Coming out of lurk mode to suggest that you could have some cc clothes that have been wrongly ticked for babies.  If you could get the baby to CAS you might see what they are and get rid of them so that this doesn't happen again.  The baby will grow up ok.  Grin

I have the running sims as well and occasionally they will slide across the floor as if it is ice. Nothing seems to stop the running  unless you move them out of the house and back in again but they eventually start up again. Angry

This happens to me quite a lot too. It is annoying. I didn't think of changing their clothes but I found if you move the house to another location it seems to fix it.
4  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: deconstructing the 1am freeze on: 2009 August 21, 05:22:50
The freeze at 1am is different and is caused by the game moving sims about or some such thing.  I believe just giving it time to do its thing is all that's required.  I never had the freeze at 1am but my game used to slow down around then.  This was pre Awesome Story Mode days of course.

The other freeze is a different issue and I believe Pes is tackling it in the latest version of the AM.  It is totally annoying and I don't think your game will ever come back so the task manager is your best bet.

Am using the 16.08.09 9.02pm version.  My families are all failing at school and work.  The first day the school bus didn't turn up.  The second day only the kids from the family I was controlling went to school.  I haven't got to the third day yet Smiley

Sorry. I think I was confusing Household name with Lotname.  I have just checked a brand new game and I see that the household name is named for the people living there but the lot name is something different.  For instance (just to be sure I am talking about the right thing) for the Goths their household name is Goth and their lot name is Goth Manor 3b/3ba whereas Bachelor has a household name of Bachelor but their lot name is Greener & Greener blah blah.

However, I did have a case a few nights ago where I renamed the lot name to the name of the residents and they did get moved.  Eventually they ended up being moved back to their house but that was why I thought the 'ancestral' thing wasn't working.  Perhaps it wasn't in that iteration of the AM.

It hasn't happened again.  In fact no-one has moved now for a while so I guess my neighbourhood is stable.

Does this still work?  Most of mine seem to automatically have their names as the house name anyway and it doesn't stop story mode from moving them. Huh

I have given up worrying now.  I just let them go and eventually they seem to end up back where they started. Cheesy

I am sadly getting the odd freeze.  It happens usually after hours of gameplay and nothing obvious seems to trigger it.  I also get a random crash to desktop.  This is really rare but once again, nothing seems to trigger it and no error message. The screen just goes black and then the desktop pops up again but TS3 has closed itself down.

One more thing I noticed, sims seem to reset themselves when they are picnicking at the tables at the park.  I don't know if they always did this because I rarely take much notice but I did tonight.  It seems if a group is at the table and one wants to leave they all suddenly jump away from the table.

Thanks coconnor.  I tried the second mirror and we have movement again. Grin

Using the latest AM (13 ‎August ‎2009, ‏‎11:52:52 PM) and my sims are just standing around like they have no free will.  They make small movements but cannot fulfil any orders.  I visited several houses and it is the same thing.  I tried switching off storymode progression but it didn't make any difference.  I popped in the AM from yesterday and all is well again.

Well I had lots of babies in my game last night  Grin and I was amazed when Jocasta Bachelor had twins - a boy and a girl.  I have never played that family and only noticed when I moused over their house.  I know you can get boy and girl twins in the game but it requires a bit of fiddling around with watermelon, apples and doctors.  Storymode managed it in one fell swoop on the first night.  Does this mean that you fixed this issue, Pes, and we can expect girl/boy twins in normal woohoo births or is storymode pregnancy different?
12  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: New Build of awsome mod causes my game to crash to desktop. NOT THE DON"T REPORT on: 2009 August 03, 12:23:15
I have patched two computers - a desktop and a laptop  - and have added the updated AM to both.  I have had no trouble at all.  I'm not trying to sound smug or be a smarty pants because there was really nothing to it.  I did not remove any saved games or cc or do anything special.  It just worked.  I'm speaking as a member of the silent majority and hopefully giving assurance that the patch is ok. Cheesy

I hate the reputation system and it nearly drove me nuts trying to work out why some get bad reps and others get good ones. The quieter sims seem to get bad reps just because they would rather read a book than chatter inanely.  I found that just stacking up lots of  "admires" soon takes them out of the red.

Actually I wondered if it had something to do with one of the scholarships the students can get awarded. I always use the same dorm (though different games) and always have born-in-game sims. Sometimes they get bills and sometimes they don't. I have never taken note of what particular scholarships they got prior to going to Uni but I assumed that maybe there was one that covered the cost of Uni.
