1  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: Restaurant and gardener troubles on: 2007 May 08, 08:59:27

Question the second:
On an unrelated note, one day my gardener showed up for work and got out of the truck, at which point the truck disappeared and a new gardener showed up. Repeat as desired. All these gardeners decided they would rather watch TV or eat snacks than garden, so I guess they were behaving as normal visitors. I finally managed to use something (don't remember what) to delete the npcs on the lot so they would go away. The next time I had the gardener come over, a whole pile of them (maybe six or seven) got out of the truck and proceeded to make themselves at home. I haven't kept playing to see if it will happen again.
Is this something that anyone is familiar with? Perhaps a faulty hack? I think I have 'daily gardener' or some such from here, maybe some others. I'm still just using OFB, and have not gotten any hacks that were not (theoretically) OFB-compatible. In fact, I haven't gotten many new ones at all in a long time, because I stopped playing for a while and now I'm seeing if I'm interested enough in the game to shell out for pets and seasons.

Okay, I've just re-installed my entire game with all EPs and Stuff packs about a week ago and I've just had this problem in three different houses.
When I get rid of all of the gardeners (by dismissing or ending services), the next day the gardener that I originally hired turns up as normal and the problem doesn't tend to happen again (so far).
Unfortunately, as I don't tend to play with "testingcheats" turned on I've never managed to get an error log. All my hacks come from here or jfades site.
I've had a few sims autonomously juggle the damn coffee cups, but I thought that this problem was fixed with the OFB patch.
2  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: 2006 Holiday Pack on: 2006 October 25, 07:50:01
UK Pre-orders: £9.99:

http://shop.gameplay.co.uk/webstore/productpage.asp?productcode=RM03006&title=the_sims_2_festive_holiday_stuff_expansion

Exclusive "Blizzardous Biosphere" for those that do pre-order.

If I install this when I already have the Christmas Party Pack installed am I going to run into problems?
3  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Hooboy... family startover/save family options? on: 2006 October 10, 08:56:39
Okay that sounds like a good idea. A quick scan has just told me that this would save me about 18Gb of HD space.  Shocked
Thanks for your help.
4  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Hooboy... family startover/save family options? on: 2006 October 10, 07:26:35
So, after doing this am I safe to Unistall Sims 2 from the C: drive and reinstall to the D: drive.
Sorry if this is an obvious question but I've never had a Gaming PC with 2 drives before.  Embarrassed
5  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Hooboy... family startover/save family options? on: 2006 October 10, 06:42:12
I've got a question along similar lines.
I'm about to aquire a second hard drive and I'm wanting to move Sims 2 to the second drive. I'm hoping someone more tech savvy than me tell me the easiest way to do this without starting all my families again.
6  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Important! Hosts file note, may need to be passed along to some members. on: 2006 October 06, 11:43:20
It affected me too.  Undecided
If it hadn't been for someone (I forget who) at Insiminater (sp?) then I would have completely forgotten about the host file.
7  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Automatic daily changing of clothes on: 2006 September 28, 16:22:51
That sounds like a fantastic idea. So long as we don't end up with massive amounts of laundry  Tongue

Something I'd like (if it's possible) is the ability to tie a certain hairstyle to a certain style of clothes. E.g; if you are wearing Everyday you have hairstyle A but if you change into Formal, your Sim automatically has hairstyle B.

If this results in me getting pointed and laughed at I'm going to blame the missus as it was her idea in the first place.  Grin

No neighborhood story or Lot stories for me either.  Cry
9  TS2: Burnination / Peasantry / Re: Testers wanted - Sedona default 'hood - an alternative to Bluewater on: 2006 September 26, 09:25:18
@ Jordi;
Thanks. I forgot about DAC deleting all Sims and not just the ones in the sub-'hood.
As for the alien shoppers, meh, I've already got loads of aliens and other assorted wierdos in my Townie "pool".
10  TS2: Burnination / Peasantry / Re: Testers wanted - Sedona default 'hood - an alternative to Bluewater on: 2006 September 26, 08:50:38
See, I knew it would be something obvious. Roll Eyes
Whilst I had installed the B002 & B003 to the correct folder, I hadn't physically "created" the B002 within the game. Once I created Aridia(sp?), I had no problems creating Sedona.

Lastly a couple of questions, do I have to DAC before playing the rest of my game? (I've created Sedona in my primary 'hood.) Also is it safe for me to delete the B002 (Aridia) from within the game?
11  TS2: Burnination / Peasantry / Re: Testers wanted - Sedona default 'hood - an alternative to Bluewater on: 2006 September 26, 07:51:47
Sorry, I really want to test this out but I can't click on the Sendona "Line".
I can see the option for Sedona but every time I move the mouse towards it, the big Bluewater Village button highlights.
Am I missing something? Probably something really obvious knowing me  Embarrassed

Loved it. Just wasted 3/4 hour playing it  Grin
13  TS2: Burnination / Peasantry / Re: GLS Male Clothing For Elders on: 2006 September 21, 06:59:52
So there is....

GLS Female Formal For Everyday:
http://www.modthesims2.com/showthread.php?t=186548

I suppose I should have just looked for Simsbaby at MTS2  Roll Eyes

I've looked for the male stuff but I can't find it. Oh, well, it was the female stuff I really wanted anyway.
14  TS2: Burnination / Peasantry / Re: GLS Male Clothing For Elders on: 2006 September 15, 12:41:01
Is there any way that the Adult GLS Formal stuff (Male and Female) could be enabled for Everyday?
15  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: MTS2 on: 2006 September 15, 11:46:14
Works fine for me. In fact it's running better than it has for a couple of weeks (for me anyway).
16  Awesomeware / The Armory / Re: Business Controller: Business Runs YOU! on: 2006 September 08, 09:44:24
I've had a magor issue with businesses since I installed OFB (obviously, I wouldn't have had the problem before I installed it now would I?  Roll Eyes ).
If I am running the business I have no problems with or without BRY (of course with BRY it runs better).
However, it's when I visit a sim owned business that my problems start.
  (a) without BRY, all the employees/owners/managers are there but they just act like normal customers, i.e. browsing, going to the toilet, etc.
  (b) with a BRY controller (and the relevant other items; BUY, espresso machine, sport of kings), again all the staff are there, but the only person who does anything is the owner. Even then it's only sometimes.

I have one business; a salon, where the owner has gold badges in sales, cashier, cosmetology and restocking and all she'll do is restock. Admittedly I did use the badge juicer for her and on the others I earned them correctly.
Another business is a combination bakery and restaurant. The owner will ring up purchases from the bakery and will greet and seat customers. However that's all he will do.

My first thought is that it's a hack conflict, but I've got quite a few hacks and some of them I can't even remember where I got them.

Anyway, sorry for the long post, and can anyone offer me some advice?

P.S. Is it safe to leave a BRY controller on a business when I sell it?

*Edit*: Dammit, I just found this thread:

That's what I get for not searching. Mind you, there are no answers to be had there either.  Cry
17  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Talk me out of it, or convince me I am doing the right thing... on: 2006 August 02, 10:31:04
Umm, yeah, I saw that one. I was a little confused as to why he would want to do that. Oh well, whatever rocks his boat I suppose. Huh
18  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Talk me out of it, or convince me I am doing the right thing... on: 2006 August 02, 09:52:48
Thanks for the clarification Rainbow. I really didn't want to get trashcanned, not when I'm so close to getting my first set of ripped lips. Wink
19  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Talk me out of it, or convince me I am doing the right thing... on: 2006 August 02, 09:22:28
I thought that I'd only get trashcanned if I started a new thread about *it*.
I was guilty of this, but that was before the warning in the newsbox.
If that's not the case then I'm sorry. Cry
20  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Talk me out of it, or convince me I am doing the right thing... on: 2006 August 02, 08:22:35
I agree with Process Denied; I am satisfied with all my purchases. However I am a Sims/Maxis Whore, I buy every pack regardless.
So, I'll also be buying Glamour, Pets and the rumored "new" Holiday pack. Roll Eyes
21  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: The Grim Reaper on: 2006 August 02, 07:51:47
Hmmm, very nice but I think I'll wait until someone creates one that is confirmed to work with OFBp2. Or confirms that these work with OFBp2.
I don't personally like testing things myself, as I've had bad things happen in the past.

Thanks anyway Avalikia.
22  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: The Grim Reaper on: 2006 August 02, 07:25:07
*cough*"random"*cough*.

I take it by this that you are implying that it's "sadorandom" (is that the correct term?).
Does anyone have any experiance with these mods? Or, do people just not have alien babies?
23  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: The Grim Reaper on: 2006 August 02, 07:13:25
Okay, thanks for that.
Slightly off topic question; can I use the shrub/bush to summon the Pollination Technician so that my alien babies can know both sets of parents? Or is this a "Bad Thing (tm)"?
Oh, and another one, are all alien babies pollinated by the same technician? If so, is there any way to add other Polli Techs?

Point and laugh / poke with sticks as appropriate
24  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: The Grim Reaper on: 2006 August 02, 06:46:02
Okay, how do you have children with the Grim Reaper?
Can you just summon him with Inges' Teleporter bush thingy, or do you use "testingcheatsenabled"?
25  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: really stupid question, go ahead hit me! on: 2006 July 28, 07:03:43
