2  Awesomeware / Armoire of Invincibility / Re: TOOL: TS3 Recompressor on: 2010 January 30, 03:32:52
Odd, it doesn't seem to work for me. It returns:

Could not stat *.package
Done!

Is it possible to make this take wildcards on the command line, such as the following?
Quote
s3rc *.package

Try with the new version?

If I try it again, can I do it with the same files I already ran through once, or must I use originals? I ask because I was a 'tard and didn't back them up.

That isn't the behavior I got. Did you decrapify the saved games you were using it in, too?

I decrapified the save I was playing, the userpreset, the library, and all the other objects in the set the counter was in. I also deleted the caches.

Try decrapifying?

I tried this on the overachieving counter, and its behavior changed to a different type of borkedness. Now it will no longer change to fit an appliance, and it changes to a different counter mesh completely if I make it a corner, or take it out of the family inventory.
7  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Some Store objects revert to original colors on: 2009 December 29, 14:02:14
I have noticed that some of the store objects will not keep their customized CAST patterns after being placed in a moving family's inventory. Yesterday, I also noticed that the problem happens with the "Overachieving Counter" if I try to put an appliance in it, or make it a corner counter.

When this happens, the instance of that object will no longer allow me to change its style, leaving me stuck with the stock colors if I want to use it.

I'm wondering if others have seen this same problem, and if there is a solution. It happened with just the base game, and it still happens in a fully patched WA install. None of this store content is paid for, BTW.
8  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Anybody found the new cheat codes for Bon Voyage? on: 2007 September 13, 15:27:52
As far as cheats for new expansions go, they are all listed in the expansion's readme.txt. The only new one this time around seems to be an extension to "changelotzoning" to [hotel]
9  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Can I alter my custom fridges? on: 2007 June 01, 20:42:47
I was assuming that, like similar programs for Sims 1, that only edits the CATALOG values, and maybe the values that the object advertises to Sims, but not the actual values used for need replenishment. If anyone can confirm (through testing in-game and/or examination of files with SimPE) that the actual behavior of the object is changed by using the Categorizer, I will happily fix all my beds with it, but I don't think it really does work that way.

I used to edit all my custom beds before I eradicated all my custom content, so I can confirm in my experience that it changed the behavior of the object. I had the beds match an excellent mod that I can no longer find that changed all the values for the Maxis beds as well.
10  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Shiny Sims Genetics on: 2007 March 04, 00:47:28
I decided to delete all of my custom content and start the game up fresh fresh, but in the process I forgot to save my genetics from ShinySims. Seeing as how the site has now closed, does anybody know if there are any sites that have archived stuff from there? They had some of the best genetics ever!
11  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Who the heck doesn't skip class for a date? on: 2006 November 28, 05:07:09
I remember seeing a mod on MST2 to make your dormies never go to class ever, but that may be too much cheating for some people.
12  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Virus at Simchic - enter at your own risk on: 2006 October 28, 04:18:35
FWIW, I'm also using Firefox, but I have no idea if I have NoScript installed or not. I went onto Simchic yesterday when the virus was first announced, and nothing happened. Did a couple of scans, nothing.

Go to Tools->Extensions for a list of all the extensions you have installed. Additionally, NoScript puts a icon in your status bar of either an "S" or an "S" with a strike through it.
13  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Virus at Simchic - enter at your own risk on: 2006 October 27, 15:32:16
I got nothing when I went there, but I do have Firefox w/ NoScript.

I'm having a problem with washing a dog with BUY in the room. It cancels out the action after a second and starts using the sim instead

Also, Pescado, I hope you have plans to update the LTW Variety Hack and include personality/interest related stuff. So that an interest in animals actually has some affect.
An excellent idea. I'm glad I thought of it.

Heh. While you're busy thinking up such brilliant ideas, any chance you could also tune down the Own 5 Businesses wants. Maybe based on Aspiration as well, if it isn't already, but also tweak interest related requirements, perhaps with Money, Work, and whatever else you may deem relevent in all your wisdom and awesomeness. Cheesy

PS. Turns out Best Buy around here and NYC did not get OMFGPETZ!!!!!!!1111oneone yet. My excitement quickly turned to disappointment when I got there.  Cry So... I guess I will have to wait 'til tomorrow hopefully, if not the by the end of the week. Roll Eyes

I'm actually having quite a hard time finding it in NYC myself. Odd for a city you can find everything else in . . .

You can also occasionally get a coupon for a free meal at any sim restaurant

The greek version is way better
18  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Dormies + Servos On Campus Mod on: 2006 May 02, 14:30:46
If you mean two dormates in one room, it's possible, but problematic. If you're going to use the maxis doors, you need to have two of them and each person has to claim one. If you do this, it's easiest to make sure both sims are controlable, because if you have a controlable sim and a random dormie in there, you might have room disappearing problems.

Also, you could try using a maxis doors for all the other dorms and normal doors (or hacked lockable doors) for your room, but the game will bug you that there's not enopugh space for all your sims to live in, unless you hide a door in some random spot.
19  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Seeking accessory hack on: 2006 April 23, 06:28:50
I think that is something that can be changed on a file-by-file basis in SimPE, actually.
20  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: College Tuition Mod? on: 2006 April 04, 16:44:32
To keep funds seperate, you could try buying items equal to the money you want to seperate and storing them in that sim's inventory. I think the items retain their original value as long you you put them directly in.
21  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: College Tuition Mod? on: 2006 April 01, 03:04:45
Public colleges in the US are not all that cheap either. I'm in New York, and the city/state schools are $2,000 a semester.

This is cheap compared to most decent colleges in other states. I'd say here in Missouri (where I live), the average per semester for the well-known universities probably hovers around $5000-$7000.

Bear in mind, I'm not talking about private college cost in NY, which is out-of-this-world.

Check your camera files. That happened to me once pre-OFB when I made an error in modifying the neighborhood camera.
24  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Movement Mod/Hack on: 2006 March 09, 03:18:18
I occasionally get my pregnant sims to meditate during the entire pregnancy. It keeps their mood stable and gets their meditation skill up for teleporting.
25  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Movement Mod/Hack on: 2006 March 09, 01:02:31
If you're talking about the mod that lets you teleport at will for maxed logic sims, I never had a problem with it in NL.
