1  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: Apartment Life Borkiness, or how i ended the world in 1 hour. on: 2008 September 30, 02:00:01
I just received AL in the mail today.

Should I wait for a patch before installing, or install right away and use the director's cut from here?

Reasons for your answers will be appreciated.
2  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: Dorm member Sims give lots of error messages on: 2008 September 01, 21:46:23
I've found that the mods I downloaded from this site, by Dizzy, are the problem.  I haven't done a binary search on that folder to find the specific culprit, just living without them for now.

I'll get that file from SW right away.  Thanx for the help.
3  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: Dorm member Sims give lots of error messages on: 2008 August 31, 01:07:07
I've been doing that kind of search forever.  I just didn't know it had a name.   Embarrassed

I also didn't realize you meant I should look at my mods.  Duh.

I'll give it a try, and thanks.  Kiss

I'm afraid I don't even know what that means.

I know what binary means, and I know what search means, but I don't know how to do a binary search on my Uni neighborhood.

Are there instructions on this site?
5  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Dorm member Sims give lots of error messages on: 2008 August 29, 20:05:53
It's getting to be so frequent to get these messages, I'm avoiding playing any of the college kids.

Your genius help would be mucho appreciated.

(all EPs installed through FT, stuff packs:  GLS and BBS)

Here's the message I'm getting:

Why not just put items you want inaccessible in Sim inventory?
7  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Interesting problem... on: 2008 March 04, 22:06:49
It definitely sounds like the Nvidia problem.
I have that video casrd, too.  My system does that hour glass thing all the time.

I found if I put TS2 in a window, it wouldn't crash my computer, which it did often.

As far as I know, that's the only solution.
8  TS2: Burnination / Peasantry / Re: Testers Wanted: New College Scholarships on: 2008 March 02, 16:49:52
This is an idea that makes sense.

If dancing can get a scholarship, I don't see why being good at robotery or fishing shouldn't.

I've got it in my hacks directory and will let you know how it works.

1 Thanx for putting bed making into the clean menu choice.  It really helps to cut down on micromanagement.  (baa)

2 Near the beginning of this thread, it was mentioned that cat food bowls are too difficult to keep track of. That's why I buy two bowls.  It's rare that I don't notice when one is empty.

3. I see no problem with dig for stuff having its own menu item.  As an aside, I've never had a Sim develop the body skill while digging.  Has it always been this way?

10  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Lot Sync Timer: how do YOU use it? on: 2008 February 22, 22:34:26

I also use the "skip day" function for those lots where nothing is happening - e.g. maxed out elders waiting to die or maxed out almost-elders waiting for their offspring to return from college.  In those cases, I'll skip two of the three days in my rotation, rather than watch my sims power idle for 3 days.

Brilliant!  I've got lots I avoid because they're just waiting to die and it's booooooring.

Thanx, I'm going to use it today.
11  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Hack Request: Leave computer user alone on: 2008 February 22, 22:24:39
Thanx for the advice.  I'll give it a try.

And, it's not that Sims want to use the comp themselves, they just don't want anyone else to use it.

Argh
12  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Hack Request: Leave computer user alone on: 2008 February 22, 22:19:44
I did a search on "hack requests" and all but one were on the Podium.

waving arms, running in circles

And, the request is:

The people running from different floors, in the middle of queued instructions, in order to complain that someone is using the computer, are driving me nuts.

There might be proper times to do this, as when they play that loud and annoying EA game, but that's not when the complaints happen.

I've had five people standing around and bitching about someone using the computer to find a job, write a term paper, write a novel, etc.

Please give us a fix for this.  I'm sure someone else must find this a pain.
13  Awesomeware / The Armory / Re: FFS "Batbox" Lot Debugger v2.0: NUCLEAR WAR EDITION on: 2008 February 22, 18:51:00
Thanx for the info, BastDawn.  I also checked out your uploads to MTS2.  Very nice.

Back to the magic wand files, I have a problem challenge.

I used a tutorial to make recolors and it told me to get Wizard of SimPE.  When it was installed, it made it impossible for me to access the regular SimPE program.  Urp!
14  Awesomeware / The Armory / Re: FFS "Batbox" Lot Debugger v2.0: NUCLEAR WAR EDITION on: 2008 February 19, 21:01:55
Magic wand?  What magic wand?  This is the first I've heard of it.

If it's half as awesome as Macrotastics, I want it.

I did a search on magic wand and it just gave me the above posts, nothing older.
15  TS2: Burnination / Planet K 20X6 / Re: More Awful Than You! February: SKINS on: 2008 February 18, 02:07:13
I could only get through half of the second page before aborting.

It's bad enough that someone's brain actually created these monstrosities, but hundred of people downloaded them.

Why, oh why?
16  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Trailer trash/ Chav names on: 2008 February 10, 00:24:49
Jasper and Clementine Hayseed are a lovely Sims couple of mine.
17  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Well-the Unsavoury Charlatan finally showed up. on: 2008 January 25, 02:00:58
If you want to see Crumplebottom, go Downtown.  She's always around when I'm there.
18  Awesomeware / Playsets & Toys / Re: Fruitbowl of Awesomeness: Death To All Nesses Edition on: 2007 June 19, 15:46:22

FEATURES:
Allows produce to be stored, sold in bulk packages at OFB businesses, and
dispensed in manageable doses, all while avoiding a laggy dialog if you
so choose. You can even sell them en-masse in a Dumb Ness-like manner.
Death to all Nesses.

I know this is over thirty days old, and I'm risking death and/or dismemberment, but I cannot figure out the fruitbowl to save my life.

I click on it and get one option, store.  I store a bunch of produce.  I click again.  I get one option, store.  I try left clicking and holding down shift.    I get one option, store.  I try right clicking.   I get one option, store.

So, figuring I must need to go to a deeper menu, I click on store.

I have a choice of all the different produce items, everything, and dialog.  I try dialog, my Sim has a bubble with a cooler above her head.  That fades, and no other options, she walks away.

Has my produce disappeared to the great farm in the sky?

BTW, I did try my juicer and it showed me the four oranges and two lemons I already had in there.
19  TS2: Burnination / Planet K 20X6 / Re: A Million Hojillion Challenges From Frenzied Spammer on: 2007 June 15, 00:39:53
If I were going to do the million dollar challenge, I'd have one new Sim get familyfund-ed to buy a big house and move in.

Then, I'd make seven Sims, one at a time and have them move into the house.

No one would have to have a name change later, and each would bring $20,000 with them, giving a nice $140,000 start to the household.

I just think this way makes more sense.
20  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Creating a Custom Name List on: 2007 June 14, 03:37:31
I've got a name for you.

Years ago, there was a newspaper article that a woman had been arrested for drunk driving.  Her name (and it was in print, I swear) was Marigold Thunderpussy.

I ask you, if that were your name (I'm sure it was by birth), wouldn't you change it?  To like, Jane Thunderpussy?

I crack myself up   Cheesy
21  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Second Seasons Patch is out.... on: 2007 June 14, 03:29:50
I've noticed two small bugs since I installed patch #2.

Characters no longer have the ability to match hair to outfit in CAF.
Members of the garden club have to pay full price for seeds.

The seed thing might get fixed if the garden club gives another evaluation.  I'll have to check that out.
