1  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: So anyone else not so happy about the new lifetime aspiration thing in FT? on: 2008 March 01, 20:49:27
How often does the bar fill for just keeping up a generally high aspiration?  Does having a gold or platinum aspiration affect it differently?
2  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Glamour Life Furniture not fully pets enabled on: 2006 October 23, 00:46:22
At least you can get the Glamour Life furniture to show.  All the Glamour Life additions are missing since I installed Pets.

That's because your installation messed up and you didn't know it. You're going to have to uninstall Pets manually, and then uninstall the whole ugly mess and reinstall. One person had luck with just getting rid of Pets, then removing the Sims2 folder from My Documents (the whole thing, not just downloads) and then installing Pets, but someone else didn't. Worth a try if you don't feel like reinstalling everything, though.
All right, it's working now.  I've just had so many Maxian bugs (like the nVidia drivers issue) that nailing that one down was driving me crazy.  In my case, I uninstalled Pets, then uninstalled Glamour Life just as a test.   The Pets installation had to be removed manually though, which isn't hard but tedious.  Reinstalled GL and Pets and the GL stuff is back.  Thanks.  Worth every penny of my illustrious subscription fees.

4  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: New Patches for OFB and FFS on: 2006 June 26, 23:17:04
Installed patch over OFB patch 1.  Ran the game with a full downloads folder.  Besides the usual reseting Sims, everything was fine.  No re-installs, nothing.  Fortunately, I have no globals that are overridden by it.

The link still isn't working - it seems the file doesn't exist.  I was also trying to get the NL version since I just got a copy for my sibling.

Snip.
teaching a toddler who drank smart milk to walk while the parent has a smart cap on
That went away with Nightlife for me.  Did it come back?
7  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: NL Cemetary Tombstone Problem (Possible Fix) on: 2005 October 08, 18:36:35
Anyone else seeing a previously platinum gravestone turn gray upon putting it in the graveyard?  I had this happen to one of mine and it's driving me mad because I have no idea why this happened.
8  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: What do YOU do with your platinum people? on: 2005 September 28, 21:49:41
I like the perma-plats, because it's one less Sim to stress over when things get hectic.  These Sims are the ones who get to cook the meals, clean the house, etc.  If things are calm, then I just go back to shooting for wants, in particular, the power wants (such as "30 Best Friends") that are insane.

Admittedly, some Sims are nearly impossible to satisfy the LTW.
9  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: The best Dream Date is done at home! on: 2005 September 27, 22:52:44
I have had a ridiculous amount of woohoo rolls on at-home dates, while this phenomenon has only appeared once on a community lot date.  I still prefer the community lots, if only because it's slightly easier for my romance sims to run and hide on those.
10  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Mrs. Crumplebottom Vampire. Her true calling? on: 2005 September 23, 15:11:51
And geez, does Benjamin Long get along with ANYONE? He's like the world's biggest asshat in my game.
Actually, the first sim I ever made married Benjamin Long and they get along great.  He's also friends with about half the neighborhood.

It's not genetic because kids can't be vampires.  Just have their parents chomp on em' when they hit their teens and say it's a rite of passage.

I've been down to two guests Sad  Any NL compatible hacks out there yet?
13  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Married+kids in NL on: 2005 September 19, 03:37:52
I've been digging the casual outings aspect of this expansion.  It always bothered me that Hot Date only gave anything fun to dates, and that this generation has had nothing to do for people who are friends.  Now they're hopping around all over the place.  The popularity Sims love it.
14  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Moody sims: furious and contact in NightLife on: 2005 September 19, 03:35:25
I like it for the variety.  It used to be a pain making anyone NOT like each other.  Now there's some spice.

Example.  In my Pleasant household, Coral Oldie has been living with her daughter Mary-Sue ever since her husband Herb passed away.  Coral watches Daniel like a hawk, and she caught him with a floozy making out in the house.  Like any loving mother would do, she stood up for her daughter by assaulting the harlot.  After losing miserably, she hit the furious reaction and now bad mouths the slut at every turn.  Mary-Sue won a fight with the same woman within minutes, but since she kicked her ass, she isn't furious.

I should point out, however, that I'm getting corrupted memories everytime I use the "Bad Mouth" option with Coral.  It's a real pain, but it's pretty funny that they can trash a relationship with a separate sim by talking trash.  I just thought maybe we'd seen the end of squiggly line memories.
15  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Flaming sack of poo?? Anyone else gotten this? on: 2005 September 18, 18:22:11
Heh heh.  In my game, Nina Caliente married Don, and she's currently sleeping with one of the townies as well as Daniel Pleasant on top of her husband.  Her sister Dina married Mortimer.

Dina gets a call from her sister to go out.  So I send her out and stupid Nina brought as her company all THREE of her lovers.  So it was quite a juggling act to keep them from catching each other, but I'm proud to say, Nina got off scott-free.  In my game, Nina is a much more successful cheater than Don (who's had several of HIS dates pummled into submission by his jealous wife), so this actually worked out.

Too bad Nina never noticed her own sister never did get over her obsession with Don Grin
16  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Matchmaker Madness on: 2005 September 18, 18:13:38
My matchmakers have been incredibly bizarre.  First round, Nina Caliente gets an old guy on his last legs and those are her turn offs.  Second time I tried with Kimiko sakimoto, a sim I rolled entirely to fart around with Nightlife stuff.  She gets a young, handsome popularity Sims that absolutely adores her, leaves her flowers, takes her on fun dates, etc.  They're wild about each other and their last date consisted entirely of them rolling wants to woohoo in the car (and can I state my objection to a lack of car woohoo cinemas?!  Sheesh.)  They only had one bad date, actually, just do to Kimiko being just a wee bit too frisky with her date before he was ready.

I have no idea how the matchmakers are picking these people to get such polar opposites
17  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Nightlife bugs on: 2005 September 18, 16:39:22
Tom did you make a note yet of the bug about child visitors going home too early? 6pm they leave now.

Does this happen on Downtown community lots or on any lot?
In my case, it's happening on home lots, but I haven't tried it on Downtown or other community lots.  Their parents don't even show to collect them, the kids just say "Look at the time, I need to be getting back!" and just leave.
18  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Stay late hack? on: 2005 September 18, 16:32:50
I'd like one that includes kids in it - NL seems to tell children to leave at 6PM!  They can't even stay for dinner anymore Embarrassed
19  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: mods that do and don't work on: 2005 September 15, 19:55:20
Does payatbox.package still work?  Kind of afraid to try it.

I have the FFS Lot Debugger in my game still, since I had some non-Uni sims I wanted to upgrade.  I haven't tried any of it's other functions, but upgrading their want slots hasn't caused my game to explode into a big fire ball visable from space.
