I would freaking love ACR for the Sims 3. Because you know what? Despite all of the ~crazy~ stuff that goes on thanks to Story anProgression, I haven't really seen any/many townies hooking up with each other. In my first game I was kind of hoping Agnes Crumplebottom would find somebody, but it looks like she stayed alone (and pretty miserable, last time I spotted her in that save). As far as I can tell, Mortimer, Bella, and Kaylynn don't seem to have any romantic interest in each other. I've seen married couples get pregnant, but that's it.

Is there an "ask to move in" on the Romance menu? I had my Sim get engaged to Cycl0n3 and there still wasn't one popping up. I wound up finding it in the "friendly" menu after building up the interactions for awhile.
Indeed; the 'ask to move in' option drops down in the friendly tab- however, if you are in a deep unromantic moment with another sim- despite it being in a different tab- the option to 'ask to move in' should appear in the friendly tab. Though, much as you mentioned Seana, options do not always pop up- as with you not being able to WooHoo. If you find you can not get the 'ask to move in', try queuing a bunch of friendly actions until it appears. Seana, if you manually have both your gals 'relax' in bed, do you get the option to WooHoo? Yeah, it does come up, but everytime either one of them proposes it the other rejects it. I think it is the Unflirty trait -- it's not that it's impossible, but that there has to be an extremely high relationship between them for them to get it on. I'll keep working on it...

How long should I try with one partner before deciding it's not going anywhere? So far my sim has not had option to Confess Attraction or Ask to move in (on romance menu) for any sim, even ones she's been woohooing the socks off night after night.
It would be kinda nice to see her settle down with someone - any tips?

I wound up finding it in the "friendly" menu after building up the interactions for awhile. Right now my big problem is that I made a cute lesbian married couple who are polar opposites -- and one is "unflirty" (doh, why did I do that)*. And I canNOT get them to woohoo, not even when they find each other "extremely irresistable", and no matter who is initiating in the interaction. YES, that means her wife, the great kisser/family oriented/friendly Sim turned down woohoo from her, too. I guess I just have to try to build up their relationship points. *She's also a workaholic with no sense of humor, lol.

TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Just a word of warning - - Walmart Prima Guide

I like Prima Guides because it's good to have something to turn to without having to open up a window while the game is playing. And yes, I also like lists.
Mine is full-sized, so the type is easy to read. I can't say I'm a huge fan of this guide though, as it's kind of badly organized. Rather than separating things into meaningful chapters, a lot of stuff is just sort of lumped together. I haven't been able to find a list of plantables so far, as well as a few other things. It took me forever to find out things like how to get to the "invite to move in" stage. The map and list of households is at least useful in figuring out where people live and how many Sims the neighborhood started out with.

I love the soundtrack. I know people were complaining here about custom music with the leak version but I just saw someone on LJ who had the legal version talking about dropping music into the "Custom" folder and listening to it in the game.

Rod Humble gets in on the L&P for this "feature": http://www.quartertothree.com/game-talk/showpost.php?p=1748767&postcount=231Quote: Originally Posted by Kid Socrates View Post I hope that's easily toggled, then, because both my wife and I play by creating multiple families and hopping back and forth between them. Disreptutable sources aside, there is a toggle called "story progression" in the full game that turns on/off Sims families ability to do major life changing stuff while you are not controlling them. It was put in there based on player feedback like yours that you wanted total control of multiple families. http://www.quartertothree.com/game-talk/showpost.php?p=1748818&postcount=233Quote: Originally Posted by roBurky View Post Thanks for that, Rod. All families are controllable so its global. There is a seperate toggle for aging as well , that turned out to be a popular request during testing.
If this stuff needs to be added to we will. After launch we will get a pulse on the communtiy requests.
I am not trying to sell you here but FWIW I would note that for a lot of Sims 2 beta players there were major concerns about family control settings >before< playing Sims 3 and very little >after< playing. It was like a mental shift occured where ownership of the whole town kind of kicked into people meta mental model where individual familes were there in Sims 2.
But anyways post launch you will doubtless see a lot of threads on community sites talking about thier experiences one way or another. My hunch is they will trend the way the beta testers did, but if not we will adjust. Why don't you come visit MATY, Rod?

Yeah, I'm curious about laptop quality, too. My plans to buy a new gaming computer before June 2 fell through and I probably won't be able to get until for a few weeks after the game comes out, so I'm planning on cleaning a bunch of shit off of my laptop and trying to install it on there. It has an NVIDIA GeForce Go 7400 w/ 256mb, and the computer as 2GB RAM. And the processor is Core 2 Duo T7200. It has Vista on it, but I have an XP disc I can install on there. The main thing I'm nervous is that I had BSOD issues with TS2, and had to disable shaders or whatever the work around was. Hopefully I don't experience some kind of problem with TS3, too.

BUG!
Music isn't working in my game. Nothing is muted, but build/buy are silent. For a while, if I went from Live to Buy or Build, the TV in live mode would remain on complete with video and sound. Now it's back to doing its regular pause but all is quiet.
The radio doesn't produce any sound either.
This doesn't address the bulk of your problems, but I noticed from watching videos that it seems like you can only hear the stereo when the camera is far enough within the house (because, I imagine, there needs to be a barrier for sounds to fade out so that you don't hear the stereo all over the neighborhood). This might not be the problem you're having, though, if you're experiencing widespread audio issues ...

Oh Lerf, I had that awful Vundo Trojan on my laptop this past fall. I gave up and just did a fresh install. First time I've ever had a really bad virus on a computer, I'm usually really good about it.
I have a question for those with the game ... I don't think it has been answered yet. Is there same sex marriage in the game? Is it still "joined unions"? Or is it (gulp) not in there at all?

As I understand it, it looks like making stuff like clothing and objects is doable. What is going to be difficult is more advanced modding, like, I guess, Macrotastics and FFS Lot Debugger.
But as stated above, they're working on it. (And it's not like it hasn't taken 5 years to get SimPe to the point where it can do what it does now. So patience is a virture.)
Wasn't that the point of the whole "make your own thing" thing they tried to promote, or did they reverse that out and decide that the only new content you'll get will have to be bought through the store? I know the whole 'create a style" tool is up and running, but that is just recolors. Are they seriously limiting new custom made meshes/objects? Or am I not understanding this correctly? Well, what Lerf said in what you quoted is that as he understands it, making clothes and objects -- I'm presuming he meant actually making new ones and not recoloring them -- is doable, but we don't really know yet. I guess we will find out in due time. But it might take awhile even if it is doable ... I'm sure all of you remember pretty well that it took something like six months for people to understand how to make new meshes for TS2. (That wasn't very long after I started playing TS2 and I was like, "Durrr .. what are meshes ...") Yes, I meant actually making new ones--meshes and patterns--not just recoloring. And, my husband says I'm a she. But that's ok, it's hard to tell. Especially as I eschew avatars. (it's a religious thing.) Sorry! My gender observation skills seem to be way off lately. On S2C/MTS2 I made the terrible mistake of referring to Inge as a "he" (sorry, Inge, I lurk and don't pay much attention) and some annoying little twat got all in my face about it. (Honestly, I think that had little to do with why they got all bitchy, anyway. I think I have a "bother bother bother me" sign stuck to me on that forum).

Hm, I haven't been able to figure out if I can only play the one selfmade sim, or if I can add another one to the town. Kind of sucks if I can only have one selfmade sim/family per saved town/game. Yeesh.
Yeah, noticed that long hair sticks through hoodies, too, as has happened in the past with Sims 1 and 2.
If you read this thread you might find out~ j/k I think what I read in here earlier is that you have to click on the "..." button and then click on "edit neighborhood", and then there is an option to switch families or something like that? edit: Or, oh. Maybe that doesn't work for being able to create new families. It doesn't seem likely though.

For the story to go totally as planned, the Caliente sisters and Don Lothario would have to show up eventually. And Dina's ugly enough in TS2 already.
There was actually an interview with MJ Chun recently (the one in which she confirmed Render Girl wasn't in the game) and she said the Lotharios are in the bonus European neighborhood ... Riverview or whatever it's called.
