A little warning, these mods' installers will overwrite your Resource.cfg with the below version. If you have one with additional folders or special priorities setup, do not use it. "Install" in a temp folder instead and move the packages to your Mods folder.

Would setting resource.cfg to read-only work as well?

I like this because I'm an environmental freak and black light uses less energy than white. Which would mean that more black than white would be saving energy.
That's not necessarily true: http://www.scientificamerican.com/article.cfm?id=fact-or-fiction-black-is

Interesting. How does the algorithm work for an unemployed sim?
From monitoring the habits of the unemployed, their schedules are completely whacked out and acyclic, much like real life.
That does make sense. I was annoyed that my unemployed sim wanted to get a good day's sleep before starting on her painting and I thought it would be more productive to go ahead and paint until she got tired, but I guess it all evens out in the end. The machine is smarter than I am.

Actually, the calculation for energy is special. What it's doing is that it is determining the sims's "Wake Up Time", then sending them to sleep at the point where Expected Recharge Time intersects "Time To WakeUp", which should result in the Fully Rested moodlet at full power right before work. The machine is smarter than you are.

5  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Re the "ListHomeless" command - one sim in my household listed as homeless on: 2009 July 09, 20:32:21
The homeless sim is a clone of the one in your household. The game tends to pull sims out of the library and plop them into your town regardless of whether those sims already exist. Here are a couple of threads discussing the phenomenon:

If this is the case, then why does SupCom have them fill motives when they're half-full? If I remember correctly, it a problem in TS2 when that happened; why is it suddenly a problem now?
Because I like to be proactive and anticipate and counter problems before they actually occur, and therefore, my AI reflects this.
This gets annoying when I activate SupCom on a sim to have it perform some task and it decides that it would rather sleep for the rest of the afternoon instead of doing anything productive. Perhaps your AI could treat the energy motive differently than the others since it takes so much longer to drain and refill, and a 40% full energy bar is not something that needs to be attended to immediately at 4pm?

This sounds very much like a Stephen Segal movie.

(Sorry about the necro)
Thanks, Drakron! I know everyone here has been spending the last seven months on pins and needles wondering which Steven Segal movie Gwill might have been thinking of. You have put everyone's mind at ease.

Pets DC with about a dozen hacks disabled. List is attached.

There's a thread discussing how one should go about installing a new expansion pack here:

That file hadn't been modified since 9/14, and it was set to read-only for some reason. Huh. I wonder how that happened. I've made it writable again, and it's updating properly. Thanks, seelindarun. I feel dumb now.
12  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Downloading MATYville Full Version on: 2007 October 07, 09:05:09
Any registered user can access the self-sims; Pescado only prevents newbies from posting their self-sims.
There are loopholes to that restriction, apparently.
13  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: Lot loading screens not updating on: 2007 October 07, 00:09:24
I've done both of those. I've also deleted my groups.cache file and my neighborhoodmanager.package file, and enabled testing cheats to see if some error was getting generated. No dice. I've put up some photos to better illustrate the problem:

[link expired - problem solved]

I had another idea, though. This is the default Pleasantview neighborhood that I've been playing since day one, but I did recently move it from the N001 spot to N002 so I could put the merged neighborhoods in as N001. Could that have had this effect?

All of their heads show up there, yes.
15  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: Lot loading screens not updating on: 2007 October 06, 04:12:05
That didn't work. I've even recruited a fifth member from the Dormie pool to live at the sorority lot and I've changed the everyday outfits of three of the five lot residents, and the loading screen still only shows the original three.
16  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: Lot loading screens not updating on: 2007 October 05, 21:31:06
She is a member. I had her invite several members of the house to a party at the dorm and befriend them, and she was accepted into the house immediately upon asking to join. The next time I played the dorm lot, I clicked on her and selected "Move to Greek house," and she moved to the house normally. The loading screens for both the sorority lot and the dorm lot haven't updated, though I've loaded, played, and saved both lots a couple of times since.
17  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Lot loading screens not updating - solved. on: 2007 October 05, 19:31:40
I moved one of my sims out from the dorm lot she was living at to the sorority lot and have played both lots since then, but she is still present on the dorm lot's loading screen and is absent from the sorority lot's. It doesn't interfere with gameplay, but it is a little odd and annoying. What would cause those screens to stop updating, and is there any way to force an update? I have all EPs up to Pets and my hacks are mostly awesome (+ InSIM).

The image isn't showing. Not that I want to hurt my eyes in any way...

Images from insim won't show if you're not registered and logged in there.
I've edited the original post. It should work now.

I think AV software is overrated anyway. I've been running without it for years and haven't had a problem.

Novelty contacts perhaps, or, given the scar, they could be glass eyes.
24  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: You've already met aliens, Vidcund. on: 2007 August 30, 06:03:46
You'd think inviting Pollination Tech #9 Smith over for a visit would count, but I guess the other Sims don't realize he's not from around here.
25  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / You've already met aliens, Vidcund. on: 2007 August 26, 06:24:09
In Strangetown, Vidcund Curious has a "Meet Aliens" want that was fulfilled when he was abducted while stargazing using the telescope. He still has the "Meet Aliens" want, though, and it keeps coming back no matter how many times I reroll his wants. Is this normal? I would have thought that "Meet Aliens" would be like "Have First Kiss" and such in that it would not come back once it has been fulfilled.
