Opps. Oh, well don't expect much better than that from me. I keep forgetting to check whenever EA updates the store and haven't been able to spend any points.

Has anyone bought the Buccaneer's Bounty set? I've got the 700 points that requires.
3  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / Pudding Plots / Re: TS1 Newbie House (7 Sim Lane) on: 2010 February 13, 23:25:32
Inspired by CharmingFirewaller, here's my attempt at 5 Sim Lane. The house itself is almost identical. The only thing that is missing is the piano. It's a bit dark, so it might help to place some more lamps. No graves, unfortunately.  Smiley

4  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: How big does the Bootcamp partition need to be? on: 2010 February 06, 20:22:32
The Sims 2 with all expansion packs and stuff packs is 11.3 GB for me. That's just the games though, no user data. I also removed most of the unessential files (languages, startup movies, splash music, etc.) I'm sure you could make it slightly smaller by compressing the package files too. I would allocate at least 35+ GB personally. It would be better to have it larger than you need at the moment instead of finding it too small later.

From my experience with BootCamp, you can read the Windows partitions from within Mac OS X, but you can't write to NTFS. You can't read or write to the Mac OS X partition in Windows by default, but I know there are plugins for both.
5  TS2: Burnination / Peasantry / Re: Reducing the Size of Your Sims 2 Installation on: 2009 August 17, 00:06:41
Yep, that's the one.
By the way, has anyone tried deleting the CarryForward.sgfiles.package files? They seem to just contain stuff from previous expansion packs, so I'm wondering if you have all of them it would be okay to get rid of them. That would be another 395MB off the installation. Something else that I don't see mentioned that I have done, is to delete the splash.package files. The neat thing is you can keep the one from your favorite expansion pack and then it'll use that one when starting up. Or just delete all of them and not have to hear the annoying loop over and over.
6  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Processor/Ram vs Graphics Card? on: 2009 June 09, 05:37:53
Thanks for the replies - looks like that model of dell is out then.  I'm going to look around a bit more but I'll stick with better video card.  Keeping in mind RAM can be updated later.  Smiley
RAM is very easy to upgrade.  BTW, if these are custom builds, don't upgrade the memory directly from the manufacture. They charge insane amounts, and usually you can install it yourself for way less. Also, since these are laptops it would be a really good idea to get a cooling pad to put them on. Those are very powerful graphics chips and will put out a ton of heat when playing games.
7  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / Facts & Strategery / Re: Object upgrades - the real list on: 2009 June 08, 00:12:00
What exactly does Improved Graphics do, anyway? Does it make games more fun? Because it seems unbreakable is more useful than that as they seem to break every other use.
8  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Share pix / vidz of THE HORROR here on: 2009 June 07, 06:13:23
Use the stair method, 3 levels down (be sure to have move objects on) to get the wall height right and level the ground from the last stair level. Then you will  be able to place things cause the wall height is right.
I haven't tried to make a basement in TS3 yet, but in TS2 what I would do was put wallpaper on  the foundation. Then I'd keep lowering the ground until I saw the bottom of the paper. This is probably still valid.
9  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Sims 3 under Windows 7 on: 2009 June 04, 01:51:46
I had Vista for a while, finally formatted it and reinstalled XP in a fit of whateverness (well, mostly retardation as it meant I was no longer utilizing all my RAM); I've probably managed to SecuRom myself on this XP install so I was planning on wiping it soon anyway. I'm glad to hear it is working well for you all.

Does it still have UAC?
Yes, but now you can tweak it so it doesn't bother you as much. You can still turn it off completely as well.
10  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Sims 3 + Windows 7? on: 2009 June 03, 18:26:34
I have The Sims 2 with all expansion packs installed on Windows 7 64x build 7127 and everything is working fine. The Sims 1 (I still play it) and The Sims 3 work as well.
11  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: What would you do if 2 Grand was burning a hole in your pocket on: 2009 March 07, 21:06:46
What about the Sager NP5793? I was able to build a computer with a better processor, video card, and blu-ray drive than the Dell Laptop. They still sell their PCs with XP too. If you're going for a desktop though It would still be a much better value to build your own.
12  TS2: Burnination / Peasantry / Re: No Titles for Witches on: 2009 March 07, 05:22:13
It still works fine for me with M&G installed. Do you have any other package files named 'Live.package' in your downloads folder?
13  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: TS3 L&P on: 2009 February 15, 20:21:24
There's that pink building in the background too. It seems like there is a balcony because of the fence, but at that angle there's no bottom visible. So now we're back to no ceilings?  Roll Eyes

The same people who purchased Open for Business?
15  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: Broken bodyshop and CAS previews (reinstall did not fix) on: 2009 February 01, 03:31:35
Look at your skintones, those would be more likely to be causing this.
16  TS2: Burnination / Peasantry / Re: The Great CS Bundle on: 2009 January 29, 02:21:57
I think it's tight pants, it's working fine in my game.  Smiley
Also, this really should be made a sticky!
17  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: Oops! QuickTime broke it! (Mac issue) on: 2009 January 27, 22:35:53
b) buy all the games over again.
ARR! Besides, by the time Aspyr gets the next expansion pack out you'll be able to get The Sims 2 Complete Collection in the bargain bin for $9.99.  Tongue
18  TS2: Burnination / Peasantry / Re: TS2 Store Stuff Collections on: 2009 January 27, 06:22:35

I'm not sure if anyone else has done this already but I fixed this teen bob mesh. That weird square was bugging me.
Edit: Also the broken files seem to be these:
ambodysimslogohoodie.package
ambodysimslogotee.package
afbodysimslogotee.package

Moderator edit: moved the file offsite

I believe that he fixed it at some point, it might be worth downloading again.
20  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Most worthwhile expansions and stuff packs? on: 2008 December 04, 15:30:30

I don't want no overlay. I found a replacement for the evil overlay that I can live with, it's only the good one that bugs me. And even the good one is almost tolerable, on S1. I just can't stand that it makes S4 sims look like they have an extreme case of radioactive chicken pox.
Faizah, mine is two separate files. Just install the one for the good witch.

Or if you would prefer not to do that every time, kick everyone out first.
22  TS2: Burnination / Peasantry / Re: TS2 Store Asian Fusion Collection on: 2008 December 03, 06:07:18
Is there anything worth 50 points that I can grab? I just kind of want to be done with the store now.
23  TS2: Burnination / Peasantry / Re: No Titles for Witches on: 2008 November 29, 11:14:29
I'm assuming this won't affect already spawned/made witches? Or will it?
It will affect all of the witches.
I already have a live.package from Jordi, for names. Is there any way to concatenate the two?
Do you have SimPe? It should be fine if you export the strings from mine and import them into that one.
24  TS2: Burnination / Peasantry / No Titles for Witches on: 2008 November 29, 10:27:31
Really simple, I just removed the text from the witches/warlocks so it doesn't show as Blah Bluh the Incredibly Annoying Warlock anymore. The file has to be titled Live.package or this won't work.

Updated, compressorized.

The MSI Wind uses the same processor I think.
