1  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Fair Labor Price on: 2006 April 13, 16:28:27
Exactly how much is "£30-50" in US dollars.....and this is what I am aiming for "machines sharing a monitor, keybord and mouse and the cabling for that is plug and play"....I already have a network set up with the other computers in the house....2 laptops, a desktop upstairs and my desktop downstairs that will have the new tower added to it....And free is good.....doesn't apply in my case unfortuantely.... Sad.....but the money would be going to a "good cause" so it wouldn't hurt as bad to pay him....even if it's a little on the high side.....but not extremely so......thanks for the feedback.....tgdrysix

$52-88.  The Belkin switch I purchased 2 years ago was £20 ($35).  I have my main server and my partner's machine in a computer cabinet.  As I rarely need to log on to the server I use a switch to conserve space.
2  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Fair Labor Price on: 2006 April 13, 15:53:52
I've been building my own machines for years.  It takes me around an hour to get the hardware setup.  Putting in hard drives cards etc takes minutes however connecting the silly little led lights up can be trial and error due to some motherboard instructions Wink  Personally I help my friends for free but if I was to charge someone I would probably stick to £30-50.  Creating a backup of the current drive isn't a hard thing to do either.  I actually have two machines sharing a monitor, keybord and mouse and the cabling for that is plug and play.  Setting up a home network can be done in a few minutes these days too.
3  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: ofb's stage on: 2006 April 13, 12:17:13
It works intermittently for me plus it takes time for the wallpaper to show.  I end up resting the mouse on the stage for a good few seconds before the wallpaper shows up.

Aussie Topenders have a number of plants and plant pots.
5  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Pollination tech not in family tree improvement or bug? on: 2005 October 16, 19:27:17
It isn't by design as I asked this question in MaxoidTom's thread.  He suggested I submit the details via the official Nightlife feedback form as he wasn't aware of the problem.  I started a thread some time back and you will find it here.
6  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: What is causing my lots to corrupt? on: 2005 October 04, 00:35:29
Can you package them to a file at all?  I'm wondering if it is just an upload problem.  However I have to say, most cases of this nature come about from terrain paint problems.  I remember BlueSoup had the same problem but we couldn't find a way to fix it Sad  Also other problems can occur if you place floor tiles on uneven terrain.

PS Gali I've seen a couple of lots on the exchange that are over 80 Mb!
7  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Abducted with the cheap telescope? on: 2005 October 03, 17:42:33
I've also heard some reports since NL that the Pollination Technician is not showing up as the father of abducted babies anymore, so this may also be a source of the problem.

I've had two alien births since installing Nightlife plus I let Pascal give birth.  With a clean install I can verify the Pollination Technician problem.  I have submitted the details to the Nightlife web form.
8  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: I now have 4 party guests on: 2005 October 03, 17:16:57
Actually that got me thinking...the best dual-core AMD processor is the Athlon X2 dual-core 4800+ and it will run at 2.4 GHz.  An Athlon 64 FX-57 is a single core but has the highest clock speed of 2.8 GHz.  How does the Graphics Rules file cater for AMD processors?  It seems to me that these users are being forced into lower settings when their systems out perform mine Undecided
9  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: I now have 4 party guests on: 2005 October 03, 16:50:51
The pc I have been using is a P4 3GHz and my pc is 18 months old.  The 2.8 Ghz processors first came out mid to late 2002 so it isn't really new technology.  I can understand your anger but at the same time I do think it is reasonable for the latest games to run more efficiently on newer systems.  That said I wish EA could be more honest when it comes to listing minimum system requirements.  The Graphic Rules file seems to be the same for TS2 and Uni however medium has gone from 1.2 GHz to 2.2 GHz and high has changed from 1.8 Ghz to 2.8 Ghz.  I sincerely doubt you can play Nighlife on a 1GHz system with 256 Mb RAM as is stated here.  Even I can't run everything on high without experiencing lag.
10  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Subfolders on: 2005 October 03, 13:35:27
Anything in subfolders works fine for me providing the subfolders are in the Downloads folder.  Clothes and make up will not work in subfolders of the SavedSims folder.  There is no longer a limit on how deep you can go with the subfolders either.  I have skins, hair and other genetics happily in subfolders.
11  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Guess what happens when you deleteAllCharacters in downtown? on: 2005 October 01, 20:34:05
I agree with you also.  I created a new neighbourhood just before Nightlife was released and added Academie Le Tour.  I used "deleteAllCharacters" in the regular neighbourhood and it deleted all characters in the neighbourhood as well as the university campus and both sim bins Sad
12  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Maybe Bella isn't as dead as some of us would like to think. on: 2005 September 26, 00:41:13
I believe I remember MaxoidTom mentioning that some of the sims are now listed incorrectly.  Therefore I guess Bella is no longer an unlinked character meaning that you can now resurrect her with the grim phone.  If I find the post I'm thinking about I'll reference it here Smiley
13  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Missing father from the family tree on: 2005 September 24, 19:33:58
Do the babies show any alien features?
All three children have alien eyes, the non existent nose and a mouth entirely different to Orlando's.  I also posted on the BBS and it would appear I'm not alone.  I added a post to MaxoidTom's "Submit Issues about Nightlife" thread and it is something he hasn't heard of before.

Thanks PattyB, I'm glad somebody else has seen this.
14  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Submit Issues about Nightlife on: 2005 September 24, 13:51:24
I've recently discovered that children born from abduction after installing Nightlife no longer have Pollination Technician listed as their father.  Before I go ahead and fill out the Nightlife form could I check to see if this is a design issue please?  I created a thread here and it would seem I am not alone.
15  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Missing father from the family tree on: 2005 September 24, 00:27:16
I haven't had any aliens born for some time however they used to show two fathers; pollination technician and of course my sim.  Since nightlife I have had one single alien birth plus a set of male alien twins.  The only parent on the family tree for these sims is the sim that gave birth to them.  The sims in question live downtown and I was wondering if anybody else has seen this?

I know some of you will ask so I'll tell you that my game is a fresh install with new neighbourhoods and that the single birth occurred when my game was free of hacks and cc.  Since then I have added in two dresses from the exchange and the hacked toddler mirror from MTS2 Undecided
16  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Nightlife bugs on: 2005 September 23, 20:18:56
I must admit I've only recently started to use the mod.  Previously I wouldn't go near it because it has a function that I strongly disagree with.  However apart from that it does have some useful functions.  I'm surprised the select option is so different compared to Merola's mind control mirror though.

Missdoh I have testingCheatsEnabled in my startup file, have done for months.  In addition I have added a couple of hacks back to my game.  I haven't seen the poker table problem however I haven't used it that extensively yet.
17  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Nightlife bugs on: 2005 September 23, 19:45:35
Hook, I've been using the selector option of the InSIMenator to make NPCs and/or townies selectable.  I generally pause the game, change the status, cancel their queue then make them unselectable.  This works for the headmaster without cancelling the visit Grin

Ahh I see.   The phrase "if you can't beat them, join them" springs to mind.  I adore singing therefore after a while I forget about hating the song and happily sing along Tongue

22  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Second Trimester Of Male pregnancy crashes the game (Nightlife installed) on: 2005 September 20, 19:45:04
Sorry I haven't seen this.  My sim Orlando was abducted after installing Nightlife and is currently in his second bump stage.  He is perfectly fine I'm afraid Undecided
23  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: It's an OT party!!!! on: 2005 September 19, 18:09:52
Urine yes, poo no unfortunately.  They produce small, hard pellets however they do go quite often Grin

I had no idea that guinea pigs growled.  Shocked Wow! You learn something new every day. Since I've never had a guinea pig I didn't realize they have so much personality. Though I've had people say the same thing to me about rats.

Apart from growling he can throw a tantrum very well.  He has set meal times and should you want a few minutes extra in bed you will know about it.  If he decides he wants some extra fresh food and you give him hay, he will kick it all around the cage and make stroppy sounding noises while jumping up and down.  It's very amusing to watch.  He also only likes certain parts of his food mix so he will push the bits he doesn't like out of the bowl with his nose Cheesy

He loves sitting on my lap and having his fur combed.  He is two in a couple of weeks but when he was smaller he used to love sitting on my shoulder.  He would sit there while I fed him slivers of cucumber.  Should anyone touch me he goes berserk.  He has tried biting Peter's fingers before now just for sitting next to me.
25  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Two Abductions in One Night on: 2005 September 19, 14:44:48
Orlando and Posie do not have any other children however she was pregnant.  Maybe I should be thankful that nothing bad happened and just stick to playing with the babies Grin  I can count the abductions I have had on one hand over the past year.  I did have to laugh at having two abductions in the one night.  I bet I never see this again lol.
