1  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Installing holiday packs with nocd exe on: 2009 November 25, 23:54:23
I'm running AL from a nocd. In the TSBin folder I have the EP8.exe and EP8_NOCD.exe. Shortcut on desktop points to the nocd.
Now I want to install the holiday mini and party pack executables. According to the poster they both apply as a patch.
So my question is do I have to change the setup in the TSBin folder or the shortcut before running the holiday exe's, and if so what exactly do I change? (I don't even remember how I got the game to run from the nocd while the original executable is still in the same folder  Undecided)

Thanks!

You're welcome. If I remember correctly (haven't played in a while) the perma-plat sims won't go down to gold and below right away but they will over time. I remember thinking the mod wasn't working at first but it does.  Smiley

I have found that Hook's mod works well by allowing the LTW meter to decay slowly over time. Here's the link

4  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Roommates & Work Income on: 2009 March 12, 02:05:22
I just started exploring this roommate stuff, as I previously thought they weren't worth the trouble, and noticed when they went to work the money did not get added to the family's account.
Isn't the whole purpose for their existence to help pay rent, bills, etc? So, what is the point of having one besides free babysitting (if they even do that)? Sheesh.
5  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Roommates & Work Income on: 2009 March 09, 02:35:44
Are the wages the roommates make from their jobs supposed to be added to the family's household funds, or does it go in some sort of hidden account?
 Huh
6  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: "Thanks for the fun note" - not appearing in inventory on: 2009 March 04, 17:17:20
Well, that's how EAXIS fixed it. I will investigate the matter when I get a chance, but I am filing it as a lower priority issue, given that I don't have a good test case and it does not represent a condition of CERTAIN 3D DOOM.

Lips sealed Thank you Lips sealed  for fixing the date letters.
Kiss
It is working so well now that my sim received a letter in the mail addressed to her deceased father from his deceased mistress.
(Now if only they would have real reactions to those kind of letters, lol)

Embarrassed ... well, as it turns out the ringer was off. Now my sim is able to collect the monies.

Yes, it would be nice to have the call/money collected regardless if the ringer is off.
8  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: No Restaurant Guide Royalties? on: 2009 March 04, 02:05:24
Yes there is a land line. Will check the ringer...
9  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / No Restaurant Guide Royalties? on: 2009 March 03, 17:06:45
I didn't break it, but it seems broke...

After writing a restaurant guide I get a pop-up saying hopefully it does well but there is no call for the sim to get the royalty check. This is on a regular residential lot. Is there something I'm missing about this feature? I assumed it was supposed to work just like writing novels. Anyone else having this problem?
10  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: "Thanks for the fun note" - not appearing in inventory on: 2009 February 11, 03:22:17
Yes. Just be happy that at least it doesn't error and jam your mailbox permanently anymore.

So that was the only way to fix it was to get rid of them? I kind of liked those.

...so do I   Sad
11  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / "Thanks for the fun note" - not appearing in inventory on: 2009 February 11, 02:30:57
Lately I've noticed when a "thanks for the fun" note is delivered and a sim checks the mailbox, the note never appears in the sim's inventory.
This happenes on residental lots. Not sure about apt lots. Any ideas what could be causing this?

Gracias Senor, will try to proscribe the stereo.

Oh and I do have antivationactions installed so unless I have a conflict somewhere that doesn't help. My sims will still hula/slap dance if the stereo is on and then macro pushes them to keep doing it.
14  Awesomeware / The Armory / Re: The One Shiny: Autonomy Control on: 2008 December 14, 22:06:40
I have been trying to 'proscribe' hula-dancing to no avail. The option appears when sims are autonomously doing the hula but they still keep doing it after I proscribe and make them stop.
Also (unrelated to this hack), why does macro push the hula dance onto sims even though I cancel the action?
15  Awesomeware / The Armory / Re: Hack Directory - All Hacks on: 2008 October 28, 01:44:23
Pescado, perhaps you should remove it from the AL directory?  I went in there to check on it for PlayLives, and there it was.  What does it do, anyway?

19  Darcyland / Lord Darcy Investigates / Re: OMSPs for Usable Kitchen Counter and End Table cloned from the actual end table on: 2008 September 14, 20:28:37
I think AL b0rked OMSPs hopelessly for Apartments. The problem lies not in OMSPs per se, but in the strange way that neighbor's furniture is spawned when Sims are visiting their neighbors. If two objects are on top of each other with the help of moveobjects cheat, which is basically the whole point of OMSPs, the game randomly zaps one of them and allows only one object per tile. Furthermore, the game forces all objects which you carefully placed with snapobjectstogrid cheat to fit the grid during the session. Angry

This happens for all objects, not just for my OMSPs, as shown in the screenshot.

okay, thanks for checking on this.
20  Darcyland / Lord Darcy Investigates / Re: OMSPs for Usable Kitchen Counter and End Table cloned from the actual end table on: 2008 September 12, 02:38:13
I think this might be borked in AL. I used the end table ones in a playable apartment lot but when I visited as a neighbor the end table was invisible/disappeared and the items I placed on the OMSP floating in the air. I guess the OMSP's were still there but the table was gone. I used a standard Maxi end table. Will try again and see what happens.
21  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: Apartment Life Borkiness, or how i ended the world in 1 hour. on: 2008 September 12, 02:29:51
Anyone else experiencing these borkiness(es?)...

1 - Carpool coming for playable sim neighbor (while playing another apt) but not returning them to the lot. Even when existing and reloading. When I play the "lost" neighbor lot they are there. How can I get this "lost" sim back when playing neighbors lot?

2 - If/when apartment door becomes stuck and you buy a new one, the apartment will become vacant and the sims living there will begin to reset and portraits will change repeatedly.

3 - Can't move occupied apartment lots from neighborhood view
22  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: How to get rid of SecuRom, NOW on: 2008 September 02, 04:14:41
Don't have Securom (I don't think, running Admin account, don't see anything) and no FreeTime patches installed but now about to install ApartmentLife, so I'm confused about order...

Option 1:  Check/Remove Securom; install FT patches 1, 2 and/or 3 (?) ; install AL ; remove securom again(?) ; run from no crack CD
or
Option 2: Install FT patches 1, 2 and/or 3 (?) ; install AL ; check/remove securom(?) ; run from no crack CD

Option 1 seems like unnecessary work but I want to make sure my computer is/stays clean.
