1  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Robot can't order omni seed? on: 2011 October 09, 19:30:18
It has been broken for a while.  There's a work-around posted on the exchange.  You have to access the mailbox to order seeds, pause the game when near the mailbox, cancel the order, then resume the game and the order will be placed.
2  TS2: Burnination / Planet K 20X6 / Re: EAxis House of Phail: October 2009 on: 2009 October 11, 14:27:15
Ilikecoffee: Such sweet colours, I love them, and a great idea to make a row house. It looks charming, but does it fill the lot completely? I don't play TS3 but maybe I should give it a go.  Cheesy

There is enough room left over behind the houses for small backyards.  I used one of the 20x30 lots with the building facing toward the longer side.

Ilikecoffee: Ilikeyourhouse  Cheesy Though you stole my idea, I suppose it wasn't creative anyway since the lot is called "European Townhouse." Not that I'm knocking your house, I mean. Very cute colors, totally getting a painted ladies vibe but now I don't know how I'll redesign the lot now. I suppose I could make a TS2 version as actual apartments.

I'll need to put red lights out front before I can move in the painted ladies, but we'll leave the light on for you.

Why not make more row houses?  It's not like I did anything more than slap the building down and build two more just like it; I'm sure you can come up with something much better.

Thank you both for your kind words, and since I completely neglected to comment earlier, I adore the interior decoration in Minena's home.

Sims 3 Version:  Easter Egg Row Houses

20x30 lot contains three full houses with minimal decoration.  Works great as a place to stash extra small families, couples, and extra sims.
3 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, 3 livingrooms, 3 kitchens.  3 cribs included to enable procreation when using the AwesomeMod story engine.
Furnished:  $74,808.  Unfurnished:  $56,963.

4  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: I want my own CC vacation hoods .... on: 2008 February 08, 08:28:53
This works for me:

Asian and Island secret lots should start off community.  Mountain secret lot is residential.
Build your lot.  Save your lot.
Exit to neighborhood and package a copy of the lot in case the lot isn't right on testing.
Return to the lot, change the zoning to secret, and exit lot.
You can't save the lot once you change it to the secret lot.
Test the lot.

I've been using one of my secret lots almost as long as I've had BV.  It's my version of the asian village lot, it started out as community, and I've had no problems with it.

Windkeeper made the ducks and swans.  Should be under her stuff.

Okay, interior images are up.
7  TS2: Burnination / Building Contest of Awesomeness / Ilikecoffee's MATY commune on: 2007 June 03, 02:15:31
Just a little something for the MATY sims should they ever outgrow the bunker and need a base of operations for world domination.  The fully furnished MATY commune includes:  5x5 lot, one bedroom (eight beds), one bathroom (community toilets and showers), gym, communal kitchen, rec room, guard house, garage, airport runway, control tower, and helicopter pad.  Cost:  $281,164.

Decoration is minimal; art causes distraction from the goal at hand.  The same paints, floor tiles, and colors are used throughout for an institutional feel.

Bribery:  I will update and donate the community military base (built for the Apocalypse Challenge) that I based this lot on.  I can, if necessary, donate my self-sim for torture and mutilation.

ETA:  I have all eps

ETA2:  Additional images are to be found here:  images

ETA3:  Bribe here:  Apocalypse Military Base, a community lot with food, fun, and pain.  I decided not to wait for the scoring - my residential lot is not built by awesome standards and will fail.

8  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Serving up Servo on: 2006 March 17, 18:24:01
I've only created three servos.  Of the two that have been initialized, neither had any badges.  I thought someone from Maxis had posted in a chat that all servos would have gold badges in robotics.  It would make sense, I don't make any of my electronic possessions practice to gain abilities they should already have.
9  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Should Brynne Live or Die? on: 2006 March 15, 07:30:51
Voted earlier for immediate release, but now I'm feeling this overwhelming urge to be Brynne Grin
10  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Is it just me or is chat failing all the time since OFB? on: 2006 March 10, 10:46:27
If it helps . . . the only successful low relationship chat I've noticed since installing OFB has been between two sims with two lightning bolts.  All other chat interactions ended with the "la, la, la, hands over the ears" response if the relationship was less than 20.
11  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Toddlers are allowed to date? on: 2006 January 10, 16:23:53
Was the toddler the father's only friend, apart from the sim he had the date with?  When you get one of these "My friend had such a great time with you, I wondered if ..." calls, the person who rings is always a friend of the other party on the date.

It's funny that you mention it. The one time this happened to me, a guy had gone out on a date with the college floozy and "scored" on their first date. Right afterwards, his toddler son called up and said "you had such a good time....." I thought wow! this kid is starting out young and what a reputation this girl has!  Cheesy  I believe the toddler was the only "friend" of the date - he had lots of aquaintances, but being a single dad didn't leave him too much time for socializing (outside of taking out the college floozy, that is).  Cheesy

Actually, the toddler wasn't the only friend of the guy.  His wife has a higher relationshipscore with him.  I'm envisioning that outing call . . . "Please come downtown with me.  We need to discuss your activities with my husband."

Now that I've thought about it, I'm glad the toddler called.

I still haven't recreated the glitch where they had no options to go anywhere.  I thought it was part of the toddler not being able to leave the lot.

I SHOULD start a Chav Challenge game
A single female sim should have at least five kids by different fathers without ever having a job
She has to bring up her offspring by herself but she must stay unemployed and unmarried

This is found under the thread "Bloody Build mode, It is out to get me".  I'm on my second child (this infant is the stepbrother of the toddler who called).

I haven't done an outing since I got the game and I completely forgot they existed.  That interaction makes much more sense now.

Edited to fix stupid internet explorer error.
13  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Toddlers are allowed to date? on: 2006 January 09, 18:50:50
I've been screwing around with the Chav challenge by Avie.  Very entertaining by the way.  The mother of the family receives a call from a toddler inviting her on a date to downtown as his father had such a great time with her on their date.  Just to see what would happen - if she could actually go on the date or if the game would explode - I clicked yes.  The options for the date location popped up with no options available so I canceled the screen.  Several hours later a popup chided the sim for standing up the toddler.

Has this happened to anyone?  Is this the begining of the end for this neighborhood?
14  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Animated custom hair on: 2006 January 04, 22:50:13
This hair (also from a paysite) is the hair I use most often.  It shows up as custom only, although some of the later hair styles on this site are in the correct color bin.

I've been looking for that ponytail mesh for awhile, thanks for the link.
15  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Homes? Where do you download them? on: 2005 December 10, 16:34:38
It is free, you just have to register.  The free area usually has a line for downloads and you have to wait your turn.  It doesn't take very long.  The paid subscription - which I don't have - is supposed to allow you to download without waiting.
16  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Uploading vanilla houses? on: 2005 December 09, 12:56:00
What about creating another user for the computer in the control panel area?  The new user area will have a clean (no hacks, no custom content) game.  Someone on MTS2 suggested it so that a child could play the game without the adult user's hacks and custom content.  I do this for the houses I upload.  I thought it was easier than yanking out the download folder, the collection folder, and the camera folder every time I felt the urge to just build.
17  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: new Hood Snow terrain on: 2005 November 27, 20:25:51
Thanks for this.  I went to MTS2 prior to coming here today specifically looking for snow terrains for the neighborhood.  It looks great.  I love it when someone anticipates my needs.
18  Awesomeware / The Armory / Re: Front Door Hack v2.0 on: 2005 November 17, 18:17:58
I haven't had any difficulty with this hack.  Tested it with a date and the flowers were left at the front door.  I've had it running for seven days sim time.
19  TS2: Burnination / Peasantry / Re: Underground Parking Tutorial Beta on: 2005 November 16, 04:23:48
I didn't see any driving animation from the bunker to the street.  The car was in the bunker - then the car was in the street.  Kind of like a stealth mobile.
20  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: The NL Patch on: 2005 November 16, 01:15:28
Important after the patch that you remake your "objects.package" file a read-only again since the patch does not make it that way and they did not resolve the Mrs. Crumplebottom getting bitten with it.
That will teach me to read everything.  I had assumed that since this was the biggest problem with Nightlife that the patch would fix it.  I just went back and read the list and you are absolutely correct.  Thank you.
21  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Request....Motoki? on: 2005 November 16, 01:06:39
I agree, I hate squares of flowers.  Landscaping would look far more realistic if mixtures of plants could be done.
22  TS2: Burnination / Peasantry / Re: Underground Parking Tutorial Beta on: 2005 November 15, 23:06:10
This works great.  Drove (teleported) the car in and out several times without any problems.  It makes the bunker look more bunkerish
23  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: phone hack on: 2005 November 12, 16:52:14
While I haven't tested any ring settings other than "off", I haven't had any problems.  By the way, thank you Gali for posting in the phone hack thread that you were able to successfully use it.  This is the one hack I won't play without.
