1  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Not recognizing expansions on fresh install on: 2011 February 22, 19:23:38
I just installed all the expansions and SPs on a new Windows 7 computer, patching each game after installing it.  When I run the game (from the Mansion & Garden Stuff exe, since it's the most recent), it doesn't recognize BV, FT, and AL.  I get the following messages:
"You have uninstalled The Sims 2 Bon Voyage.  If you continue, all Sims will return from vacation and be refunded for any purchased vacation homes."
"You have uninstalled The Sims 2 FreeTime.  If you continue, hobby secret lots will be removed."
"You have uninstalled The Sims 2 Apartment Life.  If you continue, all apartment lots will be converted to residential lots and all apartment residents will be moved to the family bin."
The "expansion info" buttons in the top right of the neighborhood screen are greyed out for those three EPs.  Some clothes/hair/items/etc from these expansions show up in CAS and Build/Buy mode, and some are listed but appear invisible.  Belladonna Cove appears in the neighborhood select screen, but crashes the game if I try to play it.
The Bon Voyage, FreeTime, and Apartment Life folders are intact in Program Files, are listed in Add/Remove Programs, and have entries under "EA GAMES" in the registry.
The registry key "EPsInstalled" under "EA GAMES/The Sims 2/" says "Sims2EP1.exe,Sims2EP2.exe,Sims2EP3.exe,Sims2EP4.exe,Sims2EP5.exe,Sims2EP6.exe,Sims2EP7.exe,Sims2EP8.exe,Sims2EP9.exe", which seems to be in order.
I tried uninstalling/reinstalling BV, FT, AL, and M&G and had the same result.  Is there anything I can do besides uninstalling everything and reinstalling again?

This has been happening to me too, except instead of after tours, it happens whenever I click on the pay phone at a community lot.
3  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / No memory for woohoo in tent on: 2007 September 19, 03:05:33
I had a romance sim on vacation in Three Lakes who rolled a want to woohoo in a tent, so I had her do it with a random tourist.  That was her first woohoo with that tourist, and it was supposedly public.  Though it fulfilled the want, it didn't generate any memories, and they didn't get the little floating woohoo hearts over their heads.  I tried a hammock, and that gave her a generic "Did WooHoo" memory and the floating hearts, but no public woohoo memory.  Does anyone know what could be causing this?  As far as I know, I have no non-awesome or non-BV-compatible hacks.
4  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Removing custom meshes on: 2007 July 04, 02:28:26
I have some downloaded clothing where I really like the texture, but there's a custom mesh that I don't like that makes my sims look unnaturally skinny.  Is there any way to make them not use the custom mesh and just look normal?
5  TS2: Burnination / Taster's Choice / Re: Testers wanted: Color Binning Tool on: 2006 July 13, 04:23:30
When I try to use it I have an error message from simPe saying "unable to start tool plugin"
attached text file with the complete error message.
What am I missing ?

I had that problem, but I re-installed SimPE and that fixed it.
6  TS2: Burnination / Peasantry / Re: All the icons from the game. Transparent PNG images. on: 2006 July 12, 05:48:44
This is really cool!  There's some icons in there that don't look familiar at all to me.  One interesting file I found is called uieffects-headlines-conversationbirdbee010_lifo_1024x64.png .  It has some gender symbols and a picture of a baby.  conversationbirdbee, huh?
7  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: How can you change the music on the loading screen? on: 2006 March 05, 01:28:10
Thanks, Venusy!  That worked fine. Grin  Now I don't have to listen to the OFB music.  Hopefully the music for the next expansion is better...

Edit: Just for fun, I tried replacing the music with a completely different song that I have that isn't even from the Sims, and that worked too.  I wonder if it's possible to do that for the neighborhood music, too...
8  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / How can you change the music on the loading screen? on: 2006 March 04, 21:29:00
I just got OFB, but I don't really like the music it plays on the loading screen when you first boot up the game.  I liked the NL music better.  Is there any way to make it so that it plays the NL loading music instead of the OFB music?

Can you have a baby taken away by the social worker, then have another non-Ethiopian family adopt it and raise it until it's a child, then have the social worker come again and have the original family adopt it back?
