1  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Changing a residential lot to community on: 2014 August 16, 04:30:45
I have a lot that was residential that would make a great synagogue with only minor modifications if I can only get this done safely(I am not much of a builder). Tried in my empty sandbox neighbourhood and generated this error message:

.\source\TSAudioResourceManager.cpp(1220)
ERROR TSAudio: Failed to cache resource. 0b9eb87e:eb8ab356:ff8bceb2
.\source\TSAudioResourceManager.cpp(1220)
ERROR TSAudio: Failed to get neighborhood occupants.
.\source\TSAudioAmbienceSystem.cpp(822)
ERROR TSAudio: Failed to get neighborhood occupants.
.\source\TSAudioAmbienceSystem.cpp(822)
>changelotzoning commercial
ERROR TSCheatSystem: ERROR IN CHEAT: Bad lot type!
in command 'changelotzoning commercial'. OnErrorClearParserTempState called.
 with command changelotzoning commercial
.\source\TSCheatSystem.cpp(68)

So it would seem that the reason it wouldn't work is that the neighbourhood was devoid of sims, but does this mean that when I changed it to a community lot in Pleasantview it somehow now contains references to sims from that neighbourhood? Is it safe to use in other neighbourhoods?

Oh please make it about cats AND pie!

Sorry if I sounded conceited - I certainly meant no offense and the thank you to Mootilda WAS genuine. Perhaps you can't win on this forum: you get abused if you haven't tried to help yourself BEFORE posting, but if you have you are accused of being conceited!

I am currently pruning CC and the dining chairs and office chair in this set have beautiful timber detailing but the upholstery sucks big time! I have an idea that they may have been made before they had this down pat as other sets I have of theirs are not like this. I do love this set otherwise though and was wondering if any of the clever lot over here would be prepared to fix? I got them via Booty, so can hardly ask on their forum! And I am certainly not even a tiny bit awesome. Embarrassed

Thanks for replying, but I was hoping for a reply from someone MOAR AWESOME than at least me.

I am already aware that the problem lies with my custom content. However multiple 50/50 tests different splits lead to no problems with either half, and I have already checked for and removed GUID conflicts using SimPE. (Which was informative as I thought Delphy's Download Organiser got rid of these - apparently not!)

At present I have a bloated Downloads folder that I want to prune, but would like to have all the current CC available for comparison during the exercise. Guess I will just have to do the best I can with half at a time, and hope that pruning solves the problem.

I have the DJS WTF Editor but it is sooo slow that it would take me years - won't touch Maxis stuff either.

Will go check out the tute at MTS.
8  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Changing the category of walls and floors? Also sort order? on: 2008 October 27, 16:19:34
I would like to be able to reclassify, as examples, a wall that is listed as paint to wallpaper, or a floor listed as stone to tile. Is there some way to do this for a) Maxis stuff; b) custom content?

The other thing that is bugging me is that related sets of custom walls or floors show up all over the place. Is there some way to modify the sort order for custom content? I know I can make collections, but I already have so many of these and as there is no way of expanding the display it becomes painful to find the relevant collection. The Maxis related walls stay together - surely there is some way to have the same thing happen for custom content?
9  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Strange skill meter above head on: 2008 September 05, 03:10:10
At present I am only playing with EPs to Seasons and all SPs installed - due to the EA support people being decidedly less awsome that anybody, but that is another story!
I have therefore started playing Pleasantville anew and have added the Oldies to the neighbourhood. Coral has been on the phone and then she gets a blue skill meter above her head that doesn't seem to go away, even during woohoo. Now I know that that there is skill involved in that, and she does seem to have a larger than normal appetite for a family sim, but I am fairly sure that none of my other sims have ever showed a skill meter for that, even the rampant romance sims! Does anyone know what this is?

Thank you, thank you, thank you - also to the maker of the lot debugger. It worked and Ariel is now in private school - my very first simchild to make it! (Cannot imagine why I always failed before as it was ridiculously easy!) I like this family more and more!

Thanks for your prompt replies but I may need futher assistance - I am off to find 'the lot debugger' and try - scary for me as I am only playing my legacy family and, although I haven't got vey far less I actually LIKE this family! (All previous attempts to do the legacy challenge have been aborted as I found I couldn't care less about any of them!!!!)

I have all EPs and SPs installed and the 2nd BV patch. No CC except for some Maxiod stuff from the official site and no hacks. My Sims 2 folder was generated after the installation of BV. I cannot get the headmaster scenario to work - he gets invited, arrives and freezes. Need to use moveobjects to delete. I am totally not awesome and really would like some assistance of the totally hold-my-hand-and-walk-me-through kind.  Angry
