Ouch! That's right! I already had the problem there with stuck delivery person, who kept reappearing and I could never get the delivery. And now I hired a repairman! Oh yes, he was to come "first thing in the morning" but somehow... I think it wasn't THAT early and he should have been there by now. So it must be it.

Geeez... so if I get it right, now I have some 335 repairmen somewhere in void? So what exactly should I do?

I had a lot that spontaneously generated hundreds of repairmen.  They were standing all over the damn place, and the lot came to a near stop.  I was finally able to get it to pause, then I had to delete them all, one by one.  No idea what caused it, and I haven't had the problem since.
2  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Dark computer screens in Nightlife on: 2006 March 01, 11:03:37
ALL computer's I have tried have this problem including all 3 Maxis ones and any custom ones . If th computer is placed outside the screen is bright as it should be , but the normal thing is obviously to place a computer indoors and that's when you can see how dull the screens are compared to how they were previously . The screens are bright enough if games are played on the computers because then they use a different video file . But when sims check their emails or chat on their computers etc the relevant screens are now extremely dull .

Yeah, I've noticed that, too.  They look like they're off, but there's a bluish glow on the floor around them, and if you click on it, one of the pie menu options is 'turn off'.  If you zoom in really close, the monitor screen is a very dark brownish black.  I don't know what caused this, either.  I used to be able to tell if a computer was left on just by looking at the screen.  Now I have to look for the glow.
3  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Memories- do they give my sims a slow death? on: 2006 March 01, 10:38:39
I don't know.  Undecided  Maybe they serve a purpose somewhere, but I find memories to be irrelevant. I don't understand why people care what their Simmies' memories are.  I'd be happy if mine didn't have any at all.

However, there is one instance in which I wish they had a memory, but they don't.  I can never remember what major my Simmies had when they were in college, so I can't remember which jobs were ideal for them upon graduation!  (I'm old.  I can't remember much of anything too well anymore.  Huh)  Maybe their major doesn't really matter?  Does the game really tie the two together?  It would be nice if there was a memory something like; "Declared Major: Philosophy".  I suppose it's not a very "memorable" event.  LOL!   Cheesy  But still, it would really be helpful once they get back to the neighborhood.  I don't work with them one at a time.  Usually I graduate a whole dorm full before I go back to the main neighborhood.

I love that story..The nannies in my opinion get away with too much, one left my baby in his dirty nappy for hours and only changed it just before mum and dad got home, but you can't do anything to them.  They walk out as if they are the epitomy of good parenting.  And get paid. Shocked

I had a real-life daycare provider do the same thing.  I always wondered why my daughter's diapers weighed 100 lbs. when I'd pick her up.  I started counting the diapers I provided when I dropped her off, and the number was the same when I picked her up.

I've had babies getting stuck to the parents several times now.  Of course, I've had a lot of babies being born in this neighborhood lately since all my sim kids graduated from college and got married.  But another glitch I've noticed that is starting to annoy me is when sims get a book out of the book case and somehow their arm gets stuck straight out with the hand in a curve as if they are still holding the book.  This makes for some very strange animations until somehow it gets reset.  If it bugs me enough, I'll go ahead and force an error on them to reset them.  I also get a lot of sims with their eyebrows stuck when they are dancing and their arms stuck bent at the elbow from playing chess.  It all seems to be cosmetic and doesn't hurt anything, but it is very annoying and messes up my pictures.  Sure it makes for some goofy pics, but then I want to take a picture of my sim teaching her child to talk, and she looks weird clapping one hand against the air.  Tongue

I get that, too. Like their arms will be pointing out behind them.  They look really goofy. It's come in handy sometimes, though. I would get plates stuck in Uni, and no one could clean them up, and of course you can't delete them. I'd pick them up, and I could sometimes get them to 'stick' to a person just getting up out of a chair, and then when they straighten up, it disappears.

BTW...Hi, all.   Smiley  New here.  One of those 'strong, silent' types that reads all the posts for years, but rarely posts anything on any of the sites I frequent.
