1  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: grandma's Comfort Soup on: 2009 March 20, 00:48:42
I had a houseful of sick Sims. I fed them all the Comfort Soup, and got pop-ups saying they were feeling better now, or something like that. The next morning, two of them dropped dead. The way they grabbed at their throats and keeled over didn't look all that comfortable, to be honest.
2  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Alien triplets? on: 2008 November 13, 06:53:03
I had that glitch and got six babies, it totally buggered up my game plan for that family, (they were both Fortune Sims and I was only going to let them have one kid), but it was interesting, in a train-wreck kind of way. Smiley
3  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: How do you organize your CC? on: 2008 September 04, 07:51:35
My way of sorting is to open the 'Downloads' folder and chuck everything in there. That's it. I don't have enough time to play as it is, let alone fuck around with mutiple folders. One day it will probably all blow up in my face, but eh, that's life on the edge for you.

In my defence, I do have a separate folder for hacks. I'm not that much of a philistine...  Grin

What about the psychiatrist/psychologist/guy who appears when your Sim spazzes out? I've heard he produces hideous offspring, but is that the only reason I should prevent him from bumping uglies with any of my Sims?

Shame that download's been deleted, although I eagerly await its next incarnation. Undecided

So why has it been deleted? Did the Good Taste Police go over and beat some sense into whoever was responsible for okaying that crap?  Huh
6  TS2: Burnination / Planet K 20X6 / Re: May "More Awful Than You": Buttugly Brokeass Furniture on: 2007 May 23, 08:31:37
Does it matter if it flies? Even if it does, it's still an ugly piece of crap.  It'd just be a flying piece of crap, instead of a stationary one.
7  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: How stable is Pets P2? on: 2007 May 22, 13:58:56
I believe the salon chair remains broken as of Petsp2/Seasonsp1, an issue which did not exist in OFBp2. Someone doublecheck?

Yeah, what's wrong with the chair?
It really shits me when I find out that things in my game are broken when I hadn't even noticed.  Undecided

I voted for BURNINATION.
9  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Which EP next? on: 2007 May 17, 13:05:03
Go for Seasons - lots of cool stuff and new ways to kill Sims - what's not to love?

Pets is okay, I guess, I didn't find it all that exciting, the pets themselves are cute for about the first ten minutes, then they're just a pain in the ass. Like Gwill said, Uni sucks to play, but all the stuff it brings into the game is good. Except for the whole Influence concept, which I hate with the fire of a thousand burning suns. But maybe that's just me.

Hey, if the cat likes it, then that's all that matters.

That book case is bizarre, though, wouldn't all the books just slide down to one side? That would seriously shit me, having a bookcase like that.  Undecided

Same! I even emailed him at one point and told him I thought he was the best!  Embarrassed

Good news is, FeeEssen's having a week-long break. So that's approximately 87% less fug around the place.  Grin

That piece of shit table looks like it's levitating. And what's that on top of it - teapot, genie lamp, bizarre sex toy...?  Huh

I'm surprised Pescado hasn't declared him dead yet.

Ooh, I remember Dddrake from the days when I actually used to visit TSR. Those tiny little squashed up pics of all that recoloured shit used to make my eyes hurt. And then you'd have to scroll past about 400 pages of this crap because it was ALWAYS on the free rotation.

What I want to know is, who the hell is downloading this stuff? Who are the people who think an entire kitchen done in the exact same babyshit brown shade is the height of style? They need to be taken out the back and shot, whoever they are.

A house should not be a temple to whatever political / religious beliefs you hold, to the exclusion of all else. What's wrong with having normal furniture? Not to point fingers at just one or two groups of folks, the pagan Simmers are also bad about this. Stoppit already with the totem animal wall hangings and bedspreads, and pentacles do not need to be embossed on every single surface when designing a furniture set. Most pagans I've known have had good interior design taste, though, to be fair, one or two erred in the "if it is good enough for an unwashed hippie, it's good enough for me" macrame / beaded door curtains / shag rugs / beanbags decor direction, and a handful went in for "if it is Goth, it belongs in my house" route.

Wholeheartedly agree. In fact, any kind of theme can be taken to extremes, usually with eye-burning consequences. Okay, so you like tigers /Elvis /sacrificing goats /golf, doesn't mean you need to have this motif on every single piece of fucking furniture in your house! A little restraint, people, please! Sure, make up some posters, or even a bed cover with whatever theme floats your boat, but you really have to draw the line at having your terlet /toaster /shower curtains match these same damn theme. Who the hell does this? What planet do they live on?

It all just makes my head hurt sometimes.   Sad

Well, I just want to know how your Pleasants got so rich!?  Did you motherlode them up the wazoo, or is Daniel involved in some illegal activities?
19  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: The scarecrow on: 2007 March 27, 06:45:27
Amjoie, a lot of those deaths you mentioned - kissing too long, drowning in the pool, too much woohoo - only occur if the player is not paying attention to the game and fails to notice that the needs bar (hunger or energy) is getting dangerously low. So those are avoidable deaths, and you really only have yourself to blame if your Sim died just because you didn't notive their hunger bar was in the red. Also, the running with scissors death was only possible if you downloaded the object - if you didn't want your Sims to risk death, then get rid of the download, there are plenty of other ways for your Sims to increase their fun.

FWIW, I agree with Witch - I wish there were more chances for random death - the ones already in the game (hit by satellite, swarm of flies etc.) all seem to have a pretty low chance of happening. For as long as I've played TS2 (which was since it first came out) I have seen NO satellite deaths, NO fly swarm deaths, no hail deaths, nothing. The only 'accidental' deaths I have ever had were ones caused by deliberately taking out the pool ladders.  Grin

Thanks for the links and advice - that story was kinda sad, actually..... I'm going to keep playing the sextuplets (I had already saved the game) and just see how things go, I guess. Hopefully it won't completely FUBAR the lot or the family.  Undecided
21  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: You have got to be kidding me..... sextuplets?!! on: 2007 February 15, 20:57:54
Yup, I had the option to name all the babies.

I never even heard of this glitch before - I have tried out Twojeff's quadruplet hack before (ages ago) but having four babies at once pretty much did my head in, so I deleted it.

I'm kinda pissed off, actually - I had planned for both these Sims to be very career-orientated, the pregnancy was accidental (thanks to Risky Woohoo) - once the babies were born the mother actually spun up a want to woohoo in bed! I'm thinking it's gonna be a loooong time before she gets another Woohoo.....  Grin
22  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / You have got to be kidding me..... sextuplets?!! on: 2007 February 15, 20:10:05
I just had a pregnant Sim - Jodie Larson -  go into labour at the end of her own wedding party - she refused to get into the limo, and her oh-so-loving new husband decided to go on honeymoon by himself.

Boy, did he come home to a surprise...

As soon as he left, Jodie went into labour. I got the pop-up saying that a new family member was on the way, blah blah blah. The usual pop-up you get when there is ONE baby.

So, she has the baby, and immediately puts him down on the grass.... and spins round to deliver a second baby...
I figure, ooh, cute glitch, looks like they get twins.
Except she goes on to deliver another four babies in a row! For each one, I got the new family member pop-up, she would spin round, deliver the baby then I got the naming box. Then she'd stick it on the ground and go again. Kind of like the game was stuck, or something.

I don't have the twins/triplet hack, or anything like it. I do have the Kitten-killer, (object version), but all my other hacks are Awesome. She hadn't been eating cheesecake, either.

Any idea what might have caused this? I'm assuming it's a glitch, hopefully not a sign of impending doom though?

Thanks, Twojeffs - I just got rid of my most recent clothes downloads (till around the time the problems started) and - fingers crossed - so far, everything seems okay... I hope!

Consider the 'thanks' button well and truly pressed.  Smiley

My audio is Avance AC97, and according to my computer, I've already got all the updated drivers. I was wondering if it was sound-related, as so far, the first sign of an impending crash has been the sound going a bit wonky. Also, in the error logs i was getting some message about being unable to cache audio, or something.... is this related to the groups.cache thing?

I do have custom clothes, will try booting them out, see if it helps. Thanks!

*wears 'Attaboy' sign with pride, not caring that I look like an idiot*

Updated - my mistake, just checked and actually says 'Error TS Audio - failed to cache resource' and there's also a whole bunch of stuff about 'Error TS Music Manager (nhood) listed twice in property category' - then there's the same entry for (buy), (build), and (CAS). Don't know if this is relevant or not.....
25  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Access violation???! on: 2006 August 02, 03:53:53
In the past week I've had a couple of game crashes, but nothing really predictable or consistant enough to have a good whine about. Now, though, I've had two crashes in a row at the same spot - in both instances, Don and Brandi were on a date at Red's Famous 50's Diner, and they both went into the photo booth (not for woohoo, just to fulfill the 'Get Photo Taken' want). When they come out of the photo booth, the music started sounding funny (like it was stuck) and the game crashed to  desktop, with the oh-so-helpful popup telling me the game had crashed.  Roll Eyes

I had a poke around in the error logs, and on both these occasions it says something along the lines of 'Exception code: 0xC0000005 (-1073741819) ACCESS_VIOLATION.'

What's this mean?

This is a fairly new 'restart' of Pleasantview, with just Uni and Downtown attached, I do have OFB but don't have a shopping district attached yet. No new hacks added recently, and I've tried deleting groups.cache. Actually, don't know if this is relevant, but I've noticed the size of the groups.cache file is a lot smaller than usual - normally it's about 144 KB, just now when the game crashed I noticed it was more like 14KB.  Huh I've also loaded the lot with the testing cheats enabled thingy, but nothing comes up.

Anyway, any help/advice appreciated, laughing and pointing tolerated too if it helps get my game fixed!  Wink

Update - okay, so I thought I'd narrowed it down to the photobooth, or that downtown lot, but it just crashed again while I was at Don's house - no photobooth at all there. More info - I have all EP's, but not FFS or the Christmas pack, am running on Windows XP, with an Intel Pentium 4 2.53 CPU, 1024 MB RAM, NVIDIA Ge Force MX 440 card, haven't updated drivers or anything lately, have run spyware/adware/crap cleaning stuff, I'm nice to my mother and I floss regularly.   Grin
