Where is the autosecretdoor hack? I don't see it in the AL Director's Cut, and searching the site for "autosecretdoor" only produces this thread as a result.

TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: Accidentally deleted Maxis mesh

I just tried replacing all the files in the 3D folder, and the mesh is still gone. (I have the DVD version of the original game, so the files weren't in compressed.zip, they were just in a folder within the disk. I copied all the Sims.packages and texture.package and put them into the original Sims 2 folder (in my C:/Program Files/EA Games/Sims 2/..../3D folder.) The only changes I noticed when I restarted the game were that my custom content was suddenly disabled, that it gave me an offer to restart Game Tips, and that the Riverblossom Hills neighborhood, which I'd deleted, was regenerated. I don't think I broke anything, but all the one-piece swimsuits are still gone.
What did I do wrong?

TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Accidentally deleted Maxis mesh

Being stupid, I accidentally deleted the Maxis adult female swimsuit mesh. For some reason, it showed up as starred custom content, so, being silly, I actually thought it was custom content, and, well...oops, I broke it. Having done a search on this topic, I know I need to go into the compressed.zip part of the Sims 2 disk (presumably the original disk, since the thing I deleted was the blue flowery one-piece) and extract some packages, but I don't know how to tell which packages I need to unzip and extract. (Also, I extract the package to C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\The Sims 2\TSData\Res\3D, right?)
I really don't want to have to do a full re-install, which I know would fix the problem, but would suck, so help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks for the help.

11. Add 3 uni's to one 'hood
Is adding 3 BV vacation subhoods a VBT? I haven't yet played the game since installing BV. Should I restore from backup (i.e. pre-BV install) and add only one instead? I think you have misunderstood something somewhere. As noted in previous posts in this thread, the "add 3 uni's" was a bad thing since the Uni's add a lot of dormies, NPCs and other character files. This used to lead to overpopulation, which was a big issue back in the Base and Uni days. This was a character files issue. By itself, it did not *glitch* the game per se. It is not a problem to attach all 3 BV vacation subhoods. If you use the clean templates you can control the number of locals and tourists that "reside" in these subhoods. In my game, I did not bother to use the clean templates, so I have the fugly EAxis tourists and locals (blonde haired asians, etc.). You probably want to make sure that you have the latest "antiredundancy" hack installed (search for the thread on this), or you will get incessant spawning of tour guides and charlatans. But most of us with BV, I think, likely have all 3 vacation sub-hoods (and possibly a custom one or two) installed already without problems (well, without problems associated with that specifically anyway). Thanks for clarifying. Part of my confusion was because of some confusion from reading the clean templates thread (confusion has since been rectified, but at the time of the above post I wasn't sure exactly how many character files the game was going to spawn if I installed only a clean V001 and not the other 3 clean BV templates, since I did want EAxis locals), but part of it was because I wasn't sure if actually linking that many subhoods was in any way bad. As previously noted, I do have antiredundancy installed. *wanders off to hit "thanks" button*

11. Add 3 uni's to one 'hood
Is adding 3 BV vacation subhoods a VBT? I play with clean templates and noregen/antiredundancy, and after installing BV last night I stupidly added all three vacation subhoods to one neighborhood (a clean, custom 'hood that's the only one I play). I only did this because EAxis gave me the "add all" button, and because I stupidly assumed they wouldn't have the "add all" option if it *would* screw up my game. I haven't yet played the game since installing BV. Should I restore from backup (i.e. pre-BV install) and add only one instead? (If so, are there any recommendations as to which subhood I ought to install?) This neighborhood does have several hundred character files (I'd have to check with SimPE, but my guess is between 300-500 pre-BV install, and while I know you can theoretically have thousands of files without borking the game, I also don't want to mess up this 'hood, since I do have a lot of time invested in it.)

TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / LTR not changing
|
on: 2007 February 23, 17:32:34

This problem was noted by someone over a month ago in the Podium but not resolved (at least not on that thread.) The problem is that, since I installed Pets, LTR doesn't change over time; it remains steadily at 0 (or whatever it's been initially set at.) Searching the BBS produces one person who claims it's a hack conflict, but doesn't list the hack (which isn't a lot of help; given the number of hacks I have, taking them out even using the halving method - take half out, then half of the half, etc) will take forever. I can provide a list of all the hacks in my system; however, if anyone has any suggestions/knows what may be causing this, I'd really appreciate it. This doesn't seem to produce an error log; therefore, I can't post one.
I have all EPs and SPs, although I haven't installed the Pets patch. Most of my hacks come from MATY, although I do have SimWardrobe's automatic bill payer, a few XPTL hacks (mostly relating to Pets), Smonaff's buyable potions, and Christianlov's kitten/puppy creator and pet age changer, as well as the kitten killer. I've already searched for hacks with the words 'rel' or 'decay' in them, figuring that they'd be the most likely culprits, but the only hacks I have with those words are the askrelstatuscontroller and askrelstatus. As far as I know, all my hacks are up to date.
Again, if anyone can help, I'd really appreciate it.
Thanks, Julie
