1  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Has anyone considered converting ts3 objects for ts2? on: 2009 June 27, 04:23:43
So i can't have that modern looking bookcase in my TS2 game then? pity...
2  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Has anyone considered converting ts3 objects for ts2? on: 2009 June 25, 23:50:21
lol, er... what exactly does that mean?

obviously my brain has been replaced by snot this week.
3  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Has anyone considered converting ts3 objects for ts2? on: 2009 June 25, 02:03:04
Because TS3 has fallen short of awesome in my opinion, i think i'll be sticking with TS2 for the moment.

That being said however, i never turn up my nose at the opportunity for moar objects, and so was wondering if anyone had considered the possibility of converting some of the more basic ts3 objects (tables, bookcases, maybe bathtubs (?) etc) into ts2 objects? Does anyone have any idea if this would be a horrendously difficult process?
4  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Zepto notebooks on: 2008 August 09, 00:41:48
Heh, the apartment i'm about to move into has midget sized bedrooms (literally space for a bed only) and the communal space is not really an ideal spot for a desk/computer when you share with 3 other people.

Thanks for the advice Annan, i guess i'll re-think my options before rushing out to buy a laptop.
5  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Zepto notebooks on: 2008 August 08, 09:41:16
I know notebooks are hardly ideal for gaming, but buying a laptop is the most convenient solution to a string of problems right now including finding the space to put a hulking great desktop unit.

If you wouldn't buy a zepto Annan (or anyone else), what else would you consider?
6  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Zepto notebooks on: 2008 August 07, 09:42:18
Does anyone have any comments on zepto notebooks, more specifically the Mythos/Nox A15's, and their ability to handle sims 2? I've never met anyone with a zepto computer, does anyone have any first hand experience/horror stories with these machines?
Link: http://au.zepto.com/Shop/Notebooks.aspx

Any other advice on notebooks that can handle the sims 2 would be welcome also...

7  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / BV clothes without the gay backpacks? on: 2008 April 11, 02:43:51
G'day all,

I was just wondering if anyone had attempted to make the BV outfits minus the backpacks? Some of them aren't too hideous, but i just refuse to have my sims wandering around wearing backpacks that pass through the backs of chairs/beds etc...

I tried a google search for "BV clothes without gay backpacks" but suprisingly got no results   Roll Eyes

10  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Can't see pond fish in BV - advice on updating drivers? on: 2007 October 26, 04:42:15
G'day all,
I noticed this morning when i installed BV that i can no longer see fish in the ponds, no matter how deep/wide and on lots that i could definitely see fish on before installing. I haven't updated my video drivers in probably 12 months so wondering if people thought this would be the way to go? Way back in FFS days i had a HUUUGE issue with video driver updates so i'm reluctant to just jump in off the deep end and screw over my entire system unless someone elsed thinks this is a good idea  Grin .
I have a Radeon from the X1600 series, can't remember which at the moment...

Cheers,
Winklesim.

Mornin' all,

Does anybody know of a tool to modify sim memories that is working with Seasons at the moment? Having a few issues......  Roll Eyes

14  TS2: Burnination / Peasantry / Re: Updating GunMod's Radiance Lighting System on: 2006 June 29, 03:08:44
just downloaded this and thought I would add my two cents to the conversation,

1: evening - this is the time of day I have the biggest issues with. Perhaps it would be easier to play if the light was less 'fluro orange' and more 'gentle pink' or something. I would prefer if this evening colour wash was not quite so strong so you could still see the original colours of walls/floors/furniture/lights coming through. Perhaps another idea would be to change the time of the 'evening' to begin at 7 o'clock, so it coincides with the auto turn on of the house lights. No idea if this is possible, but I thouht i'd mention it anyway.

2: window light - how about making light from windows diffuse further into the room so their aren't so many really dark spots, especially in large or oddly shaped rooms?

Anyway, just a few ideas, but all up it looks great!   Wink
15  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Maxis cars as driveable NL cars - super hard?? on: 2006 June 29, 02:58:20
I would think it must be easier to use existing vehicles than to make new ones, so why hasn't anyone?

Exactly! Now I can do no more than basic recolours and play round in simpe so I have very little idea of whats involved in making cars, lol, but i would have thought it would be MUCH easier to use what maxis has already provided rather than creating an entirely new mesh. Which brings us back to the purpose of this post, does anyone know of a reason why this would be SO hard that it causes people to go off making their own meshes instead?
16  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Maxis cars as driveable NL cars - super hard?? on: 2006 June 28, 23:38:35
O yar, thats kinda cool. That Fresh Prince guy is certainly churning out the cars, have you checked how many he has on his page!!   Shocked
17  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Maxis cars as driveable NL cars - super hard?? on: 2006 June 28, 05:18:50
Hiya everyone, just a quick question today,

How hard is it to convert maxis premade cars to be driveable, ownable NL ones? The one I was thinking of in particular was that wincy little red sports car in the athletic career track (I think Daniel pleasant has it as his initial carpool). I'm assuming that all the neccessary animations for getting in/out are already somewhere in the game as are the graphics for the actual car but I'd be interested if anyone has any idea how hard this whole process would be. Cheers
18  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Building/Upgrading a PC for TS2 - Update, 15 June on: 2006 June 19, 08:13:05
Righty-o then, I shall just ignore processor speed from now on. Cheesy   Thanks for the reply JM.
19  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Building/Upgrading a PC for TS2 - Update, 15 June on: 2006 June 18, 00:08:39
Geez I'm confused!  Roll Eyes  I have a computer with an intel pentium 4 3.00ghz processor which my little brother is due to inherit some time soon so I can buy a new one. Now I've managed to figure out what I need in the way of graphics cards and memory etc, but I am completely lost on the whole cpu thing when comparing Intel and AMD. I want a processor that is at least as good as the one I am handing off, better would be preferable, but I'm going with AMD this time around. When I was having a play around on the alienware site all the AMD's seem to have speeds slower than 3.00ghz.

Example: An 'AMD Athlon™ 64 X2 5000+ Processor w/ HyperTransport and Dual Core Technology' has a listed processor speed of 2.6ghz. wtf?

I must be missing some crucial point here (lol) but basically, if I was looking at getting a processor that is better than the one I have at the moment, what would be the starting point in the AMD line up?

oh wow! Thanks, it's all better now  Grin
21  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Painting recolours not showing anymore on: 2006 April 29, 01:58:01
hello all!  Grin

I was cleaning and sorting my downloads folder a few days ago and ended up moving a few files around and placing them in different sub-folders. Somehow while doing this I managed to screw up the recolours for a few paintings so that they were no longer showing up. So I deleted the files from my downloads folder and downloaded them again. Unfortunately they just didn't show up. So I deleted every painting mesh and recolour I had and started to download them again and now I don't seem to be able to download a recolour for any painting in the game, even those that didn't have recolours before! New meshes show up just fine, it just seems to be painting recolours. Does anyone have any idea wtf is going on?
22  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: SimPE 0.58 is out. on: 2006 April 23, 02:02:39
The automatic "fix memory" option as it was in the plugin is not supported, I believe.

D'oh! I really should have checked this out before moving a family in from a new neighbourhood. Exactly how bad will it get if I just plonk them in the neighbiourhood anyway, despite the fact that most of their memories are 'met subject' etc?
23  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: SimPE 0.58 is out. on: 2006 April 23, 00:47:54
has anyone managed to use the memory functions with the new simpe yet? I was quite successfully using the 'fix memories' button in the old 0.54 version but when I downloaded this new one i can't seem to even find the button anymore. I think i'm a bit lost, so if anyone has used the 'fix memories' tool with this version could they tell me if I'm supposed to have done something special to make it work again.
 thankyou   Grin
24  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Change Neighborhoods? on: 2006 February 15, 22:15:54
thanks alot everyone!  Grin
and no nectere, I don't have the newest patch ...
25  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Change Neighborhoods? on: 2006 February 15, 12:05:51
hey everyone,

sleepycat, I just went through the steps you suggested but somewhere along the line something has happened so that only the house is showing up in my game, not the family. When I run the lot through clean installer the character names are there and i check then etc, but it just wont show up in my game. Have I done something stupid that is fixable or have I screwed up majorly and lost the whole family Roll Eyes ?

Any suggestions would be great.
