Yep. That's what I meant. I should have just said gray, but I digress.

Baaah for the links.  Grin

Is there a hacked burgular alarm that works similar to the one made for TS2? It doesn't have to be the exact same thing, just something that allows friends in while keeping the uninvited out. If so, where can I find it?  If there isn't one, would it be possible to get one?

On a unrelated note, I'm also on the hunt for black and gray tattoos for males that are NOT tribal. I don't have any specific design in mind. If a design is well done and clean looking in game, I'll consider it.

Got it.

Since I'm not allowed to say the dreaded "T" word, baaaah.  Grin
4  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Meet the gardners.. on: 2010 April 06, 15:02:27
Did they all pop out of the same truck? I had this happen the other day. My extra gardener spawn was because the truck was blocked by the afternoon school bus. The game kept spawning trucks until the bus left.

I don't know as I wasn't paying attention.  I was letting the game do its thing as my sim was studying and the next thing I know, the house was full of gardners.

I'll have to watch for the problem you mentioned.
5  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Meet the gardners.. on: 2010 April 06, 00:20:48
So, did all of these gardeners show up on the job at once, or is this just the summation of the gardener NPC's in your hood?  I can't tell exactly what's going on from the pic (other than a garden convention Tongue).

All of them showed up at once. What is pictured is just a few of them. I didn't do a head count, but there were atleast 20 total and all of them took over the frickin' house. They raided the fridge, made a mess in the bathrooms, ect.

Since posting this I've let my game run and it appears that the problem is fixed or it's lurking elsewhere at the moment just to make a liar out of me. Pain in the ass! I can't remember the last time I had a issue with my game and I can't say that I miss it.
6  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Meet the gardners.. on: 2010 April 05, 22:49:38
I don't think I broke my game, but if this belongs there, either move it or stab me with sticks.

Last EP installed -Apartment Life
Hacks- Apartment Life DC

I found some Freetime appliances mixed in with my downloads. I've since removed them but haven't played my game again to see if the removal of the offending appliances were the root of the problem or not.  Assuming is never a good thing, but I'm I on track with thinking that was the problem?   There's no other game issues to report.
7  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: NEWS: WE CAN HAZ LEGAL THREATS? on: 2008 December 20, 04:14:58
Meh! Sorry Pescado.

They have alot of frickin' nerve seeing how EA is being sued for copyright infringment. It's old news, but still... http://www.nothingbutsoftware.com/blog/tag/ea-lawsuit/
8  Serious Business / Spore Discussions / Re: Spore is Review-Bombed, All Thanks to SecuROM on: 2008 September 09, 12:48:07
I've been reading about this mess..and I read some of the comments on Digg-one of which was a full review of it. Scathing, and extremely negative about the game and gameplay.
I even went to the trouble of posting it on Reclaim Your Game (I'm a mod there)-and it doesn't sound very fun.
The Anti-DRM crowd did us all a favor by doing this. I'm not going to naysay them at all. Perhaps EAxis will finally listen to us, because now it's hitting the mainstream press, and they cannot afford to piss off investors. An article ran today in the Financial Times about the debacle, and I'm pretty sure that EA investors read that.
Just because we can crack the damned thing does not make it right that EA is doing this deliberately to their customers. They are the leading DRM propagators, and they have to be called to account for their stupidity.

When the Securom crap started heading downstream with BV, somebody said that it was the stock holders that "made" EA use a different type of anti-piracy software. I've never been able to confirm whether that was fact or fiction and I'm certainly not going to buy EA stock just to find out.  If it was the stockholders,  I hope all of them are walking around with massive bruises on their foreheads due to repeatedly smacking their hollow heads off of a wall.

As far as EA listening, I doubt it.  They made billions of dollars in profits last year, screaming about Spore certainly isn't going to break the bank.  It may make a few EAxis employees twitch in their seats, but EA change for the benefit of peace between them and customers? Not likely.  Then of course there is the issue of them putting out bug infested games that all of us are all to familiar with.  I'm not sure how buggy Spore is, but it's almost guaranteed that patches will muck something up.  It's just EA's way of saying " Ha-Ha! You bought our crap and now we're going to fuck it up!"
9  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Deleting downloaded lots on: 2008 September 05, 11:01:10
Does that delete files entirely or does it just remove them from the bin?  If it only removes them from the bin that isn't going to help much.  I've been having graphics card issues all summer and those files are a prime suspect.  I don't have screen shots, but I'm getting weird streaks going through my hood and when I do have sims loaded, it sounds like they have a stuttering problem. It's not just one household that stutters, all of them do it.  I didn't have these problems before, so it must be bad downloads.

I have up to BV, so I have the BV version of Directors Cut as well as the updated version of Insim. Everything works fine outside of my game. Cd's, DVD's, Photoshop, Windows Media Player, the internet, ect.
10  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Deleting downloaded lots on: 2008 September 05, 01:22:48
How do I get rid of downloaded houses I no longer want from the house bin?  This is not an attempt to wipe out unwanted sims out or move sims from one hood to another. There isn't any sims in my hood right now, but I suspect that there are problems to a few of the houses I downloaded.  Do I delete from the Lot Catalog or the Lots folder for my hood? Both?

I don't think this little piece of info is important, but I do use empty templates.  I really don't feel like going through that process again if I don't have to. If it ends up that I have to, then I will.
11  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: How to get rid of SecuRom, NOW on: 2008 July 20, 16:08:42
I've know this has been discussed, but I need to know for fact rather than hearsay.

After 3 weeks of endless problems with my rig that runs on Vista, I went out and bought a IMac. I have zero regrets making the switch, but when I bought the system I also bought a copy of IWorks, Photoshop Elements 6 and the Sims 2 base game.  I don't have any problems with IWork or Photoshop Elements but I have yet to install Sims 2 due to fear that it will mess with my new system.

I've done searches to see if Securom comes on the Mac version of the base game and have come up empty handed. All I can find is mention of the PC version. Are my concerns just in my head or is there a valid reason for my unwillingness to install it without knowing what I'll be loading into my system? If Securom is on it, will it act like a feral cat locked in a small room or will it behave itself?

I'm still trying to work through the issues on my Vista system. It's been a major pain in the ass with no answers to be found anywhere, but if I can atleast get answers to some of it's problems I can always keep my pixel people on that system and not bother loading it into this one.

12  Serious Business / Spore Discussions / Re: MASSIVE SECURITY HAZARD in Spore! on: 2008 June 25, 16:10:07
ACHTUNG!

As if SecuROM wasn't bad enough, there is also a MASSIVE SECURITY LEAK in Spore: If you EVER share ANY content with ANYONE, be warned that YOUR COMPUTER USERNAME is ENCRYPTED INTO THE CREATURE "IMAGE" FILE. YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO REMOVE THIS INFORMATION BY HEXING! This means that ANYONE who downloads it will know what your username is on your computer.

This represents a MASSIVE security breach because many people (foolishly) encode their real names into their Windoze username. Even if you don't, revealing this username to the world presents a point of vulnerability for attack by hackers. By sharing any Spore content ANYWHERE, you are leaving your computer open to attack and leaving yourself open to stalking and identity theft.

BEWARE!

All ass kissing aside Pes, but after not beiing here for awhile I was rather disappointed to read this. Certainly you must have a a trick or two up your sleeve to bypass this problem?  Not that I was going to buy it, but still.

Silly people still feeding the cash cow. All one is ask is, why?
13  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Bork List: Freetime Ed. on: 2008 February 28, 02:47:12
Given that EA/Maxis screws up everything that it touches, I don't put anything past them at this point...
14  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Bork List: Freetime Ed. on: 2008 February 28, 01:59:58
I don't have FT either, but according to another site that I'm part of, the spontaneous combustion bug from Seasons is back as well. It effects children, teens and adults.

Even though sims are only pixel people, it's rather disturbing to see a toddler sim being burned to death... Angry
15  TS2: Burnination / The War Room / Re: TUTORIAL: Neighborhood Terrain Surgery on: 2008 February 08, 13:16:02
Yes, I'm a sinner that liikes to commit necromancy... Tongue

A unawesome question, but I need it comfirmed that Terrain Surgery can be performed on subhoods? Yes?
16  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Lost my CC, looking for... on: 2008 January 31, 19:11:16
That's a 100 times better than what I had envisioned.  Cheesy
17  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Lost my CC, looking for... on: 2008 January 31, 18:36:28
I have only the styles you've seen in Awesomeland, but each of them is carefully and precisely binned and stripped to the highest available standards of quality. Every last piece of extraneous junk we presently know of has been ripped out. The cleanliness standard is higher than Maxian. Items requested or offered are in here. Feel free to request anything else you've seen. Accept no Kewian-based substitutes!

Butthair?  Do I really want to know or should I just step away from this thread now?  Huh
18  TS2: Burnination / Peasantry / Re: Tutorial: Clean custom neighborhoods and Townie creation (Updated for BV) on: 2008 January 23, 23:32:18
Thanks for clearing that up. I started going through memories after I posted and was wondering what was going on and why.  I'll just delete the clear the gossip as you've mentioned and not give them anymore thought.
19  TS2: Burnination / Peasantry / Re: Tutorial: Clean custom neighborhoods and Townie creation (Updated for BV) on: 2008 January 23, 21:19:52
I created 6 sims in CAS that were converted into townies and now I have 5 "Mystery Sims". The Witch Doctor comes up as a Mr.Potatohead icon with a black background, while the others have a red background with a title of "Unknown".  I found them by clicking on households in Sim PE.

I have all of DC installed & Insim.
20  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Theo's Shack Sim Deleter Tool on: 2008 January 22, 04:11:50
The other option would be to do what I ended up doing which was deleting the one hood I had and installed all clean templates instead.  It probably took me 3 hours too long to get everything done, but my new hood works without any problems so I must have done something right. This of course wouldn't be much of a option for somebody that has many generations in their game that they are attached to, but there was nothing going on in my game that I cannot reproduce.  It was either spend many painful hours with SimPE or start over again and rid my hood of fugly townies without worrying about data being left behind.

Having options is always nice.  Smiley
21  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: What are your PC specs? on: 2008 January 21, 19:03:46

22  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Theo's Shack Sim Deleter Tool on: 2008 January 20, 21:12:15
I had a feeling I was going to be told something along those lines. Oh well, I guess SimPE and I are going to become good friends..

Thanks for the info though.
23  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Theo's Shack Sim Deleter Tool on: 2008 January 20, 16:49:00
I tried to post this in the Sim PE thread, but there was no reply button. I'm gathering I'm not worthy... Cheesy

I saw this posted on another site last night http://theos.chewbakkas.net/tools/sim-deleter-tool.html

It looks simple enough use and it has been suggested that when it's combined with Lot Debugger, it wipes out not only a sim but everything else (i.e- memories) that one sim brings to any given hood.

Any thoughts? Is this good? Bad?

I admit that it's simplicity makes me alittle nervous.  I seem to be overcome with the thought of if it seems too good to be true, it probably is when it comes to this game.
24  TS2: Burnination / Peasantry / Re: Tutorial: Clean custom neighborhoods and Townie creation (Updated for BV) on: 2008 January 13, 16:50:38
Thanks

Berney- Just a suggestion. You may want to change the location of where Nodormieregen can be found.
25  TS2: Burnination / Peasantry / Re: Tutorial: Clean custom neighborhoods and Townie creation (Updated for BV) on: 2008 January 13, 16:24:56
At the risk of being burned at the stake, I have all mods that are suggested except for No dormie regen.  I've searched FFS mulitple times and can't find it. Either I'm blind or it's hidden somewhere else?
