Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: Game Hangs on Move Out with Awesome/Indie Stone

I can't remember if I have or not. I'm about to go test that out right now. Something came up earlier and I had to postpone my test until now.
Edit: I just tested it with seven Sims living in the house. The game still hangs. The confirm box comes up quickly and the Sims portrait vanishes from the panel at the left but then the game hangs indefinitely no matter how long I wait for it to complete. It hasn't locked my system up except for the very first time it happened at least. I have to end task the game. I can post another save, but I'm uncertain as to whether it would be beneficial or not since it's pretty much the same as before, only one Sim has now moved out and their lives have progressed a few days.

I'll try it again on my machine. Perhaps it's only when I have eight Sims living in the house. The game I sent was after the Sim I wanted moved out was moved (I played again after I moved her out and saved). I moved her out via the split household from the neighborhood as someone suggested earlier.

I sent you a pm. I'm not sure if it went through properly because I didn't see it in my outbox when I checked.
Also, regarding relationships I have a question. I have seen people refer to a family tree in other threads, but I can't find it anywhere! Are they just referring to the little icons stating how the Sims are related to each other in the relationship panel or is it is an actual family tree showing how everyone is linked like in TS2 and I am just too blind to see it or figure out how to access it?

That will be nicer anyway, being able to decide where they move to. I typically just kick them out and horde all the money for my legacy family and invest in the house or buy businesses. They pretty much own everything own-able at this point, though, so the castoffs can share some of the excess I suppose...lol My main storyline focuses on household members, but I do try to have my Sims keep in touch with their siblings and cousins at least somewhat. It seems so much harder to maintain and build relationships in TS3 since phone calls are pretty much useless for relationship building.
I could save and exit, remove the mods, kick them out, and then put the mods back in. That would get annoying though with as many kids as my families tend to have.

I don't recall reading anything about needing to enable a setting in AwesomeMod config for Indie. I must have missed it. So if it needed changed then no I hadn't changed it. So far I've just used whatever is default for AwesomeMod's settings. I'll look into that and install them both again and test it out.
Thanks!
Edit: I just checked in the awesomemod config for dummies and indiestone is enabled by default so yes I had it set.

I've been playing a legacy for a good while now. The oldest in generation six just turned into an adult. I had awesome mod installed for a little while, but not during the entire legacy. Recently I saw that the Indie Stone mod is now compatible with awesome mod so I installed it as well because I wanted to check out how the changed story mode worked. Note that I did not install the Indie Stone Core mod. I read the install instructions for both mods so that I would be sure to not mess anything up. Anyway, when the Sim attempted to move out of the house the game took ages to get to the confirmation box, and then when it finally did eventually attempt to move the Sim out the game just hung there with the busy timer going indefinitely until my computer froze. I rebooted my computer and removed both Awesome Mod as well as Indie Stone and she was able to move out just fine. Has anyone else who has both Indie and Awesome installed had the game do something like that?
Thanks for reading, and sorry if my descriptions of what happened is bad but I am not a programmer...lol I leave that up to you talented people.

I'm on generation four now, they just hit their teen years and so far I haven't had too bad a time finding a mate for my Sims, even the spares. When your Sims are at work or school there's an option in the drop down menu to meet new friends and to chat with friends. This is a great way to make loads of friends, and when your Sims are children, those children will age up right along with your children, so you'll know what age they are. Or, on the other hand, if your Sim meets a teen that you wish they could be with and they are a young adult already you can invite them over and click on the birthday cake and chose to have them blow out the candles, aging them up. AFAIK there isn't any rule against aging townies up before their time.

Quote: Damsel Re: The Legacy Challenge for TS3 « Reply #150 on: Today at 20:45:19 » I have had an issue with the rule about accepting the first lifetime wish that comes along. I understand why this exists, it's definitely much more fun and interesting to play with Sims of varying interests and personalities, but the problem with this is, all my Sims keep wanting is to become professional athletes due to the fact that my Sims all enjoy playing with the football and baseball together. There's nothing random or varying about that! I have since banned the use of said objects, but it's disappointing not being able to let my Sims play with them. It's a good way to increase fun and build relationships without having to micromanage them. End Quote
I saw you deleted this post, maybe you figured out that there is no such rule yet, or mis-read a previous post about YA's being forced to accept a random LTW (if no LTW has previously been accepted). YA's still get the 5 LTW's to choose from, if one hasn't been chosen yet, and there is yet no such rule about accepting the first LTW to pop up for children (or how to pick one for your Founder in CAS).
I must have read that rule somewhere else for another challenge or misinterpreted something I read when first starting this challenge, though for the life of me I can't imagine what or where. I've only read three challenges for TS3 (including this one) and I just reread the rules for the other two (haven't played them yet) and didn't find it there either. If there was such a rule it'd make achieving all 32 LTW's impossible, now that I think about it so it should have been obvious that I was remembering things wrong.

It's easy to make money, even with this challenge and since what you buy and place on your lot is restricted for me at least there was plenty of money to go around so being able to afford to refill the buffet wasn't an issue. I still had a stove and even a fridge on my lot I even gave my Sims a microwave so they had two ways to start a fire in fact since I didn't see any restrictions on microwaves. I just had my Sim fill up the buffet table once a day for the other patients.
I enjoyed this challenge but I was disappointed that it didn't turn out to be more chaotic. I only had one Sim pass out on the floor once and no one peed themselves until they turned into elders. A fun challenge and the first one I've ever managed to complete actually but too easy.

Sorry for posting in a thread that has been inactive for so long but I felt that I might have found a useful loophole to get around the issue of stove/fridge loss due to fire. I don't recall seeing a restriction mentioned anywhere on buying the buffet table so instead of ordering pizza or Chinese food constantly you could just keep filling up the buffet table instead.

Actually alot of the time my puppies/kittens grow up to look about 95% like their father and 5% like their mother. Their genetics seemed much more balanced before the "fix" EA included with one of the patches. Sometimes they do seem like a blend of the two, though. I had a few more recent litters of kittens that turned out perfect but they're third or fourth generation. Is there a way to turn an adult or elder animal back into a kitten? If there was a mod like that you could make a bunch of animals in CAS and then de-age them with the mod and then have the Sim put them up for adoption. You could even keep doing that by merging a family of pets into his or her house every time you wanted new kittens or puppies.
Edit: I forgot to say that I hate the curly tailed dogs, too. If I wind up stuck with one through adoption I don't mind too terribly much it does add some variety at least.

eve_ftw: Thank you, I know that there are pet shops in the bin. That wasn't the issue, however. I merely pointed out the fact that one should be able to purchase puppies and kittens from those shops and you can't. (You can only adopt adult and elder aged dogs from shops like in CAS).
Buchignani: Good point, I can do that for Sims who are just going to move to a new home at least. It'd be a proper restaurant that way, too.
ZephyrZodiac: I haven't downloaded the replicator, I should to check it out at least. Thanks for the tip about Around the Sims, I actually use that all the time. I even made some recolors of it awhile back. Cats are so funny, mine don't sleep in their box but the little silver one does like to play in it quite a bit digging at the litter or sides of the lid endlessly. Rather like Sim toddlers in that respect I guess, playing in the toilet...

That's definitely a good point. Kids act that way towards a grandparent or aunt/uncle who spoils them but not after only an eight hour absence. In general, though, I've always felt that the Pets EP seems to be missing something. Dogs don't bring slippers or fetch the newspaper, which is a big disappointment. The lack of a covered litter box is also disappointing. I doubt many cat owners use non covered litter pans still.
Thanks for the tip about the buffet tables! I haven't been to Sim Wardrobe in ages. Doing things that way would definitely be less work. It says "This unique buffet table system will allow you to serve any of the group meals in the game". I assume that means it does not include the non restaurant specific foods?

I've seen him three or four times in game but he never bothers any of my Sims. He always targets non playable Sims (in my game), it's so annoying! I've really been wanting my Sims to get robbed...lol
