Obviously not on this page, despite you helpfully providing them with a direct link. How nice of you to point my misread out! With sarcasm too! How very special. Thank you.

So it seems there is an entirely hidden/unavailable aspects of the game that you have uncovered! If I am reading right there is available, with your fix, the ability for a public school sim to be invited to private school based on their grades?

LOL! The ol' Google of course! Very easy to find as Google responded well and lead me to your site, Simlogical. I've been there so many times and have quite a number of the mods from there, but had not seen the birthday cake mod before. I've downloaded it, and know it works with the aging cheat off. I am assuming then, that the disablePuppyKittenAging should not be used either.

But that wouldb't be possible if you had someething l ike my no aging hack in.
Hi Inge! I searched and found the thread where you mentioned the 'no aging birthday cake'. No links were given, and no search provided the location of it being here. Leads me to believe it is posted elsewhere. I will search it out to learn more about it.

You know when a kid is at school and they get §100 from grandparents? Well, the money they get is not being credited to the household budget. I only noticed because I was playing with the dirt-poor Newson family and they really needed that money! All eps/sps>AL & Ikea, ALp2. Happening to anyone else?
Hi Emma, Funny you should bring this up, this same thing has been bothering me. I first noticed it sometime back in "Seasons" that the $100.00 wasn't actually getting rec'd. It was only at that ep I really first started to watch. I have up to Free Time. I've never seen any money from grandparents go into the sim household money. Never a 'ching' sound of money that I can remember since the base game. It moves so fast and unexpectedly with the pop up notice that one hasn't a chance to check what funds were prior to it, but again no 'ching' sound ever, and no money either.

I play with aging off constantly, and grades do rise.
If your sims are frozen on their first day of the life stage, then you are not getting the 'homework' part of the grade change calculation applied. Install Inge's patch to fix that. There are other factors of the calculation such a mood that are taken into account Hi Tunaisafish, I've had no problems with grades. After 8pm, I put 'aging on' grow up the toddler/child of my choice, put 'aging off' cheat back on. The kid goes to school and with doing homework, going to class the grades go up. They get the family hurrahs and the money rewarded by proud family pop up. All works normally and I've not noticed a problem. There is quite a number of sims at the A+ level. I've also had, when a sim missed school, a grade was deducted and the grade went down. After a day or two, the grade would go back up. I don't find anything frozen or any negative factors with it this way.

Are you able to resurrect the dead sim? For the one that is currently invisible can you direct her to sell the lot? Let her die too and try resurrecting her too. I would do a back up before trying any of this, just in case. The lot could be sold and bulldozed. Just an idea.

Since FT, I've seen an increase with toddlers following a parent The toddlers were born pre FT and hadn't been so inclined before. Also noticed that veggie gardens seem to need more watering and weeding since FT iwas nstalled. I've had to cut back from 5 or 6 of each plant to 2 or 3 of each. Even with reducing the number of plants, veggie gardens still take more time and attention than before FT.

So many interesting and well thought out ways of playing Sims2 have been posted here! I am so less organized and creative.
I have pretty much kept my game with happy family sims who have kids, pets, learning, and fun. Everyone gets along in my Simland. That was until recently. I added a male sim I made. He, Robin Bay Banners, is a family sim who I made a romance sim as secondary aspiration. He is pretty darn good looking and does not act like a family sim at all.
He just wants to woohoo every female he meets which now tallies at 16. They swoon for him and he for them. Happily married or single, it doesn't matter. I just allow the sims to pursue their wants. He just might rock apart the happy simworld, he is already creating problems with getting caught by the many current lovers.
I don't have an interest in Sims3, so I won't be 'getting it'. Not interested in Apartment Life either. I would rather continue to use Emma's Apartment lot. Just need to make sure that I do not have toddlers living with the wrong mothers. That just doesn't work well at all, I've found.

Any chance that the vacation jewelry might be forthcoming? Already has been done.[/quote] Thank you for the link. The cautionary statement does seem to not encourage usage being that it interfers with 'combing for shells'. I would be unlikely to remember to remove those download racks after the recommended CAS use. Given that, I will make myself content and satisfied with the vacation souvenirs that you have made available. Much thanks.

Smoking at your computer is bad, because all the crud you blow out from your cigarettes is sucked into the computer and plasters itself over the boards, eventually shorting something out.
Very true. My own experience is that smoking leaves a sticky tar residue all over the interior. Makes sucked in stuff more likely to stick on fans, etc.

I haven't had the case off in a while so I'm about to take it off and go in with a can of compressed air. I imagine it looks pretty nasty in there since I smoke around the computer. I'll leave the case off and see if things work better.
At Best Buy's Geek Squad, they had 2 sets of pictures of a pc interior. The pc was loaded with, what looked like, from a long-haired dog. One picture showed a hand with a fist full of hair that was pulled out. All the opennings and fans were blocked and filled. The most amazing thing was the dead bug that lay at the bottom with its little feet up. Yet, I understand, the pc still worked. Sorry Dark Trepie, I don't know enough to comment on your question. Just the the above quote brought those pictures to mind.

Yeah, it's Inge's teleporter. My holding lot is equipped with the teleporter, Monique's computer, Inge's staythings shrub, a phone, the lot debugger, and Christianlov's hacked clothing rack. It fulfills dual purposes as the place sims hang out at when they've left home/college mid-season and aren't ready to be placed yet, and as the townie aging headquarters. Someone's always on that lot for some reason or another. The twin-sets were having a grand old time, considering that this was my second aging round and I had 15 townies to off. I was wondering if those 2 tombstones represented some sort of cemetary, or recently dead. I just finished downloading the Inge's teleporter. Thank you for your help I cannot do with out my teleport all stupid nonplayable sims must die. I've killed hafe of garden club memebers and professors ect are gone. Also got my little grave yard for them cause sometimes they do pop back if you sell or delete the grave.
Does killing off professors, and garden club members mess up the game? Are they the type of NPC that shouldn't be messed with, or am I under a misunderstanding. Or are these more townie types rather than NPCs?

|

Have you tried to remove the entire download folder and play to see if that works? I've known that just regular cc can cause a conflict. Been there myself having something not work due to custom content. If you have cc in Collections folder, the problem could be there. If you have another pc account that isn't ever used for gameplay, a clean type game, try playing that with the hack installed.
The Hack Conflict Detection Tool doesn't scan Collections folder, if I am remembering correctly. So if some hack/mod was in the Collection folder, I am not sure the tool would detect it.

The statue is big, but there's usually enough room on the existing comm lots to put it somewhere. Like the lot you talked about (the pagoda lot with the food stand and the wall) -- the ninja statute fits on the right-hand side of the entrance gate right in front, not far from the phone booth. On the Lucky Shrine lot, you can stick it between the bathroom and the gift shop. On the 'tea party' lot (with the two tea pavilions and food stand and zen garden), the only place it really fits is at the back of the lot, and then you have to remove one of the park benches.
Good idea, I will just have to squeeze it iin like you suggested and get that monster statue to fit. lol.

Not in my 'hood, he doesn't. Custom name list and rotating default face replacements. There is no Goopy. Although, apparently I forgot to replace nodormieregen and now I have three girls I know I didn't create. Since I age townies in rounds, I would see a YA twice at the least (this is assuming they never came home with a kid from school or turned up at AfterSix, the teen hangout) before. Very frustrating. WandaAnn, I was pausing and smite-queuing until I had one of my elders who refused to kick it that way. I have a photo in one of my Photobucket accounts of the stubborn one being P&L'ed by twinset cousins: I do need to get the notownieregen and nodormieregen. Rather invalidates the killings without stopping others from developing. I know which ones come in as replacements as they are wearing cc hairs that had recently been put into my downloads. I've seen the same scenerio when tryng to smite off a sim. They look fried and pee while another pokes and laughs, yet it refuses to meet the Reaper. Big contrast to my own sims, who would have died at that point. First time I've seen a group poke and laugh, even the cat came to see! lol

The additional hidden hunger and other motives has me stumped as to why EA would do that. I know that many of the townies are named after EA employees, are they trying to ensure their own named sims existance. There is a list of credits in the game and it is surprising to see how many have a townie named after them. I don't think that theory is going to float given all the times Goopy has died. Something we are all guilty of, I'm sure. Goopy has died? I thought he just reincarnates.

Glad to know I am not the only one who wants to get rid of certain townies.
All response are terrific answers and I will try them all. One way or another they must die. Strange thing is that some do die rather easily in FT. 4-5 hits with the 'smite' action reduces them to a gravestone, once their hunger and energy is in the red. Others like Pong King keep hanging on wiith a vengence.

Oh, heck, why am I asking and looking for reason when it comes to EA Games' methods. I should know by now that when it comes to EA, it doesn't need to make sense.
Good point on that "just to annoy us" thought, Jolrei.
Love that slogan, Snowbawl, made me laugh. I will hold you to that guarantee. lol.
Thank you for the help and recommndations, I will be trying each one. (rubs hands together with evil glee)
ETA: Now I know why Pong King isn't dying. Snowbawl left Reaper exhausted from the killing spree and Reaper left town to get some rest.

|

Most pesky and ugly townies are easy to kill off, others refuse to die no matter what is done to them.
Pong King is the latest of those that just won't leave the sim world. I've reduced his needs to bright red. I've used the tombstone of L&D and tried each option. I've turned him into a Plant Sim and deprived him of water, sun, and love. I've used the lot debugger to 'smite' him in violent succession while all his needs were reduced. I even made a small swimming pool, got him in and took the ladder away. I have aged him to an elder and tried all methods to kill him. He still lives, and refuses to die.
Is it just that some sims are made not to die? What is the best way to kill these hanger ons quickly and with less torture? I think he once was an annoying kid who wouldn't stop coming around and constantly followed my sim kids off the school bus.
Can he be killed and how? Thank you for any information on how to eliminate unwanted sims.

Could you have made those folders "hidden" instead of "read only"? There is a way to allow hidden folders to be seen. Just can't remember what I did to make hidden folders visible as I've only used it once and left it that way from years back.
