1  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: AWESOMEMOD & SCRIPT HACKS: CRASH ISSUES THREAD on: 2009 June 08, 13:42:32
Safe to purge:
CASPartCache.package
compositorCache.package
scriptCache.package
simCompositorCache.package

All in Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3

Thanks so much for answering my question. I had asked that on another forum and no one even took the time to bother answering me. now I know why I always come here. I get the help I need.  Wink

The random crashing seems to occur anytime you change versions of anything. It seems to help if you purge your caches.

What caches exactly do you purge? I don't want to delete the wrong cache file! are these files we don't need that just sit around in the folder? I installed the framework tool and them the awesome mod and followed directions and it didn't work for me. I am running vista 32. I tried the "lifetimehappiness" debug command and all I got was the "unknown command" error message. before I discovered your awesomemod, I had the debugenabler mod from MTS3 installed and the "lifetimehappiness" command works fine. I made sure I uninstalled that mod before I installed yours. can you possibly help me? should I try again with your updated version?
3  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Cheat Box Won't Open!? on: 2008 November 16, 03:28:58
anyone else have this problem before? and if so how can I fix it? I tried to open my cheat box as normal, CTRL Shift C, and it wouldn't open, even after several attempts. I went to buy mode and then back into live mode, etc.... still didn't work! it was working fine earlier today! Huh
4  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: "Package.Sims2Tmp" Files.... where are they supposed to go? on: 2008 November 15, 11:46:32
Thanks! maybe that will explain why I'm getting error messages left and right. I had to enable the boolprop feature to have it on at all times so my game would load up. it wasn't loading up at all before that, now it force loads it and I get error messages every time my game loads. I am not sure which files are the problem and what to delete, but I will delete these junk files like you said and see if that helps! MATY and you in particular are awesome. thanks so much for your help.  Wink
5  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / "Package.Sims2Tmp" Files.... where are they supposed to go? on: 2008 November 15, 11:28:35
ok, I have quite a few "package.sims2tmp" files in my downloads folder and they are various file types, ie; objects, floors, walls, etc.... where exactly are these files supposed to go? I feel like they don't belong in the downloads folder, and I don't know which object, wall, floor exactly it is, so I can't say that it's showing up in my game or not. I just cleaned out my downloads folder and got rid of the "BAK" files, siunce I read somewhere that those are junk and you don't need those? I know I may sound dumb, but I don't want to move files that shouldn't get moved and mess up my game. Huh

thanks for any info back!
6  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Backing up Game Data Files on: 2008 September 26, 14:13:01
ok, call me stupid, but I am not sure exactly which file or files I have to backup for my game. I have all expansion packs up to AL, except for a few stuff packs, and I have to reinstall AL. I would like to save my game, but I'm afraid I'll backup the wrong file. any help would be appreciated.
7  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Weird Roommate Glitch in AL on: 2008 September 24, 00:13:59
Ok, I have this issue, and I don't know if anyone else does, but I have someone move in, and it shows their picture in the lower left hand corner next to my sims' pic, but this so called "roommate" is nowhere to be found! they have motives, and I have to do the "maxmotives"  cheat or else their motives go down as normal, (I have a problem with my lots not loading, so I read somewhere that having the testing cheat on at all times may pinpoint the error/object, and force load the lots. otherwise I cannot play my game because it just endlessly loads and loads, so I assume this is why I have control of my roommates without using the pets cheats) so to make a long story short, I have invisible roommates! this sucks, since I can't kick them out, or anything else. is there a fix for this? or does anyone have any ideas?
8  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: Freetime Patches on: 2008 September 18, 15:06:32
I wonder if the 3rd patch is giving me problems then, because I have no hacks installed, and the other day when I tried to load a house/lot,  it would just load, and load and load and load, and never completely load my house! then today, when I tried to load Desiderada Valley, the game crashed wheile it was loading the neighborhood. my game was fine a few days ago, and it just started doing this out of nowhere. do you have any ideas?
9  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Freetime Patches on: 2008 September 18, 14:55:41
Is there a 2nd patch for Freetime out?
10  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Sims are frozen in apartment lot on: 2008 September 03, 19:38:50
I have a problem with my sims not moving when I enter a lot (apartment life) they don't respond to commands or anything. I can't even play my game. when I try to enter a lot (house) and try to load a house, the game just loads and loads and loads.......any suggestions?
11  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Uninstalled AL and now all of CC is gone! on: 2008 August 29, 14:49:41
I uninstalled and reinstalled AL because my game would get to the neighborhood screen and then I'd get the message "the blah blah has crashed the application will now terminate".  now all of my CC and most of the files in the Sims 2 folder are all gone! I am going to uninstall all of my expansion packs (I have all) and reinstall. In which order should I install them?

13  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Is there a way to change sims outfits? on: 2008 August 23, 16:59:25
I tried the hack conflict detection utility, and it must not be compatible with vista, because It wouldn't work for me! could you suggest another program I could use? or suggest  someplace I can download hack updates?
14  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Is there a way to change sims outfits? on: 2008 August 23, 14:13:35

15  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Is there a way to change sims outfits? on: 2008 August 23, 14:08:28

16  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Changing Neighborhood Terrain...I have an annoying problem!!!! on: 2008 August 23, 14:06:27
I hope someone can help me with this. How can I hange my neighborhood terrain from "waterworld" back to normal grass, or desert? one day my neighborhood magically turned into "waterworld"! I want my neighborhood terrain back to normal!I tried the cheat (terraintype)and it changed the terrain ( I chose desert) but the roads still remained water. NOW, when I entered my lots, again I saw water for my neighborhood terrain! when I went back to neighborhood view, it was desert, I have no idea what is going on here, but it is annoying the heck outta me, and I just want my terrain back to normal. Please don't laugh at me....help me!!! please? Embarrassed
17  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / A Hack to Replace the Cheat on: 2008 May 08, 00:58:13

I will try that path instead and see if it works. I have vista, and I can't seem to find my docs and settings folder, where would I find that? I'm trying to install custom neighborhoods with just the terrain.....I downloaded some really cool ones and I can't use them! I'm about to scream! I've heard different ways to install these things, and now I'm all confused and don't know which is the right way to install! sorry I'm being so difficult, I just want to get my hoods' installed.  Shocked thanks for your help.
20  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Help with installing custom neighborhoods! on: 2008 May 05, 02:27:35

I've read the same thing over and over again, the installation directions, and blah blah blah, but for some reason these hoods aren't showing up in my game! I'm so annoyed...I'd like to use them, but you know, I can't get anyone to help me. any suggestions? any tips? thanks! Angry
