1  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Flashing Blue Accessories on: 2006 November 02, 15:31:53
I'm having the same problem.  It gets fixed after I go to a mirror and change appearance.  I didn't have to replace anything - I clicked the check mark and suddenly everything worked again.

I'm glad it's an easy fix, but damn, it's annoying.

Thanks Jordi!  Most of my CC is recolors except for my Victorian neighborhood, so I'll just wait to play that one until fixes come in.

NM -  won't do anything with the CC - the chairs and sofas anyway; I haven't tested the counters and beds, yet.

Can pets use custom recolored EA objects?  Or can they not use any CC at all?  (I know it's a sort of stupid question, but I haven't seen an answer anywhere....)

What do I want?  I'll second everything in Blue's post.  I would like pets, since I enjoy playing myself and my friends in the game, and we all have pets in RL, so it would be nice to include them in the game.  However, I do hope they're done better than in Sims1.  Farming would be good too, although Echo's and SimAddict99's objects are filling that need quite nicely!

Mostly, I'd like new careers and new LTW's.  Oh, and more stuff to do at home would be nice...I have a really low-end computer, so I almost never send my sims to community lots because the load times are too long.  Since I'll probably buy an EP before I upgrade the computer, more home stuff would be great.

Oh, and for Maxis to actually TEST the thing would be nice too, but that's a given.

Question for all:

I've binned a lot of custom hair (Mostly Neptune Suzy's, Lyran and Janna), but I don't put them into the correct family.  Up until now I hadn't been taking out extra ages.  Should I fix them further, or are y'all okay as they are?  I'm willing to do the extra work - I'd just have to mess around in SimPE this weekend.

Yay!  Like a lot of you, I didn't realize how much I enjoyed reading this every day!

And can't Pescado pull a Dick Cheney on Josh?  Take him hunting or something?

It might work, then...mine froze on the official release too, but separating it out worked for the debug.  Of course, this might be because I have the slowest computer ever.

Jelendra -

If you know which files are your hair files, try moving everything else out of the download folder before running DatGen.  I think the critical error comes from it having to scan so many files - once I isolated the hair files as the ONLY thing to look at in the search, it ran for me.

As for the list of pre-binned....I have most of Lyran's hair binned as well as most of NeptuneSuzy's.  I'd be happy to put them up somewhere to download if we started a list.

I played with expensivenpc in my game for a couple of hours last night and didn't have any problems.

But I will definitely wait until it is cheaper.

Does it get cheaper?  I've never seen an EP get cheaper, at least not where I live.

Only way I've seen one get cheaper is when it shows up at Costco.  I was surprised - when I bought mine yesterday at Target I got a $5 gift card.  Not much, but it's something!  Grin

Simple question here, how many cd's there is to install and is it still running smooth on older pc.

Nightlife runs fine on my computer but I worry a lot about OFB.

My computer is pretty ancient (according to the specs I shouldn't be able to play), and it ran about as well as Nightlife.  I haven't tried running it with all my custom content - that's tonight's project.  But I had in all my custom clothing, hair, and recolors, and I thought it was a little bit faster.

You're welcome Blue - I just downloaded all of her blonde hair over the weekend so I could finally have some blonde sims that didn't look bad!

The ash blonde recolors are at Lyran's site - http://www.lyran.net/ts2/  The hair is under the 'Genetics' section.
