I'm finding it incredibly ironic that it either refuses to capitalize the 'I', or leaves it out of the sentence altogether, but is so obviously full of self importance.
Why this aversion to giving the personal pronoun its proper due, while insisting on special treatment for itself?

There's no apostrophe when using the possessive form of the word "it".

Yeah, um, good eye, there. I like to, yeah, um, intentionally throw in obvious mistakes just to see who catches them. Yeah, that's the ticket...

Dammit!!!

What manner of psychosis is this? Someone with learnings of psychology please explain.

That's another person to the list that has told me what i'm doing, AND resorted to name calling. Also, as i've said - i type what i mean to say.. so what the hell is the point in quoting me only to redo what i've typed. Dense or what.

When you are responding to a specific person, it is the norm to quote specifically what they said that you are responding to. Unlike
yourself, most people do not just post in whatever way feels 'alright' to them.

They post so that other people can understand them, following guidelines that the general citizenry recognizes.

I just noticed that all of your arguments seem oddly familiar. I suspect you sprang full grown from our resident 'tard's thick head.
I don't think there's a position for a vice-tard, so you may go at any time.
4  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Important notice from the GRAMMAR POLICE. Plz read. This means you. on: 2009 May 29, 15:41:25
Thats just the way i type. I don't use silly n00b speak, or 'pmsl' everywhere, but yeah, i do cut corners with capital I's. And it's not riddled with errors. And 'in your opinion is annoying', yes. I also love the way you use 'we' to refer to yourselves. It's like your a cult or something. You seem to forget you don't own the site, even if you feel you are some type of minion. Pescado hasn't once really said anything himself about how to behave with grammar, this thread wasn't even created by him! I said i understood, now you are telling me AGAIN that i don't and telling me the reason why you think it. I'm careful that i type things to an 'alright' standard, but i know i just won't be able to keep to making sure every tiny thing is done 'the proper' way. And it has nothing to so with doing it 'intentionally'. It's my habit, but it gets me by. If the guy in charge asks me to try harder than perhaps it's more worth thinking about.

*sigh* Typing to your 'alright standard' is not going to cut it here. Your 'alright' is our horrible. 'We', and 'our', meaning the majority of
people who are regular posters and who prefer this standard. The citizenry, the MATYians.
And what do you mean 'cut corners with capital I's'? The shift key is no further when typing an 'I' as it is for any other letter, and
there is no shortage of capital letters as far as I know.

Proper capitalization is important, SimplyComplex. As you will know if you have ever had to help your uncle Jack off a horse.
That was a brilliant, vivid illustration.
5  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Important notice from the GRAMMAR POLICE. Plz read. This means you. on: 2009 May 29, 15:25:27
It's not as simple as that because they came back at me telling me i meant things that i had never written. Twisting ways i had worded things. Like some of the examples i brought up. The words i use are the words i mean, if i don't say things like 'i think you should all change for me' then thats what i meant to not put. But i've had people coming back to me with 'oh so you want us to change for you' type thing. Near the beginning i said how a spelling mistake is so bad, and i got things back saying that you basically have no intelligence if you don't capitalize something etc. So from asking an innocent enough question, people make it personal by stating what a person is if they don't spell the way THEY want. Then telling me how i don't get the way it works here even though more than once i had stated i understood. So if i took care to make it clear i understood, yet still got people repeating themselves that i didn't, just who has made the mistake there. Not me! Bottom line on the subject of this thread though, is that this site would still be good and non-n00bish even if people forgot the odd apostrophe or capital. The odd grammar drop isn't the same as people coming on going 'yo peepz, sims 3 iz da bomb (or not as the case may be) ^.^ w00t'. And it seems to be that people don't want THAT type on here?

That's what you meant to not put? Well congratulations, you not putted the hell out of it.

We keep saying that you don't understand because you are not making any changes in your behavior that show you understand.
Your post above is not 'lacking the odd apostrophe', it's riddled with errors and just damn annoying to read.
This what we DO NOT WANT.

And they aren't asking you to spell the way they want, they're asking you spell things the way they are spelled. Spelling is not
subjective, you nit.
6  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Important notice from the GRAMMAR POLICE. Plz read. This means you. on: 2009 May 29, 15:00:52
We can only take things the way you type them.  That is what everyone is saying.

Precisely.
Everyone is 'blaming you' for having failed to express yourself clearly because you failed to express yourself clearly.
If you frequent other forums, you may be aware that each has it's own standards and codes of conduct. Such is the case with MATY.

You are being cited for failure to comply. Lack of compliance generally results in being poked with sharp sticks and eventually killed with fire.
7  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Important notice from the GRAMMAR POLICE. Plz read. This means you. on: 2009 May 29, 14:45:54
And maybe you should open your minds to the fact people can mean things differently to how you would assume.

So, you're saying we should redefine the actual meanings of words and phrases to fit whatever it is you're trying
to express?
That's a fantastic idea and I'm sure it will be implemented right away.
8  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Important notice from the GRAMMAR POLICE. Plz read. This means you. on: 2009 May 29, 13:01:36
'Lol..' seriously that's all i have to say to both your replies. You are so closed minded you can't see the grey inbetween. Well i tried to put another point across but you're not having any of it so i suppose it's just another shame. Oh gosh, i used wiggles to emphasize my name, that MUST mean i'm a pleb. And my attitude? It's a good one to have, i'm proud of it, i know i'm a fair person. Don't worry though you can have your little obsession back, i can see your never going to open your eyes. Would just be nice if you were nicer to people even when you want to get a grammar point across.

Apparently, even though you got several memos, you understood none of them. Nice & MATY are not a chocolate and peanut butter type thing. They do not mix.
Also, unless you plan to write us some lovely beat poems about spring and prostitutes, please capitalize your 'i's.
Thank you.
9  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: THE HORROR: The REAL TS3 Scoop As It Unfolds on: 2009 May 27, 21:13:49

Well, for instance, my evil sim has fathered 4 bastards, none of which he has ever met.

That's not illogical. It's illogical for the birth parent to leave the hospital carrying an infant and have no further relationship progress than she had with
a person she greeted two days ago.
10  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: THE HORROR: The REAL TS3 Scoop As It Unfolds on: 2009 May 27, 21:04:41
I'm trying to keep up with the thread, but I've most likely skipped some pages, so the following may have been addressed.

What is up with the lack of relationships between family and/or household members? I've so far witnessed two sprog birthings with zero relationship for mother/child, which
is retarded. I wouldn't mind working them up to friendship status, but they should start with at least some relationship points.

Also, the first of the families the game moved into town without my permission(this is also retarded) consists of two adult women and a toddler. Neither of the
women has any relationship status with the other, or with the child. What the hell?

The regular feed / snuggle / play routine you have to go through with infants, as well as toddler training, should give you some reasonable level of relationship with the kid before it will ever matter.

No idea on the second one. That's bizarre.

Well derr. I know how to get the relationship up, but why wouldn't they start out with one. It are stupid.

I'm busy with work and haven't yet read the last 5 pages of this thread, so maybe someone already hit upon this opportunity, but I thought it was interesting.

I was moving a new character into a furnished Maxis house (The Monotone), when this popped up:

I chose to ignore it since I wanted to play out a specific scenario. I wonder to see how much of a mess would have been present had I accepted it.

A big one. I accepted it for my CAS sim. All the furniture has burned to piles of ash and the floors in every room were 'burned'.
However, the fireman came over and helped him clean the mess (like they do, ya know), and there were meteor bits
all over that were sellable.

Or, I may be giving EAxis too much credit. I just realized that I sent her to the gym the same day.
14  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: THE HORROR: The REAL TS3 Scoop As It Unfolds on: 2009 May 26, 01:46:43
I had an inappropriate sim have someone over to woohoo and he spent the night.
Now, the morning after, she has the option to 'complain about soreness'. hur.
This game is growing on me.

I'm finding build mode really annoying. Although the color wheel is pretty genius, it's taking me three times as long to finish a house now. And why make the designable
items in more than one color in the catalog? Seems redundant.

@timely, 5or so gigs is the space it requires on your harddrive, 1gig is the amount of ram to run it properly(I'm not sure about the properly-I have 2gigs and it runs
as well, if not better than 2).
If you give permission to poke you, it's no fun.

How do you do downloads for S3......please explain the procedure
Thank you

There is a 'read me' in the attachment file. Read it.

My favorite, seemingly insignificant thing so far is the 'no auto handrail' option on stairs. Any handrail can go with any stair=pretty cool.

extreme lol.

I started with the mininova link my original d/l time estimate was 3ys 7wks.

I are restarting this torrent.

Love mistyk's color palatte & I particularly like the kitchen and swim areas. It's much too nice for that skeevy Landgrabbe now.

Anebrd, the M&G roofline works, but I think another color combo would suit it more.

Now I have to catch fake a mild bug so I can have a day to build.
20  TS2: Burnination / Peasantry / Re: TS2 Store Stuff on: 2008 September 06, 14:27:06
All objects show and are usable, but the clothing and hair are no where to be seen.

I remember having the same problem with previous store stuff,
but moving the clothing and hair from catalog/bins to my Downloads folder fixed the problem.

This time, when I moved the files to Downloads, they still didn't show up in either BodyShop or CAS.

I deleted groups.cache, restarted, and all are showing correctly now.

I plan to populate a cemetery with any townies who show up in that face/body paint.

Well, at least primp is still there, which kinda surprises me actually. I guess all their attention went into not forgetting that one.

Now, it seems I can't move inhabited apartment from place to place. Can still move other lots and inanhabited one. Anyone else can confirm this?

I'm getting that one as well.
23  TS2: Burnination / Planet K 20X6 / Re: EAxis House of Fail: August on: 2008 August 27, 18:57:36

I had a look back through the thread and did come up with my top five and the major reason for each.
They're in chronological order, not order of preference.

Emma's for use of Seasons and Freetime Goodies. I tend to forget to try out all the new stuffs, so lots that feature them are cool, and this looks really playable and fun.

Witche's for the lovely adobe exterior and the ultra winful basement. This lot requires further study for copying inspiration purposes.

Salix Tree's for the overall peaceful feeling of natural goodness.

MaayaBee's for excellent downtown pizazz.

Zazazu's for being institutional but still appealing, and having so many AL possibilities.
24  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Apartment Life: Obligatory Hate/Love Topic on: 2008 August 27, 18:07:36
OK, I've got the game but won't be able to play myself till tomorrow night and I'm curious to find out something from the people who are playing already... Is the witch stuff made in a way like the computer from that Humble guy where you had no choice but to see and be annoyed by it? I don't personally want witches in my game and am wondering if I'm going to have to make an anti-witch hack like the anti-vampire, anti-humble, and anti-plant-sim hacks I made... Tongue

When I played a house where the family already knew both witches, they came over on day one, but I have yet to see them while playing any other families.
I also didn't notice anyone popping up with any witch type wants other than the the first family.
25  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: Apartment Life Borkiness, or how i ended the world in 1 hour. on: 2008 August 27, 15:44:28
I played AL for 30 minutes this morning and these are the bugs I noticed:

- Potty and high chair that came with FT are missing the wooden colours, I can only choose white ones. I can place them on the apartment, but they're invisible and so I can't use them.

All colors and interactions are working fine for me.
