1  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: AwesomeMod Bug Report Thread on: 2013 July 02, 18:21:33
When is CAS not slow, though? And I really don't think AwesomeMod can do anything with sound, as sound exists at a lower level than the script codes.

If AM has nothing to do with the sound issue, why does it only happen when AM is the only mod installed? But when AM isn't installed and other mods are, there is no sound problems. I'm not saying AM is causing the problem, i'm just wondering why it happens with AM being the only mod installed when it does happen.

I think I have worked out what is causing the sound issues - I have that stupid swan peddle boat in IP and my sound stopped when some townie was on it. Managed to nuke it, no issue.

In consideration of your sound issue fix and when the problem came back in IP, I looked into object stats via Master Controller and there wasn't a single swan peddle boat anywhere in the world. There were sailboats, speed boats, fishing boats and water scooters, but no peddle boats.

Better late than never! Updated, but untested.

Anach, all the newest links to the downloads lead to pages that can't be displayed.

Please, disregard this post, the links are working now. Thanks for the update.
3  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Sound Issues Paradise Island on: 2013 July 01, 14:31:24
I started a new game in Isla Paradiso to see if that would fix the sound problem.  It did for about a minute.  I read where someone said the sound problem was not in the other worlds so I started another new game in Sunlit Tides.  Played all night long, no problems with the sound issue at all.  I have also checked to see if my drivers were up to date, they were.

I have the same problem when playing in Isla Paradiso. My PC just came back from a repair shop and they updated many things, one of which was the sound card. I also bought new Bose speakers which are about two weeks old and an updated driver is installed properly. I don't think it can be the speakers or sound card because there is no problem with sound in anything else I use sound for on the computer. It just happens in Isla Paradiso. It seemed to only start happening after installing the test version of AM since that had been the only change made to the game when it started happening. Though, I tried taking it out and deleting all necessary cache files, went back into IP and still had the same problem. I think I'll try a new IP town without AM installed and see if that fixes the issue. If not, then I'll try a new town with no mods or cc and see if that fixes things. To be updated.

I have OFB and oh yes they are still obsessed with wanting to turn off the computer when someones using it, stomping feet and hissy fits included. I took this hack out before installing OFB but i'm going to test it tonight to make sure its working for OFB. I'll let ya know if its working with OFB.  Smiley
5  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Musical instruments hack inquiry/request on: 2006 January 25, 13:17:23
I searched this website to see if hack requests were deemed acceptable or not and since i couldn't find an answer in either case, here goes.... Kiss
Basically, this inquiry/request is to gain some control of the sims usage or overusage of musical instruments. I'm tired of my sims playing musical instruments until they're ready to drop dead, or until delegated to stop, even then just stand at the instrument and cry because most of their motives are red.
And then there's the guests who come to visit and head straight for an available instrument and end up playing the instrument for the entire duration of their stay. I know there's many objects besides musical instruments where sims seem stuck to the object till near death, but the whole being stuck to musical objects scenario has been so annoying for so long, i don't even buy musical objects anymore, none of my houses have pianos or etc anymore and that is really a drag because i want to buy them so my sims can use them for skilling and fun and also for asthetic purposes.

I was wondering about the possibilities of hacks such as....a hack that allows you to control who plays an instrument and who doesn't....including both residents and guests. Or maybe a hack that gives you the ability to turn an instrument on and off...so if its on it can be used and if off, not. Or a hack that tweaks the instruments so that for skill building they'll play until they've leveled up a skill point...and for performing or fun they will play until their motives reach a reasonable level and they'll quit playing. Or a hack where sims won't be so attracted to instruments like magnets and cling to them to death.

If any of these hacks already exist, could someone please point me in the right direction....or if not, maybe someone might consider taking on this mission of mercy and making a hack for these objects, it would be so appreciated, more than you know.
