Yes, I play. The toddlers were certainly a shock, because they just dropped them without as much as a hint or a leak or anything. They're actually well done, some say even better than the other life stages. I do think people play, they just hang out on other sites because this site is in sleepy mode.

Just reporting that the link is dead. Very dead.
3  TS4: The Pee-ening / Insert Amusing Name Here / Re: Origin screws my computer on: 2015 February 17, 14:10:00
The computer runs really slow, hangs, lags and the updates for MS Word and Windows freeze and will not update.  When restarted Word will no longer open.
Origin can use up a relative large amount of memory, so if your computer is already cluttered with processes, viruses and possibly old, I'm not surprised your computer gets 'screwed'. Also, if you're using a laptop, it's possible your computer is also getting too hot beside all the other problems.
You can try cleaning your computer or you can upgrade your computer hardware and OS.  Search for 'clean windows x'  or 'speed up windows x' (replace x with the windows version you have) on google.

hidden woohoo skill books.

Say what?
I haven't found them myself, but someone found it in debug mode -  it's most likely a non-finished object - somewhere along the line they decided against having a woohoo skill visible. Such a shame, that would have been cool.
5  TS4: The Pee-ening / Insert Amusing Name Here / Re: "Really needs to pee" analysis on: 2014 December 09, 23:48:22
TS4 really has alot of interactions, but many of them are mood dependent. The 'Kiss passionately' interaction don't appear unless the sim is flirty, and you either have to do basic romantic interactions like flirt first, or have an object with a flirty aura in the room. In that sense interactions also become room based. While Basura has a point that some interactions appear to be missing, there are also interactions that have been added that before there were none.
As for woohoo, it gets more interesting when the sim has had it a couple of times - it's definitely a hidden skill - apparent also by hidden woohoo skill books.

The moodlets are the main way to discern how a sim is feeling, and while there are no shortage of animations to go with them, they manage to highlight the lack of animations aswell. Probably because when we see a sim is sad or bored, we expect them to show it, and when other moodlets overpower those emotions, the only way to know is by the moodlet icons. The emotion system is advanced under the hood, but the devs have had problems making it apparent - to some degree. Making something more complex makes it harder to tune.

For me personally, it has been a matter of playing to become used to the way the game displays emotions etc. The one thing I do want more of is emotion animations of the individual sims when they have a certain moodlet that not necessarily is the primary one. If a sim displays Happy, but also is still a little sad, I want them to show the sadness with a short animation or facial expression. Otherwise the emotion system is pretty cool.

I use the Reloaded release with patches successfully without ever installing Origin. And I don't have to reinstall the game either, just apply patch and cracked exe and I'm good to go. Anything else is lies and propaganda.
7  TS4: The Pee-ening / Insert Amusing Name Here / Re: L&P: TS4 CAS Demo | Full TS4 Game Leaked on: 2014 October 24, 23:28:34
Very happy to see a reloaded release, would love to switch over.  Only thing is I'm not sure how either system deals with patches right now.  Anyone know how to patch either Origin Cracked or Reloaded game?
Would you not patch normally as you would any other pirated game? Replace the crack with real .exe, patch, re-crack?

Unless I am missing something, don't you need to use Origin to install patches for TS4?  I was wondering the same thing, are the patches available independently of Origin? especially as the latest reloaded is supposedly Origin free.

Didn't even think about that. I have Origin so it doesn't matter. I'm also starting to get curious as to how updates and the pirated game will work.

I use the scene release of the game, and I don't even have origin installed, and I could update without any problems. The latest patch was released just as the game was, so no problem there. I didn't even have go back to original .exe before patching (actually I didn't even think about it).You just have to remember to copy over the crack again (from the original release) after you have updated.
8  TS4: The Pee-ening / Insert Amusing Name Here / Re: New patch rollout - ghosts, pools and careers on: 2014 October 02, 21:59:04
Whoa, I'm kind of impressed that EA is at least trying. I guess we'll wait and see what we will actually get, and how well it works. Well, maybe impressed is too big of a word - relieved is closer to the truth.
9  TS4: The Pee-ening / Insert Amusing Name Here / Re: Recommendations for a good FPS limiter? on: 2014 September 16, 16:23:10
I've got a GForce GTX 560 and I don't think I understood your question. The game runs fine and normal it's just that (after a while) my GPU fan goes crazy.

<edit> I've Googled vsync and adjusted my computer appropriately. Hopefully things will be better from now on.
Make sure you set vsync to 'force on' if it doesn't work. But I gather you probably found that out through google. I used the same technique with Sims 3 so it should work.
10  Awesomeware / Armoire of Invincibility / Re: TOOL: 3Booter, the Incooperative Game Kicker on: 2011 December 17, 18:18:57
For anyone having trouble with the booter not working - check the graphics settings and set vertical sync to 'force on'. It should lower the vertical sync to your current screen fps setting. Mine went down to 60fps. I haven't tried without the booter though, as I'm keeping it in for now.
11  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: Graphic Glitches with Windows 7 [SOLVED] on: 2011 May 12, 00:53:38
I know the header says 'solved', but incidentally I run the exact same setup as you, with the same graphics card and OS, and I have no problems. I'd advice running a clean setup of the drivers, i.e. return to default settings without any of your saved preferences. The nvidia setup will let you run that from the advanced settings when installing the drivers. Maybe running the setup in safe mode is advisable, but you shouldn't have to with win 7, but you never know.
12  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: clothes buy crashes the game on: 2011 May 12, 00:44:54
I'm not sure if this will help, and I'm not sure if there's some game/processing/arbitrary reason that it shouldn't be done, but this thread over at GoS gives instructions for forcing the game to recognize RAM over 2GB. Actually, it's just the instructions for TS3, used on TS2. I tried it on my game and nothing terrible has happened. I haven't noticed any huge difference, but I don't have that much cc compared to others.
Thanks for the info, I still need to do some more testing, but it actually seems to be working. I used both methods - forcing the game to actually use more RAM, and also to set the DEP, and the game definitely runs more smooth. Theoretically the game must have tried to access something outside of the data memory range and crashed. Maybe.
13  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: clothes buy crashes the game on: 2011 April 29, 10:09:46
Exception logs are useless. The problem is clearly bad CC, or perhaps too much of it. Remember that having 12 GBs of RAM is useless here: Sims 2 is a 32bit program that will only comprehend 2. With 1 GB of crap and godknowshowmuchelse, you're probably blowing out some RAM.
I didn't know that. I figured it was partly the amount of cc that was the problem, but I didn't know Sims 2 itself could be the culprit. I do have alot of crap in my downloads folder. This game is starting to piss me off.

@toad, looking in saved sims is a good advice, so I'll do that.
14  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / clothes buy crashes the game - SOLVED on: 2011 April 24, 14:08:49
For some time now I've experienced random crashing when using the clothingtool - same crashes have happened when I load body shop outside of the game.
The weird thing is it is never at the same spot, but very much random. Sometimes nothing happens (if I'm lucky), but eventually it will happen.
I've removed chache files, tried running with cheatsenabled to get it to generate an error - I've also tried to remove custom clothing to see if anything changed, and it seemed at first.
But adding files again, I can't seem to narrow down to the culprit, because it doesn't matter what part of the massive amount of custom clothing I add, the game crashes. (an estimate of the total amount of custom clothes is about 1 gb)
It seems my game can't take that amount, which is weird, since it's a completely new build with a great gcard and 12 gb of RAM.

I only got the game to generate an exception log, which doesn't tell me much.
Does anyone have an idea what the problem could be? How do I find the offending cc when binary search doesn't seem to work?

16  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Installing WA - selecting language? on: 2010 January 02, 18:07:03
I've been trying to install the English speaking version of WA, but every time I mount the .iso and start the installation, it refuses to let me choose language. Is this normal behavior, and if so how do I make it install the English version? Sims 3 Base game is of course installed as the English version. Do I have to change the language in regedit after the installation, or does it have something to do with skuversion.txt? (my regional code is currently 2) Can I change the regional setting before installing WA? I can't imagine I am the only one having this problem, but hey I could be wrong. I tried tampering with regedit and the skuversion without really knowing what I was doing, but I ended up having to remove the game and start over.
17  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: My game freezes for no apparent reason. on: 2009 October 15, 15:04:39
Check if there are any programs or processes running that could interfere with the game. What inter graphics card is it? It's possible that some cards are just not compatible. I know for my nvidia card I had to download a fix for vista - maybe there's something similar for intel?

Check if you need to update drivers for your motherboard. That usually includes drivers for RAM and the Hard drives.

19  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: Random Assorted Crashes: HALP! on: 2009 July 17, 20:41:15
Do you have a lot of CC? Compare the size of your RAM to that of your Downloads folder and see what you get. If Downloads folder is bigger, you can increase the virtual memory and the random crashes should stop. I have no idea if that is your issue here, but it's worth a try.
20  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: Awesomod discussion/questions/helpful tips thread on: 2009 June 27, 19:31:54
I managed to get the patch beyond the skuversion.txt, but now the patch stops at TSLHost.dll. I stopped the launcher from phoning home, could that be the reason?  Roll Eyes

Edit: nope, that wasn't it. I let it phone home and it patch still can't get past TSLHost.dll.
Edit2: Okay I managed to patch the game - I replaced the TSLHost.dll with the one on the Razor disc, and that did it.
21  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: How do you protect your right to piracy? on: 2009 June 14, 13:44:35
Step one is, as everyone here has already informed you, getting a better ISP. Secondly you have to make sure you make it hard for the ISP find out what you are doing, since they automatically monitor certain types of traffic. If you're not already using a torrent client that has protocol encryption and tunneling options, you should switch to one that has it - it is also good for the ISP's that are throttling torrent traffic. To let you seed for longer times, you can change the seeding options in your client.

As for further security when torrenting, a secure VPN service is the best (unless you have other connections) - they are usually not pricey and more and more is popping up. The load times get slower, but nobody will know what you are doing.

Tor is not to be recommended - torrenting over the Tor network is very slow (slower than a vpn) and the network isn't designed for that kind of traffic - you might even piss some people of by using it for torrents.
22  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: CC in use. What can be removed without exploding stuff? on: 2009 May 14, 22:16:05
So if you remove the career and the sim that had it end up without any career at all when you load the game again, you're safe?
23  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: CC in use. What can be removed without exploding stuff? on: 2009 May 09, 15:17:00
Isn't it correct that removing custom careers might screw things up, if you don't make sure the sims using them are at home when you remove the career?
Removing a custom career can potentially fuck up your entire neighborhood, depending on how the career was made. If they made it with the Fallback GUID of a real EAxis career, the object will not properly disintegrate and there will now be duplicate objects on your lot, which is very bad.
Does that apply even when the careers is not used by any sim, or only when you have had a sim enter such a career? Is there a way to check if a career has a maxis fallback GUID, and if so, how? Most custom careers don't have this sort of information, from what I can see.

Edit: I assume there's a way to fix the careers so they don't bork your game?
24  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: Crash while creating downtownies, How bad is it? on: 2009 May 03, 21:50:54
You did actually create a Downtown first, didn't you?
Ha! It would pretty funny if had forgot that. How bad would that be, bfbvfs bad?  Cheesy

I guess it's simply one of those random crashes. So it's bad...something, ram or hard drive.
25  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Crash while creating downtownies, How bad is it? on: 2009 May 02, 21:07:55
I installed the beautiful 'Elsewhere' hood by plasticbox, created a sim and moved it into a lot, then started making townies with the gun. As soon as I switched to downtownies and tried spawning, the game crashed: ' application has crashed and will now be terminated'. How bad is it? I checked the logs and the game gave me a sims2exception file, which I don't know if it's useful or not, but it's attached anyway.

Question is, is it a VBT or is there some other error in the works? I've had some random crashes lately, that I've not been able to track the source of (I'm starting to wonder if the amount of downloads the memory has to handle borks the game and crashes it). (I have 2 gb memory, and about 2.30 gb of downloads)
