TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Second AL patch is out.

Right, I've got a problem.
I got AL today, and obviously don't want Suckurom. However:
- I can't download patch 1 (since EA replaced it with patch 2) and apply a no cd to it - The archives for the no cd of the basegame I've found, are all corrupt, or the download mirrors don't work (none of them)
So basically, I can't play until a no cd for patch 2 comes out. Is there anyone who can:
- Zip up patch 1 for me and post a download link or - Do the same with a working patch 1 no cd archive?
Cheers...
Did you try GameCopyWorld? I just tried to download the no cd no patch, and it worked fine.

According to the Sims2 website, the patch for Nightlife already includes the bugfixes for University. So, if you managed to get Nightlife to work, you don't need to run the University one. From the Nightlife Patch page... Complete list of changes: Includes The Sims 2 University bug fixes. See complete list.

Yes to both. I also combine all my package files. Say I get a dress with a mesh and four recolours, I use SimPE to combine all four files into one. It makes it so much easier and there are no abandoned meshes (plus a lot less files to muddle through. I do the same with hair and multiple recolours of maxis objects etc. I have 735 (probably without combining it would be over 2000) files in 55 folders.
Is there a tutorial somewhere on how to do this? I'm a maniac when it comes to my downloadfolder, and this seems to be the perfect solution for the headaches it gives me sometimes. I don't think so I just figured out most of it on my own and what I didn't know I asked the creators that I knew would. I can write out a tut this weekend and pm it to you if you can't find something suitable by then. Ohh, could you send it to me too?

... as well as my smoke detectors. I guess the guys at EA were concerned my sims are all too stupid to cook without burning down the complex.
Now, see that is actually realistic to me. Where I live, it is the law that landlords have to provide smoke detectors in all units, and even provide batteries for them as well.

TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Question about System Requirements
|
on: 2008 August 27, 20:05:50

I went by the Sims2 website's listing of requirements (I know, what was I thinking) and pre-ordered the game, as the site stated the CPU requirements were only 1.3 GHz. Then I got the game and the box says 1.8. Would the game still run if I don't have that much? I know it probably wouldn't run on the highest settings, and I can live with that; I just don't want to open the game and try it, only to find out it won't work at all.

There still isn't a breast feed hack, or I would have waited to buy a fridge, and bought something else, instead. Kalypso should, in fact, be dead. I used to use a mod from Squinge, feedbaby...haven't had it in my game for a while, so I don't know if it works with freetime, but its at the Sims2 Graveyard. Go to downloads, find Squinge's name, look for "yateenkidbaby_stuff", and the files are there. There is one for ladies only, and one that includes the gents as well (ewww!)

TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Eating out and food freshness

I thought freshness would make the BV food cart meals a better value. They're not very filling. I understand what you mean about the restaurant meals, though.
I went into SimPE and changed the cooking skill of the Local Chefs to 10. One had 0 cooking skill. It did seem to help a bit.

TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Do veggies from sickly plants give food as much gumption as thriving ones?

According to the Prima Guide (and we all know just how accurate THAT can be!) the quality of food does affect the hunger point satisfaction in a 1-2-3 manner. Example: a bland tomato offers 1 point, tasty offers 2, and 3 for mouthwatering. This also applies to the juices. I've not made any juices, but the guide says that only tasty and mouthwatering will give you the "Power Juice".
So, yes, the higher, the better, but how much time you want to spend chatting up your plants is up to you.

I have the same thing happening in FM, that came in the EA Downtown neighborhood. But then if I wait long enough, a chef is suddenly there. I haven't watched to see if he is showing up later, or just whips off his invisibility cloak, but this lot is totaly EA made and I havn't changed anything in it.
