code to allow the game to run. I think you guys are blowing this way way way out of proportion.
That's just my 2 cents so feel free to flame me all you want.
Companies have a right to protect their games and they have been doing so for over 20 years.

I am just someone who had a bunch of hacks made over the last few months but never uploaded them for the public, until now.
FreeTime changed the file that is inside of Jordan M. G.'s hack. Even though his hack might "work", it also does not include the fixes and code changes that FreeTime made to that file. So you may be losing other game functionality by using his outdated hack.
I just thought everyone might want a hack that works on all the expansions.
Hope it finds a good home!

Well it is similar to the hack you can find over at http://www.djssims.comI don't think there is an easy way to make fuel efficient or even solar powered cars cost less to drive than a old run-down gas guzzler. Only humans can tell the difference between car models, while Sims and the game files can not. The only way I could think to make the amount of money charged be fair was by the value of the car. But if you want all the cars to cost the same amount to drive just like the hack at djssims does, you can set all the divisor values to 32767. And then set the minimum cost to the amount that every car will cost, such as $30 like the djssims hack does. *** BTW, it turns out that this hack does completely conflict with "antiwatchout". If you try to use both, then you will not be able to drive any car at all. The interaction will just keep getting canceled. But you can also delete the "Sub - Trans To Drive" file from the antiwatchout hack to make both hacks work together if you really like my hack.

TS2: Burnination / Peasantry / Taxi charges money
|
on: 2008 June 11, 14:09:00
|
* Compatibility: FreeTime * Modifications: Semi-Global (affects all taxi cabs and all phones) * Hack Version#: 1.0
Quick Info ~~~~~~~~~~ Riding a taxi will now cost you 5 Simoleons for each trip you take.
Effects ~~~~~~~ Without a hack, the game does not charge you for riding a taxi. Since it is way too easy to become a wealthy Sim due to non-challenging gameplay, this hack helps to make the game more realistic.
It charges you 5 Simoleons each time you attempt to call a taxi on the phone. It works for any phones, including cell phones. In the Phone Menu, you can use any of the following 4 options:
- "Call Taxi" - anything in the "Transportation" menu - "Ask Out on Date" (only when choosing Community Lot with Taxi) - "Another Lot" when you are already on a Community Lot
If you do not have enough funds to ride the taxi, then you will get a message saying that you are too poor to use a taxi and the phone will be hung up. The trip home is free, so you should have no problems getting back home.

TS2: Burnination / Peasantry / No inheritance after elder dies
|
on: 2008 June 11, 05:03:18
|
* Compatibility: All (tested from Base game up to FreeTime) * Modifications: Global (affects all families/lots) * Hack Version#: 1.0 Quick Info ~~~~~~~~~~ Prevents the inheritance money rewarded to the friends and/or family of a deceased elder. When the elder dies, money materializes from nowhere to pay all of that Sim's friends/family. You would think it is life insurance money, but then again, you never pay into life insurance anyway. It is just free money that appears out of nowhere making the game way too easy. Note that there was a hack to do this by "Jordan M. G." at MATY. http://www.moreawesomethanyou.com/smf/index.php/topic,9555.0.htmlBut it is not updated for FreeTime. * Check out the readme.txt file for more information.

TS2: Burnination / Peasantry / Cat litter box cleanable by pregnant Sims
|
on: 2008 June 11, 04:10:10
|
* Compatibility: Pets, Seasons, Bon Voyage, FreeTime * Modifications: Semi-Global (affects all litter boxes) * Hack Version#: 1.0
Quick Info ~~~~~~~~~~ Allows cat litter boxes to be cleaned by all Sims, even if they are pregnant.
Effects ~~~~~~~ Originally, the game did not allow pregnant Sims to clean a litter box.
Some people at the official EA forums said that it was probably coded like that on purpose. They claim that cat litter contains some chemical that is dangerous to pregnant people or their babies. That sounds stupid to me since there are many brands of cat litter, some of which are all natural probably consisting of just saw dust or wood chips. Anyway, a pregnant person doesn't fondle the litter; they just scoop it into the trash and then fill up the box from a bag of litter. So where is the danger? They could even wear gloves when changing the litter.
Now your beloved kitty can have fresh litter even in a house with only one Sim, who just happens to be pregnant.

TS2: Burnination / Peasantry / Allow strays on community lots
|
on: 2008 June 11, 03:14:21
|
* Compatibility: Pets, Seasons, Bon Voyage, FreeTime * Modifications: Global BCON (affects all lots) * Hack Version#: 1.0
Quick Info ~~~~~~~~~~ This hack re-enables stray pets to be allowed to visit all community lots, just like it was in the original unpatched Pets Expansion.
Effects ~~~~~~~ Before Pets patch #2 or #3 (and also Bon Voyage & FreeTime), stray animals would show up on all community lots. This gives you more chances and more time to interact with animals that you might like to adopt. Usually a different stray will appear when you move around from one community lot to a different one. So, this "lot hopping" from one lot to another also gives you more chances to find a specific stray that you might be looking for.
Unfortunately, that new Pets patch (along with Bon Voyage & FreeTime) disabled *all stray visits to all community lots*.

TS2: Burnination / Peasantry / Water "half tile" flowers fix & Water inaccessible flowers fix
|
on: 2008 June 11, 02:45:23
|
* Compatibility: Seasons, Bon Voyage, FreeTime * Modifications: Semi-Global (affects all flower tiles) * Hack Version#: 1.0
Quick Info ~~~~~~~~~~ There are 2 hacks included here.
The first one allows Sims to water one-half tile flower beds, even if a diagonal fence or foundation runs through the tile.
The second one, named df_water_inaccessible_flowers_fix.rar, does the same but also allows you to water all flowers regardless of their location on the lot, including completely inaccessible or blocked ones. It works for the "full tile" flower beds if the tile is completely surrounded by fences, walls, or foundations. And it allows for the disposal of all dead flowers, even if 100% surrounded by fencing or if completely inaccessible (such as using cheats to put flower beds on your roof!).
Effects ~~~~~~~ Originally, the game did not allow any Sim or Hydrobot to water these flowers. It would also prevent you from disposing of such flowers if they died. Having such a flower bed fully surrounded by fence tiles also prevented watering.
Sims will still display a 'door' icon above their heads while watering, which means that they are blocked by a wall/fence/foundation. However, the watering will still be successful and the flowers will get the water they need to live. All animations work perfectly.

TS2: Burnination / Peasantry / No free food with refrigerator
|
on: 2008 June 11, 02:30:49
|
* Compatibility: Seasons, Bon Voyage, FreeTime * Modifications: Semi-Global (affects all refrigerators) * Hack Version#: 1.0
Quick Info ~~~~~~~~~~ All refrigerators will come with 0 food points to start with. So you will have to buy food at a store or as delivery over the phone.
Effects ~~~~~~~ This prevents you from selling your old fridge when it runs out of food and then grabbing a new fridge in buy mode to replace it, getting 200-300 free food points. That method is usually cheaper than buying food for your existing fridge, but it is lame and essentially counts as cheating.
This is my take on the "empty fridges" hacks by Lion at the MATY forum. His hacks make duplicate custom content fridges that show up in the buy catalog. They also prevent you from restocking using groceries from the store (both the custom ones and the override ones).
My hack on the other hand, works for all refrigerators, which should include custom content ones. All it does is set the initial food quanity to 0. The cost of the fridge and its total capacity are still the same. Any fridge can be used and restocked in the usual ways. And it does not make duplicates in the buy catalog.
If you prefer to have to grow all of your own crops and not be allowed to buy groceries from the store, then try Lion's hacks since they are the best option for that type of gameplay.

TS2: Burnination / Peasantry / Vehicles cost money to drive *UPDATED to v1.1*
|
on: 2008 June 10, 23:36:42
|
* Compatibility: FreeTime (v1.13.0.135 through v1.13.0.155) * Modifications: Semi-Global (affects all ownable vehicles) * Hack Version#: 1.1
Update ( 06/14/2008 ) ~~~~~~ Major update of the hack to version 1.1
- Introduces compatibility with crammyboy's "Community Time Project" hack - Fixes "Walk to Lot" & "Walk Home" interactions, which were charged money but shouldn't have been. (FYI: walking actually counts as driving an invisible ownable car, which was the cause of the hack doing a charge for walking) - Adds ability to charge for the "Walk to Lot" & "Walk Home" interactions (both disabled by default) - Adds ability to charge for the "Drive Home" interaction (disabled by default) - Adds separate configuration file _CONFIG, for easier version updates - Adds ability to choose which cost MOD (modification) you desire - Removes problem with "hack loading order" on NTFS drives for cost MODs - Adds MOD-COST.TXT to help would-be hackers write their own cost MODs
Quick Info ~~~~~~~~~~ Driving ownable vehicles will now cost you Simoleons for each trip. The amount charged will vary based on which cost MOD you are using. The charge is usually a percentage related to the vehicle's current depreciated value and/or its initial purchase price. A charge can also be set for Walking to and from Community Lots, which is a new feature of the Bon Voyage expansion.
* You must download a "cost MOD" or else the hack will have no effect and just cause an error preventing you from driving any vehicle!
Effects ~~~~~~~ All ownable vehicles, even custom content ones, should be affected. This means Cars, Trucks, Motorcycles, Mopeds, Scooters, and whatever else should get charged a driving cost by this hack.
It charges you each time you select to drive any owned vehicle. If you do not have enough funds to pay for the vehicle expenses, then you will get a message saying that you are too poor to use it and the action will be canceled. You are only charged for the departure trip from your home lot and for trips from one Comm Lot to another Comm Lot. By default, the return trip to come back home will not charge you any money, or else problems may arise with your Sims being "stuck" on a community lot if they run out of money. However, you can enable charges for driving home if you wish.
* Check out the readme.txt file for more information.
