1  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Anyone?? a different no-cd crack for ikea or k&b stuff? on: 2008 August 08, 20:53:08
Just to avoid the next glaringly obvious question, the no-DVD and the no-CD crack for FT patch 3 are the same.  Either one will work.  I think Elfpuddle mentioned that she could only find the no-DVD crack at gamecopyworld.
okay thanks! But um the one I just got from gamecopyworld says the size is 17 thousand something where as the original exe says it's 22 thousand something? odd.  Grin but thanks it works just fine accept some of my toddlers have lifetime aspirations already. The Aspir toddler in Desiderata wants to be a world class ballerina, lol.

3  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Anyone?? a different no-cd crack for ikea or k&b stuff? on: 2008 August 06, 07:45:07
is there a different no-cd crack for ikea or k&b stuff? or do we just use the one for the last patch?

4  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Is there a new no-CD/no-DVD crack for FT patch #2?? on: 2008 June 08, 08:21:16
does anyone know how I'd go about disabling any cd/dvd burning software?
I tried shutting down all my process with task manager, but my game kept crashing, lol. Anyway I reformatted my computer yesterday. So is it safe to say securom bye-bye? Is it now safe to install everything again and then just playing from a no-cd crack? Is there one for the new patch yet?
5  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: How to get rid of SecuRom, NOW on: 2008 June 08, 03:05:54
If you're formatting an HP back to its ORIGINAL state, you have far bigger spyware issues than SecuROM to deal with. Reformat CLEAN, destroying all previous state, WITHOUT using anything HP provided.

I had everything removed from it. all the "useless crap" as you say. it has just vista home premium, and windows media player, word, my computer, etc. but that's it I found no trace of SecuROM anywhere. so Is it safe to reinstall my sims2 games?
6  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: How to get rid of SecuRom, NOW on: 2008 June 08, 02:45:07
Hey guys, I gotta question?
If I completely reformat my computer, will that remove SecuROM?
Because I reformatted my HP  back to it's original state, from the backup of vista home premium on my D drive. Undecided Huh
7  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: How to get rid of SecuRom, NOW on: 2008 June 04, 08:34:51
Are you all using the original .exe? If not, a malware/spyware program might have rooted them out for you-- that's all I can think. Bizarre  Huh

I used the original .exe and had the new patch installed, and I still couldn't find any traces of securom anywhere. I know I have it I have all eps and sps installed and the latest patch installed . . .er did I took them all off . But I couldn't find any traces of Securom. I have followed every direction for locating it, but I doesn't show up anywhere. Anyone have any suggestions?
8  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: How to get rid of SecuRom, NOW on: 2008 June 04, 08:28:47
To those not finding a trace of it, did you install FT while on the Admin account or on a secondary account? Aren't the files on the non-admin accounts labeled differently? It's somewhere within the first few pages of this thread. Can't look right now.
As for emulation software detected, that is a securom problem. If you installed the second patch, well good luck with that. You need an updated no-cd for it and we don't have one yet. Sim city societies gave me the same hell with the third patch. I had to uninstall then remove securom ...again. If that is just with installing FT and maybe the first patch, then you need to put in the no-cd and then remove securom from your pc.

I only have one account It's the admin account.
9  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: How to get rid of SecuRom, NOW on: 2008 June 03, 05:58:57
I followed all the steps at the beginning of the thread, but I'm stuck on this one:
Step 4: Removal of Securom files under "C:\Documents and Settings". I've unhidden hidden files, and I've unchecked 'Hide protected operating system files', but I still can't see a Securom folder.  I've successfully completed the preceding steps.  Does that mean that Securom is gone, or have I just not been able to find it?

I don't even know how to get to my hidden files, so "c:\Documents and Settings" says access denied.
10  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: How to get rid of SecuRom, NOW on: 2008 June 03, 05:01:25
I followed the removal directions for SecuROM, and I can't seem to find any traces of Securom, anywhere. I'm sure I have it, but it's not showing itself to me. I even tried downloading a program to detect rootkits or something of that nature, the program wouldn't even run(maybe I did it wrong?) I've been searching online for 1 1/2 months, trying to find a way to play my Sims2FreeTime, but nothing seems to work. The weird thing is, it used to before any of the patches game out. I mean sure it had a few bugs, but nothing unlivable. Now my game crashes literally two minutes after I load any house! I t just says "This Application has crashed. The program will now terminate" I deleted all my CC, tried uninstalling and re-installing the game, tried both pacthes(old and new), I tried without patches, nothing works. My computer was just recently re-formatted(a week before loading Sims2) I thought that might get rid of SecuROM, but I don't know I did install the latest patch but my game crashed instantly after neighborhood pan around, so I unstalled all my EPs and SPs again. And now I'm trying to locate the new SecuROM that came with the patch, and FreeTimeEP. But It doesn't show up, when I followed the "REMOVE SECOROM" directions.??  Can anyone help??

Lullabelle, do you have more than one account on your computer? If so, have you checked for securom under each of the accounts? One person in the How to get rid of SecuRom, NOW thread said they could not find it under one account, but it appeared under the other.

no just one and it's the administrator.
13  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Freetime Patch is out on: 2008 June 01, 07:17:41
sorry.
14  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Freetime Patch is out on: 2008 June 01, 07:13:26
also I never could find securom anywhere on my computer. even though I installed the patch, and they say you can't get rid of it by unistalling. Still I followed the securom diretions, and found nothing on my computer, lol. So I don't know if that means I have it on my comp or not. but I can't get it to show by following the removal directions, vista or not
15  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Freetime Patch is out on: 2008 June 01, 07:06:10
It's all good Grin. Have you decided if you want to install the no-cd/dvd crack now or wait until one that is compatible with patch 2 is released?

I'll do it now, lol. But hey I do have one more question, if you will:
um there were to different files in the "no_cd" cracks rar. One of them was "Sims2EP7.exe"  and the other said "vitality.nfo(MSInfo Configuration File) do I put that in there too(TSBin)??
16  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Freetime Patch is out on: 2008 June 01, 06:55:25
Ok, so what you do Lullabelle is create a shortcut from your exe and use that rather than the shortcut which is created for you. That way, the game will bypass the launcher and load directly.

Oh, okay. *thumps forhead* thanks fo being so patient with me, lol. I'm not very good at computer type things.  Grin Cheesy
17  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Freetime Patch is out on: 2008 June 01, 06:49:55
yes the launcher is there how do I disable it?
18  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Freetime Patch is out on: 2008 June 01, 06:31:55
Before you do anything, can you tell us if you have already installed FreeTime or FreeTime & the first patch?

Just FreeTime.  I uninstalled, the new patch, it made my game crash, then re-installed FreeTime.
K. You want to make sure you have the NoCD for version 1.0 of FreeTime. If Windows isn't copying the file and instead just making a shortcut, I think you hold down shift when dragging the exe. Again, not sure exactly what button it is.  Roll Eyes
So I just drag it from the rar folder to my TSBin folder? do I place it on top of my old one?/ and should I make a coopy of the original??

Oh and does anyone one know where I can get the old patch? or should I not get that one? would I need a different version of the crack if i did?

Oh! That helps a lot. Vista is MUSH SMERTER and hides that by default, so it won't confuzzle users. You have to press Shift, Ctrl, or Alt to make it show up, not sure which is which.
thanks! okay now it's an .exe file now how exactly do I replace it with the "no-cd" crack??
21  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Freetime Patch is out on: 2008 June 01, 06:04:32
At the top of the window in which you are viewing c:\program files\EA GAMES\ The Sims2 Free Time\TSBin there is a toolbar with a number of options - File, Edit, View, Favourites, Tools and Help. Click on Tools and then Folder Options. Select the View tab and go to the line where it says 'hide known file extensions'. Uncheck that box. Hit ok.

Remember to back up first!

I don't havea "tools" option in "c:\program files\EA GAMES\The Sims2 Free Time\TSBin"
I have Vista though, if that helps.
22  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Freetime Patch is out on: 2008 June 01, 05:48:33
That's it. It's just because starting with Windows XP(2000?) Microsoft decided to stupify it for people and not show file extensions by default. This is far more trouble than it's worth, as some virus will pretend to be other file types by having two extensions like durvirus.doc.exe. Try replacing it and see if it lets you, if it doesn't, then click on Tools then folder options. Open the View tab, then uncheck hide known file extensions. Hit OK. Now it should work. Oh! Backup the unmodified .exe so that in the unlikely that EA patches again, you'll have it and be ready.

Okay where do I find the "tools\folder optiions" option??
23  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Freetime Patch is out on: 2008 June 01, 05:27:41
Not exactly.

Wait to install FT until updated NoCD crack for patch is available.
Install FT.
Install patch.
replace .exe with crack
install KB
Run game from FT cracked.exe.

Okay, when I go to "c:\program files\EA GAMES\ The Sims2 Free Time\TSBin" I don't see "Sims2EP7.exe" all I see is "Sims2EP7", it says it's an application??? Am I doing something wrong? I'm not sure what I'm supposed to do with the "crack"?? I mean I know I'm supposed to replace the .exe file with the crack but it doesn't have .exe attached to it, and it says it's an application not a file?? I'm confused, lol.
Oh and is there a new "no-cd" crack for the FT patch?
24  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Help?? on: 2008 June 01, 04:52:35
geeze you don't have to be rude. I already looked, I was just asking if anyone could "help" me not insult me, but thanks anyway.

Classic!  Absolutely classic!  And with a misspelling of "jeez!" as well.  Superb!

Doesn't it just take you right back?  I'm all nostalgic all of a sudden.

You're not a sock are you?  Please say you're  a real n00b.

Yes, lol, I am real . . . sock?   Undecided
I guess I don't know how nicely I was treated . . . I just needed help, I have looked through the securom forums, and found numerous no-cd cracks, but i wasn't sure which one to use or where to put it. The instructions on getting rid of securom didn't work for me, and I thought maybe someone here could help me out. I wasn't asking anyone to do the search for me. I guess I'm just not really used to forums and such. Sorry if I offended anyone Smiley

Besides those securom removal instructions didn't help. I can't even find the securom files. I just want to no-cd crack for the freetime patch.
