fallen leaves still on the ground in spring.

That happens in real life, if you don't clean them up.

But yeah, after reading this thread I guess I can safely not bother to acquire this expansion.
2  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Bridgeport redo: where to upload? on: 2012 December 03, 18:50:10
What expansion packs are required? I only have up to Generations. I can get my hands on the newer ones if needed.

Sorry if I was unclear, I was wondering if you could tell us the disk space it takes up, as in the number of megabytes.

Dropbox might be a good place to host it. I can get you a referral if you want one.
3  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Bridgeport redo: where to upload? on: 2012 December 02, 19:25:12
That is beautiful. What's that big palace-looking thing? Versailles? Something clicked in my head and made me wonder if the new Sim City 5 cities are made to be the same size as a TS3 neighborhood map.

Do you have a comprehensive list of your CC to give credit to everyone? How big is the neighborhood folder and the CC folder? I would love to get this on my computer.

Dropbox is generally a good host for smallish distribution, and MATY is, in a word, not very friendly to pay sites.

Those are all great pieces of advice that I didn't know how to use, thank you!
5  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Tantrum Spiral / Critical Mass AI failure / Festival of Self-Destruction on: 2012 June 07, 18:07:50
A bunch of the sims in Bridgeport were hanging out at Bogaard Overlook, that park near the top of the hill by the mansions. I guess one of them starved or something, because the game's AI sucks. So now none of them can leave because they are too busy mourning the dead and needing to piss themselves.

90% of the town is here, standing around in their own filth, and I think at least 20 of them have died now.

I copied the ones I like to the library already, so I don't really care if this hood implodes. But can anyone tell me how to avoid this in the future? I tried using the "Make Everyone Happy" action on the mailbox hoping they would clear off, but apparently that only works on your home lot.

6  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / Facts & Strategery / Re: Neurotics - easist to keep happy? on: 2011 September 27, 18:43:18
Am I the only one who's bothered by the fact that the "Commitment Issues" trait makes sims reject gifts below a certain value? Shouldn't they reject valuable gifts because they're weirded out or scared by commitment?
7  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Generations seems to be killing WA Gameplay on: 2011 September 08, 14:43:29
I like how the ratio of squabbling to on-topic discussion on the MATY forums is about 5 to 1.
8  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / Pudding Factory / Re: I asked Pescado...If I could share The TS3 Prima Guide on: 2009 June 19, 03:25:03
The version in the rapidshare link in the first post is crap.  Which means, it's slightly blurry, which is evident when looking at the quality of the Pyro branding compared to the actual content.  I assumed I finally had glaucoma the first time I read it.

Just pointing the fact out so that we can track down a perfect one, like the torrent in the previous post to mine.  Not many seeders.

Why don't you just go to a store, pick up the book, read some of it, and put it back? From what I've heard about this book, and what I know about Prima guides in general, 5 minutes should be enough to get all the useful information.

Wah wah, the quality of something that someone on the internet took the time to upload for me, and provided to me for free, is slightly reduced!
* lowbart holsters his flamethrower.

I dunno. I'm just going to take a look at it to get a better idea of whether I want to pirate the game after JMP finishes his first TS3 Director's Cut.

The fates of worlds rest on the answer.
10  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: Oops, did I break it? on: 2008 September 25, 07:41:03
Don't delete sims from the Sim Bin? Am I supposed to follow that crazy list of instructions in War Room every time I want someone disappeared?
11  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: What's That Button Do? Or, I Has A Perplexed . . . on: 2008 September 23, 07:22:18
Yeah, me too, I've never seen sims carry around multiple objects before paying. I assumed the Shopping Cart was originally intended for that purpose, but they didn't finish it, so it was vestigial.
12  TS2: Burnination / Peasantry / Re: Short Street - Really Tiny Apartments on: 2008 September 18, 17:21:49
What's a party wall?

Once I get AL I'm going to be uploading some nice scuzzy townhouse lots for your enjoyments.
13  Serious Business / Spore Discussions / Re: Spore Vehicles on: 2008 September 18, 16:30:57
Go to My Documents, there should be a folder there called My Spore Creations. Within that folder are folders like Creatures and Vehicles, those automatically contain the .png files of the (non-Maxoid) things in your game. This is where you get them from if you want to share yours, and where you can put them if you download others. (You can also drag and drop the .pngs into your game, handy if you're not sure whether you're looking at a vehicle or a UFO/spaceship, as these go in different folders.)

Wow, I can't believe I couldn't figure that out for myself. Thank you.  Smiley
14  Serious Business / Spore Discussions / Re: Spore Vehicles on: 2008 September 18, 05:07:27
How does one go about exporting things as PNG from the full game? I got the you-pay-money-for-three-installs version but didn't install the EA updater, so the normal online sharing stuff doesn't work.

Also I'm shocked that Amazon caved with contact from EA. Amazon sales their products, they should be offended that a company sent them a, *probably* intimidating, email asking them to remove the reviews.

Amazon wants more sales to go through their site. If EA goes to them saying "OMG, lots of criminals are fradulently giving our game a bad review to screw with us", it's in Amazon's interest to believe them.
16  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Gameplay: How do YOU keep track of sim lifes? on: 2008 August 25, 18:42:46
What's FCS?

On topic: I don't really keep track of my sims on paper. The ones that need to be sorta synchronized, I just try to remember.
17  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: News Paper Thief in BV win everytime ? on: 2007 September 28, 20:12:49
I hide papers under the foundation, then put the last one (after the paper girl whines) into inventory. No more stupid stealing. I also hide the garbage can away from the kickers and strays. I've never seen someone just randomly kick over trashcans in real life. Bash mailboxes in with a bat, sure.

Someone ran over my mailbox and destroyed my dad's little mailbox garden once. I'm surprised it didn't totally screw up the portals outside my house.
18  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Quick question on lot transplants. on: 2007 September 22, 19:17:32
So, in my half-assed quest to find (mainly by reading this forum) safe ways to transplant lots and families to other neighborhoods without using SimPE, I have come up with two questions:

(1) Is this an acceptable method of moving an occupied lot (in which you don't want to disturb original family, but don't need them to be copied to the destination hood):  Use the "package lot to file" button when selecting the lot in the hood screen (not using the bin), then placing the occupied lot in a test hood that you don't care if it gets screwed up, killing or otherwise removing the sims from the lot, binning the empty lot, and placing it into the destination hood?

Starting hood: Package lot and family without disturbing it
Disposable hood: place occupied lot, burninate occupants (eliminate graves if necessary), bin empty lot
Destination hood: Place empty lot.

Will this be a VBT for either the start or destination neighborhood?

(2) One of my sims has a lot of original paintings and photographs, and I would like to move her to a more cosmically stable hood by using Simsurgery and recreating her with CAS in the new hood. How can I safely move all her artwork to the new (clean) hood? Is this possible?

If it bothers you that much, just ignore the two rules that allow positive points.
20  TS2: Burnination / Planet K 20X6 / Re: More Awful Than You! September: WTF? on: 2007 September 21, 16:07:04
I would say that disgusting Simmerzations would be a cool More Awful Than You except that they look like they should give me nightmares.
21  TS2: Burnination / Planet K 20X6 / Re: Lying Low Challenge on: 2007 September 20, 17:15:17
Only the original rules allow vampires and my version prohibits meditating.

How else do you get infinite points if you're limited to human sims? Can the elixir be used to prolong life indefinitely? I thought it only slowed you down.

If it bothers you that much, just ignore the two rules that allow positive points.
22  TS2: Burnination / Planet K 20X6 / Re: Lying Low Challenge on: 2007 September 19, 00:43:12
I haven't tried it with the Absurd Temperature Fluctuations Expansion, no. I'm doing the Lying Low Email challenge right now and I'm going to have a pretty crappy score but it's not impossible. It's sure easier than the Ethiopian Challenge.

Edit: It often happens that all his scores are maxed out except for Social. But it's really not that hard. The Email thing hardly even makes a difference if there is no weather to be exposed to, except that you can't buy burglar or fire alarms, or the cheap mirror. Laying Low sims are well suited to being Email sims anyway, as the 10 outgoing facilitates bush use.

I guess it would be a lot harder with a female sim, though. Still, it's not much of a challenge if you are allowed to meet people and just take the penalty.

You should be allowed to "utilize" other sims without meeting them (you can't control them through cheats or testing features though).

I think it might be easier if you are allowed to use the Lot Debugger to upgrade them to 6 wants... you'd have better chances of rolling wants that you can satisfy without disqualifying yourself. I didn't do that though because it felt like cheating, personally.

The no walls restriction is almost irrelevant if you can use fences. Managing a laying low + email sim where you couldn't block him off from visitors would be significantly harder. With fences, you can just barricade him completely, or, if you have OFB, just lock the gate.
23  TS2: Burnination / Planet K 20X6 / Re: Lying Low Challenge on: 2007 September 19, 00:09:53
I don't think Necromancy applies to the Challenges forum - the Challenges are designed to be available and commentable on at any time.

With that in mind... I think this challenge is a cool idea. It just needs to be more challenging.

I'm going to try this with Email rules tacked on.

Make an Adult (not YA) in CAS
10 outgoing
Popularity aspiration

Any addition of a Met Person memory: Immediate disqualification.
No walls (Fences are acceptable for repelling wildlife)
No toilet (you may not buy a toilet to satisfy a Want, either)
No cheats (except for fixing bugs)
No money from other lots (including: careers, OFB jobs, community by-the-hour jobs, money orders, any 3rd party mod that allows money transfer). Write Novel is okay but you have to watch carefully so they don't chat. Money trees are okay. Selling paintings is okay. Playing an instrument for tips is okay if you can manage not to meet anyone.
No meditating.
No vampires!
Asp and career rewards are okay if you acquire them legitimately without disqualifying yourself. They must be bought with points if applicable.

Challenge ends when your sim transitions to Elder.

Scoring:
+1 point for every 24 hours in platinum (cumulative, non-contiguous)
+1 point for every $1000 of net worth more than you started with (you may start with less than but not more than 20K)
-7 points for each appearance of Social Bunny
-7 points for each aspiration failure (Therapist incident)
-infinity points for each Met New Sim memory
-infinity points for each bladder failure

Hopefully this will be somewhat more awesome than the previous revisions, and worth resurrecting the thread.
24  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Finishing unfinished Maxis hairdos on: 2007 September 16, 17:40:25
Y'know, I wouldn't be surprised if that's a hairstyle they're going to include in the Teen Style Stuff Pack that's coming out soon. There's a whole surfer theme in that, so it would make sense.

Wow, sounds like something I will NOT be getting.   Grin
25  TS2: Burnination / Peasantry / Re: Default Medieval Townies & Base Game NPC's for all. on: 2007 September 15, 23:55:22
Oh, good. Then you can vote on which theme next. Medieval was just first firing in my brain. I want to do a series of swapable N001's for different themes.

Future? Deliciously tacky neon and chrome clothing would be awesome.
