Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: Indie Stone Now with added Awesomeness

Well the versions of Indie Stone and Awesomemod that work together are out now. Grab both and make sure you do not use the Indie core file, just the Indie mod one.
Quoted for those who, like me, fail at reading comprehension.

TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Patching Problem? One step solution here!
|

Having trouble patching? Here's what to do: First download this file:
Note: This is for region 2 (ie. European version) of TS3. If you have the region 1 (ie. US version) then please seek help elsewhere. To find out which version you have, open TS3 game launcher and check lower left corner. Then quickly close the launcher for it will open a portal to the depths of hell and release evils of unimaginable horror.
1. Modify HKLM\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Sims\The Sims 3\SKU value to 2 (For 32bit, the key is under HKLM\SOFTWARE\Sims\The Sims 3). If you're on XP, GBAD for all the shit you've been giving us Vista users. 2. Extract content of the above package and override the files in your TS3 folder. 3. Apply the [url=http://na.llnet.eadownloads.ea.com/u/f/sims/sims3/patches/Sims3_1.2.7.00002_from_1.0.631.00002.exe]Sims3_1.2.7.00002_from_1.0.631.00002.exe patch. 4. Apply Awesomemod (cause it's awesome and TS3 would not be worth playing w/o it) 5. 6. PROFIT!!! More Note: If you got *bleep* over by Reloaded like I did, you need to download a patch that will replace the FullBuild0.package file. The correct file size should be 1,023,864,748 bytes. If you don't know how to get it, you do not deserve to play this game. Credit: - I stole all the files off the interwebs, mostly from this board. - Awesomemod is made by J. M. Pescado, who shall always be praised as the one true god. Also if you're the FBI looking for a scapegoat, he's the mastermind behind it all. - The credit for other files I'm too lazy to look up or list. I claim no authority over them nor responsiblity. Use at your own risk. I have region 2 game and this worked for me without having to modify any keys. (I tried looking for the key but couldn't find it, so perhaps I'm just not awesome enough. ) Anyways, worked like a charm. Thanks!

Sorry, I had to comment on this, even though I normally just lurk here. Hee! I'm almost as rude as all the North Americans as I am a Finn! I feel so proud! What a foolish little girl. When I was doing my intercultural studies degree, one of the most important things I learned there was that you cannot make sweeping generalizations based on people's nationality/gender/race. That is just as inane as claiming that blondes are ruder than brunettes, but redheads have best manners, or claiming that since all left-handed persons you've met (all 3 of them) have big noses, all left-handed people in the world have big noses. I would have wanted to leave a comment to point out the fault in her logic, but alas, I cannot. Woe is me.

I've never heard real estonian speaking so I don't know anything about Estonian language but Lithuanian and Latvian have some similarities. Lithuanian and Latvian both stem from the Baltic branch of the Indo-European Language tree, so they are more closely related to each other than, for example, English and Latvian. Even though also English is a part of the Indo-European language family, it stems from the Germanic Branch of the family tree. Both languages have the same origins, but the similarities between Latvian and English can be seen only on the structural level of the languages, whereas Latvian and Lithuanian probably have similar grammatical forms and probably share similar vocabulary. However, Estonian is not an Indo-European language, it belongs to the Finno-Ugric language tree, and is related to Finnish and Hungarian. As the origins of Lithuanian and Latvian when compared to Estonian are completely different, one can safely say that Estonian has very little in common with Lithuanian or Latvian. If you cannot tell, I'm a linguist.

I usually open the cheat window with ctrl+shift+C in the neighbourhood view and type in the command "familyfunds familyname amount". For example, if I wanted the Brokes to have only 2 000 simoleans, I'd type in "familyfunds broke 2000".
I find that easier than trying to find hacks that are compatible with everything else I have.

Thanks, I'll do that. I don't think it was the no-cd crack, either.
Something probably got corrupted during the install, or something.
Thanks for your help, B!

I started the game and the choose neighbourhood screen a message popped up saying that I had uninstalled seasons (which I did not do) and that the game would remove all weather effects from my existing neighgourhoods. I clicked quit, and tried to install seasons again, but got the message that I was running the wrong version of the game (i.e. I should be running BV). I could not reinstall Seasons, since it was installed in my computer already, but I could not play it, since the game did not recognize it. I uninstalled BV, but of course the damn game uninstalled everything, and now I am in the process of installing everything back. I do not know if this happened because of the no-cd crack, but I am inclined to believe that it is maxis' fault.

It worked, but now the goddamn game insists that I have uninstalled seasons, despite the fact that I did not do such thing!
Right. I'll try reinstalling seasons again. Sigh.

TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Stupid BV - Solved

Hi! I was thinking I'd try BV before buying but I am having trouble with the game. I ran Virtual Daemon Manager 4.10, mounted the .iso and managed to get the game installed with no problems, but when I try to run the game, the computer claims that there is a wrong disc in the drive and that I should insert the original BV CD or DVD (or something, the announcement is in Finnish). I am running YASU 1.4.7080 to cloak Daemon tool, but apparently it is not working. Can anyone help me, please? The Launcher seems to be a bit wonky anyways: When I click on the launcher icon on Desktop, the launcher has grayed out Seasons and several of the stuff packs, despite the fact that I have purchased and installed all of them. This does not bother me one bit, as long as I can still play them, but I certainly hope that it is still possible.
