TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: THE HORROR: The REAL TS3 Scoop As It Unfolds

The game appears to have a problem with selling a 'house' that isn't.
My hobo Sim was trying to get married to Agnes Crumplebottom. Since his lot is nothing more than a field, designed to keep the game happy, with enough random useless junk on it to remove his starting handout, the obvious choice was to move them into her home.
Game was perfectly happy to let them both move into his field - the tick button unfroze, everything was fine. But if even one of them attempted to move into the Crumplebottom house, let alone both, I got an alert sign up saying that the house had to have enough beds for all Sims (the house I was selling, mind), and the tick button greyed out. To make matters worse, the cancel button also greyed out, leaving me with no choice but to quit the game.
Oh well. All hobos have beds and refrigerators in their fields, right...?
ETA: RELOADED version.

I don't understand why the traits system had to replace the personality system.
Was willing to give it the benefit of the doubt before, but having played the game for a few hours, I really don't get it. There's very little in the two systems that contradicts; the few traits that do (such as hyper-neatness) could have easily been removed. And conflating the two systems would produce far more interesting, diverse Sims than having both separately.
As for the actual gameplay, I'm fed up of my One Fambly already. In theory this game should have been perfect for me - I'm a storyteller, but over the whole neighbourhood, with events causing knock-on effects, etc. In practice, it's tedious and restrictive, and 'the whole neighbourhood' may just as well be 'those two Sims'. Way to go, EA.

Aha! I haven't entered a residential lot since AL came out, so I didn't realise that they were two different objects and assumed that one mutated into the other. Figures that that solution would be too elegant for EA. Thanks.

Has anyone been able to create a secret room using the bookcase? If so, what did you do?
I've tried putting it on one side of the wall, on both sides, going into Live Mode and back, putting an arch between them - but the bookcase just doesn't seem to want to mutate into a secret passageway. Shift-clicking in debug mode only brings up 'Force Error'. EAxis-placed secret doorways work fine, I just can't seem to create my own.

Emma, would it be possible for you to upload Havelock's CS plumbing and appliances to 4shared as well? That link also seems to have stopped working.

Now, do you mean delete all my downloads? Or my whole game?
Oh, it's tempting... Move - do not copy - your Downloads folder to a neutral location, such as the Desktop. Start the game. Your CC will be missing. If it is not, go back and remove any other copies of your Downloads folder that may be lurking inside other game folders. Check that the problem is fixed. Now create a new, clean Downloads folder. Begin the dance of the binaries. Alternatively, just delete your whole Downloads folder and start again.

And unfortunately, you're going to have to weed through everything else in there, too. That adult female's clothes are definitely CC and will be lurking in the Downloads folder, for example. I'd guess that you download off the Exchange a lot? That would also explain how any default replacements crept in. In addition, it means that none of your files will be labelled properly, or, if you've never touched the directory before, properly subfoldered.
Good luck with that.
And dude, get the Clean Installer.

Hand-swallowing is pretty much inevitable with a certain type of skirt - specifically, most period dresses. Not saying that all of these are period dresses, but I'm not sure that it can be held against that child's long skirt, which probably is intended for a period mesh.
On the other hand, the palm-fronds dress is weird, and WTF is with that 'alien' dress?

Do you have an nVidia card, and if so, are your pixel shaders still turned on?
I had a similar problem when I last turned shaders on briefly (to see if my new drivers were having any luck). Even if you don't have an nVidia card, it might be worth putting the line boolProp useshaders false into your userstartup.cheat file and seeing if it makes a difference.

I can't speak for the fairies, but I've just got done on a Strangetown rotation. Nervous:
1. Rolled no wants whatsoever with regards Olive Specter, with whom he has recently been reunited (and by 'recently' I of course mean 'on this very day, on another lot'); 2. Peed himself while standing in a bathroom; 3. Showed a marked preference for the bin over the fridge; 4. Showed a marked preference for Loki's bed over his own.
Specially programmed? Perhaps, but only if he's secretly a nanny.

Well, as long as it's been necro'ed... I don't understand why people find it so weird that the Grunts have no memory of Lyla dying. I know that in-game they should, but realistically - they broke up, she left, they didn't know where she went and haven't heard from her since. Happens all the time. It's actually more realistic, IMO, than, 'This person who I haven't had contact with in years is dead! Waaahh/Wahey! Wait, how do I know that?' And besides, it's providing a nice lot of fodder for my game. Sooner or later, one of the boys is going to see that gravestone... or the ghost... *rubs hands*

Itīs not a real problem than, if I understand you right. It shouldn't be, no. Canīt test now, because the only wish is a new house. If the wish is execute, the others come back. Is this right? As I understand it, yes. Next question, can I upload it on a German faster website without getting trouble from here? I would link here of course too.
Er, do you mean the tutorial, your own merged neighbourhood, or HystericalParoxysm's? I think you mean HP's merged neighbourhood. That's for her to answer. And posting the tutorial is for SaraMK to answer.

Am I alone in this? Can anything be done about this?
I've taken to periodically dragging them back down to 0 in debug mode, unless it makes sense for them to have the hobby (so the Curious brothers are allowed to max Science, for example).

Do you still get the "your sim has lost one millionth of a point of enthusiasm by not doing a hobby-related activity during the past millionth of a second" spam?
Alas, yes.
