TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Game freezes when my sims tries to get mail, in Seasons
|
on: 2013 January 06, 15:59:57
|
I have all the expansions packs, and all but two of the stuff packs, and my game is patched to 1.42. I use win 7, and the game runs smoothly under all circumstances except the one mentioned below.
I have AM installed as well.
My game freezes whenever my sim tries to get mail out of the mailbox, on all saves, and with different sims, in different saves.
I have googled the error, and it seems to be EAxian, but there is no readily available fix for it, that I have found.
I did a search here as well, and found nothing, so I figured I would ask those that are wiser than me in the ways of Sims if you perhaps know of a solution (Other than the obvious "Don't ever get mail again stupid!")
I await the poking with pointy sticks and ridicule.
Thank you in advance from a long time lurker.

TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Playable sim becomes married to townie when traveling to China

I downloaded it two days ago, and I made sure it was not the beta one for the World creation patch, which I haven't put on my system. And I know for a fact that AM is installed in my game, as I have it set to autosave my game every 15 mins, and had to change a setting in game to make it save while I was playing and not only when paused.
Then again, I obviously suck, so when I get back to my computer, I will yank all mods (read AM as that is all I have installed) and reinstall with a fresh download just to be on the safe side.

TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Playable sim becomes married to townie when traveling to China

Hi again.
I seem to have a problem with my game, and would like to know whether it is completely hosed, or there are anything I can do to save my poor sim.
I have WA, and have patched it but not with the world building thingie. I have played her a bit, a few days, and she has been on various vacations all over, getting to visa level 2 at all 3 destinations. One of the current missions was to talk some vacation townies into letting a guy from France crash at their place, and I did that fine with the Egyptians. But whenever i make my sim travel to China, she ends up with a broken heart because her husband has died. Mind you, shes single, not married, not engaged, not even romantically involved with anyone, let alone Mr. Hong whose surname she suddenly aqquires. Basically the game seems to think that she has married a vacation townie, and that he croaked the moment she arrived in China. Reloading to older savegames and trying from them gives the same result, although in one instance he got her surname, but still kicked the bucket. She can travel to both Egypt and France no trouble, but China gives me grief. Returning from the vacation does not reset her lastname, or her widowed status. Now, I dont mind sims having a bit of a life, and I quite like a few unexpected suprises, but a grieving sim mouring a husband she did not even have, that annoys me.
So, can I somehow save my game, or is the start of global meltdown, and my best course of action is to delete the savegames, and make a new sims to play with?
Thank you all very much in advance.

I have done searches both on MATY and on Google, and have found the site by Carl, where there is a somewhat in depth explanation of some of the workings, but I lack a more definitive answer to which combos are the most ultimate. So, I come here asking for an answer, as I am sure someone here knows the Most Awesome Nectar(tm) combination.
Just pointing out what I started out writing, but thank you anyways

Yes, I've read the Wiki, but it does not give any recipes. What I am looking for is something a bit more specific when it comes to mixing and matching fruit, or a definitive ruling that it is completely sadorandom and any combination of fruit can yield the most awesome nectar ever for different people.

Hey there.
I've been searching high and low, and although MATY is usually the palce to go to, if you want to know something definitive about how the game works, unfortunately I am drawing a blank when it comes to nectar making and the recipes involved.
I am well aware that there are a few hundred thousand combinations that can be done when it comes to Nectar recipes, but I am sure there must be some kind of logic to which combos yield the best nectar, both simoleon-wise, and taste-wise.
Thank you very much in advance for all replies, both positive and negative.

Donation complete, and as I am vain, I would like the title, if possible. Feminine form pretty please.
Also, I am wondering, are there anything specific we had to do to tie the donation to our MATY username? 'Cause if there were, I didn't know and/or forgot.

Thirded. Oh and eh, according to the list two posts above, as far as I can see, aren't life fruit the best fertilizer, both when it comes to value and longevity? Better than both lobster and garlic? I know you can use the lifefruit to extend a sims life, but 3 bushes can give a supply large enough for 5 sims, as well as fertilizing a few other plants. At least that is how it works in my sim's gardenNope, I just cant read. Life fruit still beats the snot out of the store bought fertilizers though.

If you have a Deathflower in your sims inventory when he/she bites the bullet, The Grim Reaper will take the flower instead of your sim, as long as its not biting due to old age. Basically its a "Donīt die from accidents" free pass. The Deathfruit plant dies after 1 harvest, but sims with Super Green Thumb can try to revive it. This will only work some of the time, although it enables you to get 2 to 3 harvests in total from the plant, before it either disappears or goes barren.
Life Fruits will give your sim 1 day of life back if eaten.
Having a flame fruit in your inventory can give your sim a happy moodlet about sitting near a campfire.
Usage of fruit and veggies from the fride goes in alphabetical order, as far as I have noticed. Apples before Grapes before limes etc.
Also, how do I read the list of fertilizers from the prima guide? Should I, to get the best result, always just use angelfish no matter what the quality of the plant?

Ok, I guess I have a thing for games where I can force some hapless avatar to tend plants for hours on end. Due to this sadistic streak of mine, I've created a list of all the seeds and what types they are. I have decided to list it here, and ask for help. Plant name | Common | Uncommon | Rare | Special | Comment | Apple Tree | X | | | | You get this type of seed by learning 1 in gardening skill. Found as seed randomly in parks and woodlands. Can also be harvested from townie gardens | Grapevine | X | | | | Ditto | Lettuce | X | | | | Ditto | Tomato Plant | X | | | | Ditto | Lime Tree | | X | | | Found as seed randomly in parks and woodlands. Can also be harvested from townie gardens | Onion Plant | | X | | | Ditto | Potato Vine | | X | | | Ditto | Watermelon Vine | | X | | | Ditto | Bell Pepper Plant | | | X | | Ditto | Garlic Plant | | | X | | Ditto | Death Flower Plant | | | | X | Ditto. Only found at the graveyeard though. | Flame Fruit Plant | | | | X | Ditto | Life Fruit Plant | | | | X | Found as seed randomly in parks and woodlands | Money Tree | | | | X | Ditto, and drops Money Tree seeds randomly when full grown | Egg Plant | | | | X | *Obtained from an opportunity | Cheese Plant | | | | X | *Obtained from an opportunity | Burger Patty Plant | | | | X | **Obtained from an opportunity | Steak Plant | | | | X | **Obtained from an opportunity | Omni Plant | | | | X | ***Obtained from an opportunity |
*Gained from opportunity that crops up when you get to high gardening skills, is still random. Opens up for next step in special plants. **Gained from opportunity that shows up after you learn the egg plant and cheese plant skill. Once done promises to give another oportunity that will open up omni plant. ***Gained from opportunity that shows up after learning the steak and burger patty plant skill. You gain a few seeds and can now order more omni plant seeds via the mailbox. You can feed the omni plant any veggies, and fish you can find. You can also feed it all books, with the exeption of the magic scroll books that go poof when read. (You can't reproduce the ambrosia recipe this way. Darn it!) The omni plants looks pretty weird with 4 swordfish growing on it. Always worth a try ;-) When you plant a plant from a veggie you already know the quality of, the new plant will be one better quality. E.g. Nice garlic planted gives a plant with Very Nice quality. What I can't figure out, and need some help on, is wtf does fertilizing the plants do? As far as I have been able to determine, it does nothing at all, zip, zilch to the quality of the plant. Could it be that it instead prolongs the life cycle of the plant, or makes it sprout fruit/veggies more often, so you can harvest every day instead of every other or third day? Any help on this issue is appreciated. Thank you in advance. /Edit to fix lime seeds, tomatos and typos. Thank you

Money trees can be found as Special type seeds around town. Trouble is, that so can the flame bush, the life fruit bush, and the Death flower bush. So, basically you have a 1/4 chance of it being a money tree when you find a Special seed.
Once the money tree grows up, and starts being ready to harvest, there is a modest chance that it will drop a money tree seed. That can then be used to plant another one.
I just picked a whole lot of unknown special seeds and planted them. After around 40 seeds i had 6 money trees.

TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Important notice from the GRAMMAR POLICE. Plz read. This means you.

An example of an ESL that not only does not have to worry about the Grammar Cops, but has a better grasp of English than many of our regulars. Normally I lurk a lot, read a lot, and try not to post a lot, as english is my secondary language, and I am scared of the grammar police. But, I have a question and I am hankering for an answer, so here goes:
Do anyone know what fertilization of the plants you can grow actually do? As I understand it, quality is based on what you plant, (The seed's quality +1 = the plant's quality) and thus fertilization with rare fish or plants, means nothing. So I am wondering if anyone have found a secret about it that I am missing.
*Runs for cover again.*
*Delurks* I am... Both flattered, and afraid that I will now be in the searchlight of the GP. At least I now know that someone bothered to read my post, although an answer to my question is still nowhere to be found. Thank you for the comment lemmiwinks, it means a lot to me.
