Is it wise to patch a game if you've never had any of the issues it fixes?  The only one I've seen is toddlers coming along when you "invite household" and like the house breaking "bug" with the original game I happened to like it.  I'd hate to patch it and end up fixing a problem I like, and gaining ones I don't.  ....maybe it's wise to just wait the 26 days unitl Seasons and enjoy my toddler-filled birthday parties for another month.

I had that glitch just after OFB came out.  I fixed it by disabling bump mapping.  Not sure if thats whats up with yours, but thats how I fixed mine.  Same symptoms (though occasionally, mine would be reversed, where there would be a body but no head).  I used a "force bump mapping" thread I found on an internet search and simply did the opposite of what they said. I've a feeling its a solo "Romantic" shot.  I've never seen that come up when I clicked on it, but its possible that since there is a couple's choice for that, that there is also a singles pose as well.  It is also highly possible that the game designers just left the user-enabled part of the action disabled, and made it autonmous only.

It's from eclecticsims.com.  i'm not sure if thats the one that is free or not...i know she changed one, but can't remember if it was that one or not.

The reason you need to redownload CEP for the recolors to show up after reinstalling a game, is because it appends other files in the directory, and references them as well.  As far as I can tell you always need to reinstall it, as it won't update.  The CEP controlly-thingy thats in your downloads folder is generally set to "Read-only" and so won't record if you reinstall the game

Err...while I agree that most of the orgional challenge was historically inaccurate, I have one point to make about gameplay.  Kids get taken by the social worker for not going to school, but Teens do not.  So, as the challenge stated, teen girls can't go to school, and this would be acceptable within a non-hacked game.  Also, this would lead to them not being allowed to enter University on the game's system (cannot be failing to apply).  I think perhaps a better system is that no more than one girl for every 2 or 3 generations may attend school and university after they become a teen.  This is more realistic, as not every generation had a girl that went on to break societal norms.  Or perhaps a random system for assigning aspirations after the first aim (a la Legacy) and only knowledge girls may attend school in their teen years?

All that said, I think I may try this out.  The clothes alone would be a challenge....

It takes a couple of weeks to throw together a spectacular set of custom things from someone working in their spare time, and it takes months to create a product by people dedicating more than eight hours a day on it (remember the letter from the wife of someone complaining about how she never saw her gameprogramming husband?) but the custom creators deserve money, not the people who actually made the game that we all enjoy so much.
Ironic.

What I find ironic is that its seen as okay for a full team of expert programmers to make 60 objects in a few months, when a bunch of hackers in their spare time can throw the sixty together  in half that.  There were fixes for bugs in all three expansions in just days, here and other places, yet Maxis took until after Nightlife was released to fix University.  And people were okay with that.

I'm all for a free market economy, but they only work if consumers are rational.  Anyone who's ever even peaked into the BBS can tell that at least the consumers THERE aren't generally rational, which makes the whole market fall apart.  60 items and no interactions isn't worth *MY* $20, though I'm not against snagging it from someone else, or having my sisters buy it for me.  The items are great yes, but J.M. makes better patches, and Numenor makes better items...and neither are trying to take $20 for it.

Hopefully this prices enough people out of the market that they won't do this for the next expansion.  i doubt it though....
