i was wondering if there was a master list somewhere of all the NPCs, townie numbers, downtownie numbers, ect. for the expansions... For the NPCs, are you looking for the type codes that you see on the "other" tab in SimPE - like 0x0009 for the cop and so on? I went looking for a list of those a few months back and only found up thru Pets so I tried to make an updated one. It's long though (and probably incomplete), so I wanted to see if that was even what you were looking for before posting it. No idea on the downtownie and townie numbers though, never looked into those.

TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Recategorising hair with SimPE

Recategorizing hair is the ONLY thing I don't do in SimPE, because there's too much little stuff to remember. I use Datgen because it does almost all of it for you. (Except putting it into the right families - that's broken in the release I downloaded, so I do just that part in Simpe. It's a somewhat optional step anyway.) If you need a walkthrough of how to do it in Datgen, I'd be happy to help. Datgen is available from http://www.datgen.info/default.aspx . As for telling which hair color is which, this is made more difficult when creators only change the style for one or two age groups. For example, let's say they clone a black hair style, then recolor the adult and teen hair to be burgandy. In this file you'd have at least five textures: black toddler texture, a black child texture, a burgandy teen texture, a burgandy adult texture, and a grey elder texture. It gets confusing fast. What I would recommend doing (at least in the beginning) would be to recategorize one complete hairstyle at a time, all four colors. Doing it in a batch should make it easier to tell which color is supposed to be which, and you can move on to your single hairstyles once you get the hang of it. I'm sure some of the resident geniuses (genii?) will be along with more info - just didn't want you to think you were being ignored.

Here is what I have received so far:
Twiki sent 8 townies with a backstory Just to let you know, there should have been two lots in the zip - the random townies (no real backstory), and a family in the house (which is what all the babbling was about). If you didn't get the lot with the Jenkins family, let me know and I will resend - they're the ones I've been working on for the past two weeks.

In BBCode, it would be (url=http:YOURLINKHERE) text you want to see (/url) - only replace the () with []. Example: [url=http://www.moreawesomethanyou.com/smf/index.php]MATY.[/URL] would display as MATY.All this and more is explained here.

Any tips for good horrible dates (not just poke/insult/slap over and over)?
Ask the matchmaker for a blind date while you're already on a date. Instant bad date, guaranteed bag o' poo. You seem to be able to repeat it indefinitely until the Matchmaker wanders off the lot.

He doesn't show up in your relationships panel at all - he's like the social bunny, except everybody can see him at the same time, and he's got less social interactions. I think you can chat to him and hug him and that's it. There's a third pie menu option, but I forget what it is.
The first time Skinny Santa interacted with each member in my test household, they suddenly became Best Friends. Nothing in the relationship panel, just the spinning bauble atop their heads. I just checked in SimPe for invisible memories, and it turns out there are some not-so-invisible ones - "Met Unknown","Made Best Friends with Unknown", "Had Two Best Friends", an invisible for the other person in house doing the same. I don't know if it's Unknown because SimPe doesn't recognize it or Unknown because Santa is inherently glitchy, but it's making me a little antsy. Edit: And I just checked in Body Shop, and it doesn't recognize the new toddler Formal slot. Do I just have a FUBAR install, or was that overlooked?

I'm a bit unimpressed by it. The little dancing snowman thing seems to be bugged - I had one person turn it on, then another decided to turn it on autonomously, so I had two loud obnoxious Christmas songs playing at the same time from the same Snowman. One ended when I had someone turn it off, but the other kept on playing AFTER I sold the dang thing! Also had the same experience as SaraMK with the Christmas tree spontaneously combusting. Santa thought it was the funniest thing ever - he laughed at it, shat out a teddy bear, and laughed some more. I'm not entirely convinced he didn't set the silly thing on fire. . (Click to enlarge) And what has Santa been drinking that requires him to "drain the reindeer" three times in a row? Did he get a UTI for Christmas? I do rather like the new carpets, though. I'm off to try the New Year's party - an exploding elder should be entertaining.

Should townies be put on a lot to send, have skills, jobs and/or relationships with each other or just sent as is? (cloned with SimPe and packaged in Body Shop or on an empty lot?)
You can send the sims either way - just let me know in the email. Along the same lines - if we're sharing a family AND a house envisioned for the family, is it alright to send the family in the house or should they be seperated? Just double-checking here..

Here's another interested person. I mostly play with historical neighborhoods, so any lot I contribute would probably be a little old-fashioned, if that's acceptable. How about a poor farmer and his large family crammed into an aging farmhouse? If nothing else, you could use the kids as breeding stock or faux townies. (I've been lurking here since the Big Move from VS, and haven't posted til now - that's how inspiring this thread is. )
