TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Incompatible mod... but its AM?!

Thanks Mim.
I don't have future installed, so that will probably be why I'm getting sworn at by EA's pesky mod incompatibility finder.
I'll download the superpatcher and see what happens.
If all else fails, I'll spend today uninstalling and reinstalling my entire game.

TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Incompatible mod... but its AM?!

I'm 89% certain that this isn't tight pants.
A few weeks ago I had no issues - every content update was installed and working, I had dragons coming out my ears (a nice little money maker, those are) and I had upgraded to patch 1.57.
Tonight I started up my loyal AM Updater, and it did its magical up-date-the-AM thing just wonderfully.
Until I crashed due to "incompatible mods installed".
Fine, I'll remove the mods (dragon fixes), restart - fail. Removed all the custom content - fail. Removed anything remotely related to being custom - fail.
What else can I do besides re-installing? Is there hope for my game yet?
AM is working, because I'm not getting asked for a disk check and nointro.package is working perfectly.
There has to be something I'm missing, but hunting through the threads isn't helping (yes, I used the search fuction).

Do I have to increment patches from whatever updated 2.0.86 to the next level and up bit by bit?
I have found that patching needs to be done with EVERY patch that was released, the exception being the initial jump if you downloaded the razor game. Google the patches, download, install in order. I had to patch base up to 1.9 then WA up to 2.4, then do the 1.10 and 2.5. If I tried it in any other order, it gave me the invalid file error, or "patching could not complete". Maybe it'll work if you do everything up till 1.5, then base-wa-base-wa-base-wa up to the end. I know it doesn't like having one more unpatched than the other. I don't have HELS so I can't help there.

TS3/TSM: The Pudding / Pudding Factory / Re: EA store stuff in *.dbc format - a torrent

I have the .sims3pack in individual folders under "downloads" and the .dbc files in "dccache" and everything shows up for me.
Wasn't it written that the .sims3pack must be present?
Any problems, please let me know and I'll replace/fix the file (if I know how).
Edit: Witch, feel free to link to my 4shared, I'll try to keep it active (I let it lapse and it deactivated).

I don't know if anyone else has done this (apart from maybe 1 or 2), but when you create your dbc files after extracting the package files and then using appropriate packaging software, you can make each set a separate dbc. That way I can isolate certain sets that don't want to load, or I need to delete a set I can remove a single all-inclusive file without having to sift through mounds of .package files.
I've got one for each set that EA put out, they all work, and they're all renamed "fancyfashion.dbc" etc. I'm happy to stick these up somewhere if people want them, maybe 4shared?

I also have been having a semi-related issue regarding CTD when issuing the first command.
Trying to click to load a game is just crashing.
I've removed all the CC, updated Awesomemod and deleted the cache files.
Still no workie.

In addition, if you grab the dining for free lifetime benefit, you won't need a kitchen, either.
My sims still can't eat out, even with the free dining perk. A message comes up saying "Your sim cannot afford to eat here" regardless of how little cash she has on hand. My legacy family has been consisting solely on birthday cake and harvested fruits. Their house is a 5-bedroom 1-story house with 1.5 baths at the moment. I'm slowly building it up.

My last house for this month. 4 Danish Drive Orphanage.rarAn orphanage for those damned Newson kids (and the Ottomas family - everyone needs parents & a nana!). Top floor is skilling and gaming items. There is not a lot of room in this house for a backyard, so everything is upstairs. Bedrooms and bathrooms. 10 single beds & 3 double beds - 5 bathrooms. I turned one of the double bedrooms into an NPC room. The main floor. Nursery holds 5 babies and contains a few skilling items. Door leads from the kitchen straight into the nursery. Dining room for 15 14, bar seating for 5. There is a large bathroom on the main floor. The DMA NPC's Mr. & Mrs. Smith enjoy a game of Mahjong. Mr. Smith is a 'Manager' who does the cooking, cleaning, pays bills and looks after the house. Mrs. Smith is a nanny, babysitter, maid and cook all in one. Nana Ottomas and one of the children put towns into the train set. One of the children gains a skillpoint using the play table. This lot is HUGE. It runs, but very slowly on my machine. With 12 playable sims + 2 NPC's and guests, you're looking at about 20 people on the lot at once. This lot might make a good dorm.

Thanks for testing it.
I'll just have to refrain from using ponds as separators from now on. *sigh*. Sudden thought: If a pond had a fence/wall through the middle, but was still visibly a pond, would that work?
My 3rd house for the month is slowly coming - it's an orphanage for 20~ sims (including adults, DMA sims and toddlers). I use the DMA set for live-in NPC's, and think that if you are planning on downloading my next house, you'll need at least the nanny/maid.

Why does the superior "bug free" full world/content and extra town, June 2 release, need patching? Because the Pirates found the problems that regular people would of just accepted as being part of the game. We expect more than sheeple. As soon as Awesome Mods are available, you can almost guarantee they will end up in the next EA patch.

Why are my apartments not working? I've created two apartments from the HOF, but they won't register as apartments. They're both fully enclosed, although there IS a pond separating the two. Does this need to be fenced in? I'll post the residential version today (once I've finished the deco) and maybe someone can give me some pointers as to why it appears to be failing. UPDATE: Front of house. Ment to be 2 apartments, each sleeping 8 sims. If anyone can work out what I did wrong to cause it to fail the conversion to apartments, please, be my guest to fix it. Three fruit trees. There is room for play equipment if you squish it between the trees, or move the trees to one side. Greenhouses - 1 for each apartment, accessible only from the apartment next to it. Pond access through greenhouses. Pond is fishable. Kitchen, Living, Dining and Study. Kitchen is gated off, and stairs have a door. Bathroom for guest use. Bedrooms and playroom for children. Crib room can be converted into a bedroom by removing the walls. Teen bedroom can be converted into 2 single beds. Due to the lack of stuff to do outside the house, I've put a lot of stuff into the top floor. Mainly skilling, but some fun stuff too. Make your own power! Download here: 4 Danish Drive2x8.rarKindly tested by the Ottomas and Newson families. All 12 of them. At once. God I hate toddlers.

Coming out of my coma to post a house. This lovely apartment building has 4 'island' units connected by a ying-yang bridge of peace and tranquility. Not suited for a family sim, the two smaller apartments are 1- single bedroom while the two bigger apartments are 1-double bedrooms. I apologize for the bare looking apartments, I forgot to take pics while in build mode. Roof: Top floor. Awning conceals the spa on the two smaller apartment decks. Main floor: Outdoor dining by way of the balcony. Seating for 4 outside and 2 (or 3) inside. Main floor contains bathroom, kitchen, dining room, sitting room and in the larger apartments, bedroom. Basement: Basement of the smaller rooms contains a single bedroom. Basement of the larger apartments contains skilling stations. All basements contain a bookshelf and comfy chair. Bonus images: I didn't realize I was taking pics in such low quality. I'm very sorry. Download from here: 4 Danish Drive.rar
