TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Autonomous Dancing Issue

That's perfect! I usually stick a tiny radio in the basement or attic of my Sims houses for those rare times when I want them to earn the dancing scholarship. If they restrict the dancing to those areas I think I can stand to play my Legacy family for more than 20 minutes at a time!
I know we aren't supposed to thank around here, but I'm chronically polite, so...Thanks!

TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Autonomous Dancing Issue

If I don't keep my Sims 100% busy all the time, then they don't do ANYTHING other than the Child/Parent Dancing on Toes. This goes on constantly, they ignore the PC, the TV, everything that should be a whole heck of a lot more interesting than dancing on each other's feet. I nearly had a child taken by the Social worker from missing her first day of school, because her father had to wake up and go dance with her all morning and then wouldn't cut off when the bus came! Luckily he was a family sim and I had worked the Lifetime benefits up so he could beg to keep his kids. Sorry - end rant- on to my question:
Has anyone made a mod to make this action less attractive or to cut it completely. I don't mind if it happens a little bit, it's good for raising social fast, but so is Red Hands and that's quieter!

Thanks Gwill and Hegelian! The SimPE way does look easier, but I also want to learn more about BCON and OBJD and how they work. I'm mostly just a recolorer right now and all self taught, but I want to learn to Mesh and Hack, cause it seems fun! The Grand Trianon Set is one of the ones I want to make more fair for personal use in my Legacy! It's tempting to just use them but I'm really trying to play it by the strict rules. I had gotten so lazy about playing my game and using cheats that I needed to try things the hard way for a while. Normally and in my ordinary Sim houses there are lots of "Cheaty Things" !

TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Changing Comfort and Energy settings?

Could anyone tell me, or point me to a tutorial that can show me, how to change the Comfort, Energy, Environment settings on a piece of furniture? and/or change the price of the item? I have found some really nice beds and a few chairs that I like the look of, but the settings have been enhanced on them to make them the highest level of comfort, energy and environment while at the same time making it one of the cheapest priced pieces of furniture in it's category. I don't mind in my normal Sim houses, but if I'm playing a challenge of some sort I can't use them. I guess I'm too honest for my own good! It would be nice to be able to change the stats on those items back to where it's supposed to be for it's price level.

How do you play? Please include details such as:
Are you more into building lots, decorating lots, creating sims, or playing families?
I think I pretty much play families and build lots equally. I'm really a big sucker for challenges!
Lots: do you play highly decorated, with walls up/cutaway, with a focus on 'whoever has the most toys wins"? Or do you play barely decorated, walls down, with a focus on interractions/spawning?
I play mostly medium sized lots, moderately decorated. I like my Sims to have a nice environment, but I don't like to clutter the lot up with too much stuff. I like the cut-out wall, dollhouse style and try to just let my Sims live their lives, usually according to the rules of whatever challenge I happen to be playing at the moment.
is genetics your thing? Do you like watching spawns, and spawns of spawns for how they turn out? Or do you barely get through one generation before you're off to the next family?
I do enjoy playing with genetics. I am in the 6th generation of a Legacy right now and there have been a few genetic surprises. Of course this is the first time I have played a single family for so long.
Do you build lots of hoods, or have you been playing one or two hoods forever?
I have 5 neighborhoods, 3 of them custom. One is my short challenge hood, One is my story telling hood, and the other is my Legacy hood which started as an apocalypse.
In terms of what your sims do: are you into relationships and interractions, or are you more into how they skill and climb the corporate ladders?
I try to balance as much as possible. Of course it depends on their aspirations and I randomly generate all aspirations in my game regardless of challenge or free play.
Do you play lots of community lots, or are your sims homebodies?
My Sims have a tendency to be a lot like me and are very much homebodies!
City/country/suburban?
Country with some suburban, basically just like where I am in RL. I live in a farming community at the edge of a larger suburban area.
Do you do themes? (aliens, medieval, Victorian)
I don't think I have any set theme. My building and decorating style is very country and shabby chic.
Do you play with pets?
I don't play with pets too much because of lot lag. I have started to play with them more.
Do you do the vamp/werewolf/alien/zombie thing, or are you more a 'real person' player?
I play with the real people for the most part, though the odd alien, vamp and more recently plantsim are a refreshing change. Hacks: do you like to make life simpler or harder? insim? inteen?
I have the director's cut for Seasons, plus a small number of random hacks from other places. Most of them are annoyance fixes, a few make things harder. I do use InSim mostly in storytelling situations.
Custom content: lots or a little? what do you have the most of?
I have tons of CC. Mostly for the body, clothing, accessories and hair. Some of it is my own.
And finally, if you share your creations...what do you create?
I do share my creations, I recolor just about anything. I don't mesh yet, but I'm trying to learn. I am a Featured Artist on the Spiffy Sims Forum, so that is where my recolors can be downloaded.

TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: Glitched Pet Graves!

Well the only hack conflict (of the 6 that popped up on the detector) that could be causing the problem is a non-Maty hacked sign to eliminate strays from the lot that it's displayed on. I have only used it on one lot, ever. But I guess it just being in the game was enough to cause issues with a Buy-able version of that Pet Controller Bird that you can normally Spawn in Debug Mode. Of course I haven't killed off any Pets in my game yet to test it, but that was the only Pet related conflict. I will certainly be back if the problem hasn't been fixed by the removal of both conflicting hacks. Hopefully though, this will be the end of it! Thanks very much to all who have helped this morning!

TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Glitched Pet Graves!

It seems I can't keep pet graves on any lot in my game. It doesn't seem to matter which neighborhood either. Pets in general lag my lots, but I'm trying to play the Family Breed points in my Legacy and it doesn't seem right to give away or sell the elderly pets so they don't die and cause a glitched grave.
The specific problem I have with pet graves starts a couple of Sim hours after I have a Pet die. The game will just freeze. I did the testing cheats to see if I could get an error message and I got one, but it didn't make any sense to me. It did refer to the dead pet and when I hit reset, it just popped up again. When I hit Delete the pet grave was deleted. I did the same test on 2 different lots in all of my neighborhoods. Same reaction. I have all the Maxis hoods except for Veronaville and 3 custom hoods, one of them being my Apo Legacy hood. The only hacks I had in my game at the time of testing was the Seasons - Directors cut from here.
