TS2: Burnination / Peasantry / Re: Clean and fixed Uber-Megahood! FINISHED!

I've been playing the Megahood for maybe 6 days now, and I haven't run across any problems. I've spent a lot of time on the UNI areas, and no problems. For some reason, Sim State seems emptier than I remember, but I couldn't remember who I thought was missing.
Quick question...should I be able to resurrect Michael or Skip? Or should they be left dead? I didn't see anything in this thread about rather or not to leave them dead.
Either way, thank you again for this. It's really nice to have been playing the hood for so long and to ONLY have 988 character files!

She was from BDC. I heard she was from one of the families who lived in an apartment, and that I heard her tombstone was found on a random community lot.
Really? That was Maxis' doing? I have had AL for a while, but never really looked at all the goings-on at BDC. Seems weird to dump a random gravestone on a random community lot.

I played with Lothario and Caliente for a while and there were no issues. I did notice after taking Lothario to a community lot in Belladonna Cove (the art museum) there was a gravestone next to the pay phone. The name the grave gave was Olivia Reilly. I can't remember a family with this person, but I haven't played BDC much.

I used WinRAR to extract the files. I redownloaded the Megahood this afternoon, extracted it without issue, and found the same Peterson lot broken. So, I evicted Jessica (which was successful) and then attempted to bulldoze the lot. The game hung and I exited the game. I then removed all neighborhoods, except for the Megahood out of my neighborhoods folder, including the Maxis EP 'hoods. I then loaded the Megahood and the trailer park and blue square were gone. I then went to BDC and saw that the trailer park was there, but it was unoccupied. So, I moved that lot to the Bin and attempted to place the occupied lot and found this: This seems to be the only problem that I've found, so far. Could this lot just be deleted and Jessica written off as a loss? ETA: Nevermind...I am blind.

ChaavikYes, I believe the Goth house sits in a large block without streets on the sides of the house. There is normally only one other Maxis premade house next door to the Goth's and that is it.
I will delete the Megahood and redownload and check out the Calliente and Lothario lots, Riverblossom, and the Peterson trailor. I will post what I find tonight.

Only thing that comes to mind is that lot numbers got mixed up upon adding colleges and such (which of course, shouldn't happen). Or it's the dreaded lot 24/124...
If you mean when I added the other districts, then no...the lot was there when I first loaded the neighborhood up and before I added anything. I hope that makes sense and/or is helpful for you.

I downloaded the Megahood this evening and installed it. The extraction seemed to work fine and I was able to load the neighborhood and attach the UNIs, downtown and vacation districts just fine. I did notice that Jessica Peterson and her trailer park (from BDC) lot was placed behind the Goth house in the Pleasantview neighborhood and behind the lot was a light blue square. I attempted to add the lot back to the Bin and the game hung. Was Jessica placed there for a reason and I should have left her there? I reviewed the thread and didn't see any mention of her. Here's a picture of the lot and the blue square, if it helps. Thank you for doing this. I sure it was/has been a lot of work for you.

V1.0 = For AL no patch V1.16.0.187 = For AL patch 1 V1.16.0.194 = For AL patch 2
Thank you, Xiomberg. Now, do I need all 3? I have not downloaded either patch, as of yet. Do these build on each other, or do I just used the last(est) version? Again, so for the noobness, I have not used an EAxis patch before, due to the horror stories post-patch. But I figured it was bad enough this time to actually try it.

Stupid question, which one do I download? I see there is a V 1.0, V1.16.0.187 and a V1.16.0.194. Does anyone know the difference? Or do I need all 3? Sorry for the noob question, just trying to avoid having to post in at the Podium when I end up breaking my game.

TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Graphics Fail after AL

I have been having issues with my game since installing AL. Sometimes I can have the game up for hours and it's fine, other times it's up for a couple of minutes and the graphics go all to hell. First, the screen flickers and then the screen gets blocky and tiles. Then the tiles will flashes through the different textures. Icons from the control panel show up all over the screen and all sorts of other fantastic. This only started after AL. I have tried several different drivers and have current ones installed now. I have had a problem with my laptop getting hot, so I use a program to force the fans on high and use an external fan base.

TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / AL's Walk In Closets *Resolved*
|
on: 2008 September 01, 13:06:49

Originally, the closets wouldn't work at all after installing AL (I installed the game w/o hacks, and added them later). I read here in the forums that Squinge's preg hacks were not working and took them out. Now the closets function like dressers, but the woohoo functions and try for baby aren't showing up. Any suggestions? Or is there some sort of hack conflict scanning program to use?
Nevermind...buymaternityclothes.package was the conflict.

TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / 'Walk To...' Sends me to community lot edit screen.
|
on: 2008 June 30, 14:52:14
|
I have all EPs/SPs/ and current FFS Director's Cut and ACR.
I have been attempting to send Sims from the Asian vacation hotels to a community lot via the 'Walk to...' option. When the Sim walks off the lot, the load screen runs and then the game loads to the edit screen for the community lot I tried to send them to. I can't click the 'play' button, so I exited to the neighborhood screen. But, when you load the hotel back up, the Sims walks back onto the lot like he was just returning from his travels.
Any ideas? Thoughts?
Thanks!

Oh no, I figured my game would be beyond craptastic if the original meter was borked. I am refering to the one that FT added. It seemed to stop filling up all together after I moved a pair of Sims to college. It dosen't seem as though it's really that big of a deal anyway...I was just asking to see if it was a sign of a bigger problem.

YAY! I am a winner! The only other problem/weirdness that I've seen is that the college progress bar doesn't fill out correctly (as if the Sim didn't gain the necessary skills), but I see that's a common, not important issue. If you truely want to have a game as fantastic as mine , the hacks I have are the Pes's Director's cut (minus antigardenlag), Squinge's prego stuff, ACR and a talk faster to plants hack form MTS2

I searched and Googled first, I swear!
Has anyone else encountered a stuck LTW meter? No matter how many of their wants I fulfilled, the meter will not rise. It's stuck about halfway. I know it was working before because I have maxed it out with a couple of Sims. Any ideas?
