AwesomeMod Updater folder
Do you mean Documents\AwesomeMod Updater?
Yes
2  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: AwesomeMod Updater (v2.4 - Updated 01/07/2010) on: 2011 January 12, 01:22:55
Problem - I use the aweconfig.package and placed it in the AwesomeMod Updater folder - but the way you have it configured now, the package is being deleted - can you configure it Not to delete this package?
The updater should not delete aweconf.package. I didn't configure it like that, and aweconf isn't mentioned in the whole file. It only replaces awesome.package and does nothing else with the files in there. I use the aweconfig myself, and it works fine. Anyone else having this problem?
I tried it again and aweconfig.package was deleted from the AwesomeMod Updater folder again. Any help is appreciated guys!

4  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: AwesomeMod Updater Revived (v1.8.1 - Updated 10/22/2010) on: 2010 October 23, 02:07:38
Hi,

I just got a new computer with Windows 7 64bit and have installed Sims 3 with all of the EP's, SP's & Stuff packs so far. I had been using the Updater reviver when I had Sims 3 on XP without any problems, but now I can't get it to work, and Awesomemod won't even work without using the Reviver.

My Sims 3 folders are located in C:\Program Files (x86) and my "The Sims 3" folder is located in "C:\Valued Customer\My Documents\Electronic Arts (do I need to move this?).

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

Hey witch - can you tell me how to create the Riverview.world file?

I've tried a couple of different ways, without any success.

Thanks!

I started a fresh Riverview and made Skip Broke sacred, but he is aging.  I want to be able to marry him off to Brandi Broke, but He'll be a senior before they even meet at the rate he's going.  Do I need to use a different code to stop him from aging (that won't affect everyone else in the hood)?
A code actually exists for this. Type "resetage [<target>]". This isn't a documented code, but I added it awhile back and it will reset the target sim to the beginning of their age duration, useful for countering CAS stagger on a sim you wanted as freshmeat.

I like that!  Thanks Pescado.  Will try it out.

Thanks SarahMK - I had downloaded the carriage replacement for my Victorian neighborhood when it first came out - should have known they'd find a way to hide the cars!

Hey Everyone!

Got any ideas on how I can hide the stupid-ass cars in the neighborhood view?  It ruins the whole "deserted island" feel I'm trying to get.

Also...thanks to everyone who's uploaded CS converted stuff.  You're all pretty awesome!

11  Awesomeware / Playsets & Toys / Re: Salvaged Stories Crap on: 2008 February 10, 22:04:34
Easel/Poker conflict with the existing Real-Sims versions, as mentioned before, and therefore standard ripping procedures are inapplicable as a cleanrip cannot be produced. Modular staircases cannot be ripped without core file editing, plus they reportedly conflict.
Probably showing my stupid as well, but can't you just set a new GUID for the modular stairs, as well as the easels? The easels would take more work...you'd need the easel and the canvas, then a lot of BHAVs have to be changed. If you don't want to muck with those, I can if given the files. I've already done it five times over for my own custom easels. I've not done build mode objects but it seems like it should be similar.

Great idea Zazazu.  If ripping isn't possible, is there some talented recoloring person that would be willing to rcolor the hot tub?
I know I downloaded a replacement for the easel paintings somewhere.  Would something like that work?

12  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Please Help Me De-Fuglify Castaways Stories on: 2008 February 04, 07:01:22
I really want to get rid of the fugly characters shipped with Castaways.  I have default face templates installed, but the fuglies still appear.
Will it work for me to just delete the character files in the C:\Program Files... area or do I have to create an empty template too?

Any help would be greatly appreciated, please keep it fairly simple - I have all of the cleaned up templates for Sims 2 and love it.

Thanks!

thanks to all for the personal reports on some of the hacks i listed!

ugh, you and me both Emma!  i hope someone will come up with a new hack to replace that one; i think a lot of people can't stand the regular maxis maternity wear and don't want to bother with extra meshes needed to cute up the pregnant sims.

Hey guys, I'm using maternity replacements I got from TSR last year.  I think they were Windkeepers.  They're the same style but nicer colors (small patterns, pastel colors).  They'll work for now until some kind, generous person can fix Squinge's hack.

9/15 - I've uploaded the file for those of you that are interested.  http://cheapfilehost.com/file.php?file=6f14a363c985e415707b61582daa9e3b

Fat D - I can't live without you're clothes changing system.  Its the one of the first things I place on a new lot.

I recently discovered and fell in love with VJ Development.  She has 80+ lots that are replicas of many Chicago Area neighborhoods.

Nope.  I just played with it.  It works like a combination fence/level.

Good luck.

What is the overhang over the entrance way?

The exterior is very nice looking. I love some of what you did with it. The inside is a little sparse for me, but I like the idea of what you've got here. I think I may steal a few of your ideas. Smiley

Thanks.  Be my guest.  I've furnished it much more with CC in my game.
The overhang is in the Build mode under the Awnings.  Its the first one "Shade a Sim Awning".

I made this with TwoJeffs ACR in mind (but I left the hot tub placement for you).  Plenty of room for expansion.  Feel free to change it to your liking.

Bribe...well, since I don't know how to mod (I'm more of an idea person), I offer to make the Ultimate MATY Community Lot.  Built to the Judge's and El Presidente's specifications of course.

Sim Away my MATY's!

My contribution.  I ran across this yesterday at MTS2.  Ughh!

I wish people would learn how to turn the lights on when they take interior shots.  Or is it that dark?

Need I say more?

MOD EDIT: Fix sizing, and remove the useless links on the images.
22  TS2: Burnination / Peasantry / Re: Empty and Cleaned-up Templates. [UPDATED] on: 2007 May 15, 23:53:36
I think you'll need to use the cleaned up templates for Uni rather than the empty ones.  But Sarah should probably confirm that.

I just ran the Hack Conflict program from Sims Wardrobe and there are some conflicts listed between MATY hacks.  I always read the RTFM's the Awesome Ones include with the downloads, but I must have missed something.
Are these conflicts something I should be concerned about? Which hacks should I remove?

Being more of a lurker then a participant, I can safely tell you that you've come to the right place to learn about the game.  Follow their advise and you should do ok.
One thing no one mentioned is to make backup copies of your game, especially prior to downloading hacks.  I've created a folder just for hacks, each creator has their own folder it makes it easier when a new EP comes out and you have to update your hacks.
SaraMK's cleaned up hoods are great.  I downloaded the hoods that have the cleaned up Maxis families in it the first time, so I could experiment with that hood.  Then I started creating my own.

Good luck and have fun.
