TS4: The Pee-ening / Insert Amusing Name Here / Re: Sims4 is not gonna happen on here, is it?
|

As far as I can tell, TS2 was the real game. 3 gave us a living 'hood, which was almost worth something. Admittedly you had to drop genetics, but you also got to drop the scheduler, rotating houses, and the notion that any time you accidentally deleted a family your hood would go BFBVFS (as much fun as that was). I still think the graphics in 2 were better than the softened puddingy stuff in 3. Nevertheless, the point I am slowly getting at is that every new version of the game has dumbed it down further and removed key features to replace them with shiny useless rubbish (like emotions - who uses emotions anyway?).

Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: What needs to go where to make AM work

Honestly, if the AM updater was a GPS, these people would relinquish all responsibility to think for themselves and drive into a lake and drown. Manually updating when necessary and ensuring that files are in the right spot is the better method.

Awesomemod does not "show up"? What were you hoping to see? Did you bother to configure it?
It's a mod. It changes some code in the game to make it work (better). It is not an object. There are no fireworks or fluffy bunnies. There may be destruction depending on your skills of configuration and following simple directions (or lack thereof). I am not particularly optimistic at this point.

Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: Do I have to put the download in all the expansion folders?

On the other hand, doing it seems to work, and does not seem to hurt. In any case, that point is academic, since AM works in our games and not in the OP's game. Therefore, the problem is with either a) the OP's installation of the game; or b) the OP's ability to follow directions on how to install files.
My money's on 'b'. No, really? What gave it away? The old method, which Pescado still uses and obviously Jolrei does too, requires a .dll in each game/bin. I find this method works and have never seen the need to change. The new method uses the Microsoftian garbage pit known as 'My Documents'.
I hate "My Documents".

To the OP, there are parts of the framework that have to be loaded into each EP directory you have.
This was once true, but I don't believe it is any longer. On the other hand, doing it seems to work, and does not seem to hurt. Standards are dropping everywhere.
To the OP, there are parts of the framework that have to be loaded into each EP directory you have. There is a thread on this in the AM section with a "how to", in addition to the directions that are provided when you download the framework itself. Read the directions again. I do not have the problems you are describing in my game, so the problem is not with the framework.

That said (and very well, too, jezzer. That was great.), there do seem to be a myriad different actions that cause pudding resets since 1.42. I have noticed them after "serenade", after eating a picnic in the park, collecting rocks/minerals, etc. My puddings are now spending their lives doing things and resetting.

The "setconfig moveinventoryobjects true" approach seems to function as a workaround - at least they can get their mail if you simply view inventory on the mailbox and then "take all". At that point you still have to remove all the omni plant boxes (every sim day when the mailman comes) and nuke them. It's a bit of an omni plant apocalypse.

It does seem to be related to gardening, since the last patch. I was wondering whether it was because I only have EPs up to Generations. There is a jump bug reported (which my game has got as well) where the telescope stops working if you don't have Seasons.
Same issue with the "semi-freeze". I nuked and replaced the mailbox, and I also have the "omni plant" immovable spam in inventory. I'll try the setconfig step.

TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Alternatives for the Kitten Killer?
|
on: 2012 November 28, 02:14:03

TS3 does not really need an auto-woohoo mod. TS3 storymode takes care of the attraction, copulating, and reproducing angle of other houses while you control your sacred houses. If you are, on the other hand, simply interested in just sitting around watching pixel people do it for your own entertainment, your complaint about no TS3 ACR has very little to do with the game, and you may wish to avail yourself of the wealth of pr0n on the internet. It is said that often those pictures are more realistic than either TS2 or TS3.

That's a townhouse is it? IRL I own a townhouse, and I can tell you it is nowhere near as nice as this. I haz a jellus. On the other hand, no reason my sims shouldn't enjoy it. They tend to have more money than braincells I do, anyway.

Hello bos-somthing: You have been selected for a crash course on "Using Search for N00bs - How not to get killed at MATY". No registration or indeed any further posting is necessary or desirable. Simply start using the search feature until you get really good at it (if that be possible).
Practice, as they say, makes perfect.

I continue to play (keeping always the good backup copy) but I cannot send them to travel because they come back with the same bug.
Use a previous backup. Your "good backup copy" is likely not as good as you think it is if the problem continues to reproduce. Continuing to do something that clearly does not work over and over is the defiinition of "idiot".
