When I first tried Apartment life a few months ago, I had saving problems too. I was checking out the new features  with one of the premades in Belladonna Cove, but at seemingly random times, the game would freeze up when I clicked save. I redid things step by step and tried to save afterward until I figured out what action caused the freeze. It was clearing the neighborhood gossip with the Lot Debugger. The default neighborhood information is probably borked up, as usual. I wasn't using a cleaned up neighborhood template.

Actually, the alien eye issue has already been fixed.

yourdrive/Program Files/EA Games/EP the skin is from/TSData/Res/3D

Supernatural skins (except aliens) are different, though. The eyes are on the face textures, rather than separate eye files, so you'll just have to edit the eyes you want onto your default replacement skin if you have one. If you do not have a default replacement, then you'll have to go into the game files, extract the default face textures and add your new eyes to them.

The rocks in Seasons need fixing. In BV, they instead appear as Rocky Rock and Greta Granite (meaning you cannot combine Seasons and BV rocks), and I know that this was certainly not intentional (but they never bothered fixing it  Roll Eyes).

Numenor has a fix for the rocks included with the CEP.

I'd like Sims to actually Smustle in a room with a stereo. I'm sick of crowds of Smustling sims forming in the bathroom, on the street, at the top of the stairs ect. Sims should actually Smustle near other sims and where the freakin' music is playing from!
Dizzy at The Laden Swallow has a fix for that. He also has similiar fixes for slap dancing and hulaing.

Finally, an Aspiration/memories fix. Ever since FreeTime, I have Romance sims ecstatic at commitment and Fortune and Knowledge sims miserable about it. I have no idea why this is screwed up, but it's something that really needs to be fixed.
Patch Free Time or find the old fix for it at Simbology.

Did I miss something, or do other sims head over and pull food out of other sims' asses inventories now?
My test Sims were also able to access other household members' inventories.
6  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Hack for canceling out of automated prepare food from fridge? on: 2008 August 17, 03:26:47
I've been thinking about trying FEY, but I tend to be wary of change and am already accustomed to using Dizzy's leftover hacks to handle foodly things. For anyone that's tried both, is making the switch worth it?

It depends on your play style. I have several families I play differently. For the "micromanaging" lots where I can make sure that there will always be leftovers for sims that escape my attention, I love Dizzy's hacks. For my more hands-off-ish lots, though, they're pretty much useless, because I never get any leftovers. For these lots, FEY is a lifesaver. Especially for players like me, who loathe face stuffing with a passion.
Hm. I think I'll just have to try it out in my test neighborhood. Thanks for the input. Smiley

Wouldn't making the suicide option autonomous just require a simple change to the Autonomy value in the TTAB?

Sweet Jebus! Shocked That McDonald's kid is horrifying. I feel tempted to download him and marry him to the next Sim that pisses me off.

*mashes sheep button*

This is awesome! I have dozens of deco knickknacks, but I'm usually too lazy to set up OMSPs and actually use any of it unless I'm setting up photo shoots. Now I don't feel bad about having all of it. xD
11  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Update Request on: 2008 July 12, 21:21:24
While the career outfits may not be categorized as formal (I can't remember) I do know you can use the clothing tool to "gank" any outfit a sim is wearing and add it too your sim's clothing inventory so they can use it at any time. Could try that too.

The clothing tool doesn't give me the option to select uniforms as formal attire, however, so sims won't change into them automatically (such as at weddings). Also, I loved that the hack only made the uniform option available to sims in the military career. I have no idea how to do that, and the tutorial doesn't even touch on it.

I appreciate the suggestions though.
I might be missing something, but I don't see the problem. The Sims will still only have the outfits from being in the Military career unless you unlock or clone the outfits and have someone purchase them.

I've opened up the file you attached and it does just look like a simple recategorization. I don't see anything that isn't a Property Set for an outfit and the only things that have been changed are the clothing categories. Although that does bring up the question as to why it doesn't work any longer. Are you certain you aren't experiencing some kind of conflict with another file?

Even if you're only a little comfortable with SimPE, you could probably do it yourself. It's not too hard or threatening.

There's a tutorial on how to recategorize game content here.

I had this happen before. It was from Paladin's custom robots.
14  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Regenerating Catalog Thumbnail. How? on: 2008 July 05, 22:30:46
I've been able to update my thumbnails without debug mode enabled by holding Ctrl and right clicking the thumbnails.

This reminds me of a time where I instructed a teen to macro eat and he got caught in a loop of sticking his food in the microwave and then immediately taking it out and putting it in the dishwasher. After maybe his third attempt, the dishwasher caught on fire. I couldn't stop laughing because I never thought that would happen and it didn't make any sense. Cold macaroni + dishwasher=deadly kitchen fire? o.O
16  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Updating CC for FT on: 2008 June 29, 04:29:13
As you're already going to extract custom BHAVs from PS3 controller, you can probably extract TTAB as well.
Finally had some time to get back to this. Extracting and replacing the TTAB worked. Now my Simmy fanwanks can all have their console of choice, and they won't throw the controllers away anymore. xD

I've put the consoles I updated on my 4shared if anyone wants them.

It doesn't detect the type of bed automagically.
I don't know if it's the same as your problem, but I had a detection problem with one bed just recently. I thought it was odd because all the other beds were detected just fine, even another bed that was exactly the same as the bed I was having problems with. But all the beds that were auto detected normally were ones I had just added. The one that wouldn't auto detect was in the house when my Sims moved in, so I figured that was the problem.

I had just matched the rating with the other bed instead of re-buying it, so I don't know for sure if re-buying would have fixed it. I should have tested it, but I magic wanded the house for them to be able to move in and they barely made it so I wouldn't have been able to buy it back after buying all the other stuff they needed.

The only two things I cannot update by myself are one bar and a console system! Can someone help me with it?
The bar has a lightning line in the CRES and I cannot find the Interaction - Play in the console system!

I couldn't update Life Stories bar. This issue was discussed here.

Sometimes the creator may have forgotten to fix GUIDs in other 2 self-referencing custom BHAVs (Interaction - Dispose - TEST and Interaction - Put Away - TEST), resulting in unusable controllers. Make sure they match the GUID of main system file of custom console as well.
I have a file here that doesn't even have those BHAVS. o.O That must explain why Sims actually throw the controllers in the trashcan instead of putting them away... Is there any way I can fix it? I don't know anything about modding, but I really hate giving up on things after I've started. I want my Sims to be able to use their Gamecube again, damn it. xD

Sims will throw controllers away if the GUID is wrongly assigned in those BHAVs.
You can extract those missing BHAVs from this PS3 from Ogularama.
You'll have to add those missing BHAVs (be sure to adjust Instance number to prevent resource conflict if need be), fix GUIDs, and fix TTAB of controller file to redirect the Dispose and Put Away menu to the newly added custom BHAVs.
I was thinking about extracting the BHAVS from another system but I wasn't sure if it would work or if it was okay to do. I have no experience in these kinds of things. I'm not sure what you're talking about with the TTAB thing but I'm sure I can work it out when I open the file again. Thanks for the help.

21  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Will using the v1.1 crack for Free time.. on: 2008 June 16, 20:36:53
I'm not convinced that the duplicate sim thing is a result of the unholy hybrid.  I've never run a "hybrid" game, but have had duplicate appearances of characters at uni (without having duplicate character files).  It may be a random unrelated glitch.
I'm not running an unholy hybrid either and had a Secret Society member duplicate on a community lot just last night. Kinda freaked me out for a minute because my neighborhood is pretty new and I didn't think I had done any BFBVFS inducing stuff, but I feel much better after reading this.
22  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Daily Gardener and "Walk To" on: 2008 June 13, 06:04:53
I had a gardener not show up just recently. I looked at the Lot Debugger and clicked "fix work state" for every Sim it applied to in the household and then he suddenly pulled up. He was late but that was better than him not showing up at all.
23  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: What's on YOUR Wish List? on: 2008 May 28, 02:32:21
I thought of something I would like to have last night. I suck incredibly at thinking of names for spawnlings, so I was thinking it would be awesome if a random name showed up in the Baby Girl/Boy box, like how Servos spawned from debug mode already have a name attached. That would save me a lot of looking around at everything in my room for five minutes in the hopes that a great name will suddenly come to me. But then I end up with something lame like Steve.

Okay, cool. Thanks for letting me know. Definitely taking the Paladin controller out now.
25  Awesomeware / The Armory / Re: Automated Baby Controller on: 2008 May 25, 23:16:30
At jsalemi: I had, and I think still have, that happen with the table too. I haven't had a toddler recently and I always have a hard time trying to find a place for the table anyway, but it seemed like it always popped up when the table wasn't completely clear of junk. But that wasn't what I was initially going to post about.

Is the controller supposed to be ignoring Servos or is there a conflict in my game? I often have a Servo in my larger families, but it kinda sucks that even if I leave the kid alone with a Servo the controller doesn't call him or her to take care of the baby/toddler. I can still manage manually thanks to that nifty warning pop-up, but I'd like to have the controller do my job for me if possible. xD I do have Paladin's chore controller dealy, so I was thinking maybe it's stopping the BC from calling the Servo if the BC isn't designed to ignore Servos. If is a conflict, then I'll probably ditch Paladin's controller. It's sort of a remnant from before I knew about Macrotastics anyway.
