1  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: what to make of this...is it a game problem or computer issue? on: 2009 January 16, 12:21:49
Sounds like a graphic card issue, mine does it.  I have an NVidia Gforce 7300GT, I ended up rolling back my drivers it got so bad.
2  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Animators Requested! on: 2009 January 15, 18:33:00
To be honest I think you're asking in the wrong forum, you'd be better off asking at MTS2.

For those of you who want to know what the sleek bun looks like from behind here's a couple of screenies.

Also the curly style for the female adult and teens is missing the brown texture, red, black and blond seem ok though, forgot to check the elderly states.  Roll Eyes  I have no idea how to fix this so someone more awesome will have to fix it.

Wow! I can't wait to see what everyone comes up with, the entries so far have been awesome.
I love the Moroccan theme and the Timber houses in particular.
5  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: VOTE! The MATY and PMBD design contest runs until Sept 16, 5pm Malaysian on: 2008 September 09, 23:42:38
I voted
FFS design
Macro caffienate
Spork - moar fight

I'd definitely buy a FFS t-shirt and a macro mug.
6  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Oh My! I think EA might have done something smart for a change! on: 2008 September 01, 09:47:09
I have a fairly old computer but I noticed a change after installing AL, graphics are sharper and I can play larger lots than previously without lag.  I noticed the change the first time I loaded after I installed AL, as soon as I saw the huge lots in Belladonna Cove I thought I wouldn't be able to play them.  They play fine, no lag as of yet, although I haven't explored everything yet.  I wondered if they had updated the graphics card settings because there was a noticeable change in the sharpness too for me.  Maybe Nvidia and EA have finally got their acts together.

specs
AMD Athlon 2600+ 2.10GHz
2 gig ram
Nvidia Geforce 7300GT 512 Meg
XP Professional SP2

Found something I really hate... Evil witches on community lots = cockroaches bleh! Angry

and no cheat to alter apartments after the tenants move in, that's just dumb.
Behold, the power Cheese.

Ah, I don't have the guide and haven't been following the hype so I'm kind of groping in the dark.
10  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Apartment Life: Obligatory Hate/Love Topic on: 2008 August 28, 12:32:27
Dislikes: Miffed that they chose to hide the witchy furniture objects from the buy catalogue.  I wanted a witchy throne and the cool firey torch thingy from the evil witch's castle Sad and no cheat to alter apartments after the tenants move in, that's just dumb.  Ducting, cornices and other build deco is in buy mode, it should really have been in build.

Likes:  Most of the clothing, most of the buy mode stuffeths, though there is some really weird stuff in there.  Witchy FX are cool and purdy.
11  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: MATY and PMBD design contest! on: 2008 August 26, 10:03:10
So far I think the FFS logo is my favourite.
12  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: MATY and PMBD design contest! on: 2008 August 21, 13:46:29
I like the anarchist kitty/MATY version without the catchphrases, would look great on a t-shirt and would work well on smaller items too.
13  TS2: Burnination / Planet K 20X6 / Re: EAxis House of Fail: July on: 2008 July 22, 09:22:50
It's amazing how different everyone's houses are, it's too hard to pick a favourite because they are all great.  I've downloaded them all too, it's nice to see how others build and put schemes together, it gives me ideas because I usually just make boxes if I build  Roll Eyes
14  TS2: Burnination / Planet K 20X6 / Re: EAxis House of Fail: July on: 2008 July 21, 11:38:37
@ Witch, probably not, it's not been play tested because I'm having issues with lighting at the minute, I think Scriptorium screwed up my lighting even though I 'know' I told it not to install whatshisfaces lighting system because I hate the transitions between day and night.  Now I'm getting sucky transitions at dusk which make everything look ridiculously red or so dark that  I can't see what's going on.  I've already reinstalled FT but that hasn't fixed it so I'm playing EAxis only and just building some houses until the new ex pack comes out and then I shall reinstall everything and start afresh.

If I was playing with CC I'd probably block off the kitchen and maybe the stairs with Cyclonesues glass block walls and fences, also I'd add more windows from Windkeepers matching set.

I'm also thinking of adding a third story and moving the bedrooms, that way the second floor can be used as a hobby/skills area.

Edit: Added a new version to my original post.
15  TS2: Burnination / Planet K 20X6 / Re: EAxis House of Fail: July on: 2008 July 20, 21:41:24
Edited to add new version

Added another floor, moved master bedroom upstairs, 2nd floor now has a guest/child's room with en suite and an exercise room, some skilling objects on 2nd floor outdoor area.  Kitchen can now be locked down, island has been removed and replaced with table and chairs, bar is still accessable to guests even if kitchen is locked.

Stairs on 2nd floor can also be locked but guests will still be able to access 3rd floor via outdoor stairs.(realised this afterwards) However access to indoors can be stopped by locking outside doors so they can still use the hot tub etc without wandering through private areas.

Thought I'd give this a go, I think I've only ever entered one other house challenge so it's not amazing but I quite like it.  The house is very modern and simple, I was going to try to do an awesomespec house but failed at the first hurdle because I like open plan  Roll Eyes  All Ex packs and Stuff packs installed, furniture is just to give ideas, there probably aren't enough windows in some areas but it didn't look right with EAxis crap so I omitted them.

Lower floor has open plan pool, bar, dining and kitchen area, loo and shower room and small study.

Upper floor has tv area, kidlets room with en suite, master bedroom with en suite, balconies and access to roof.  The tv area could be moved downstairs with a bit of shuffling and extra rooms added upstairs, stairs could be blocked off to stop invasions, same goes for kitchen area.

Also I just saw Hecs house, mine is definitely non-awesome Sad
16  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: 155 thousand error messages and still going on: 2008 January 07, 22:20:13
This happened to mine, a couple of weeks latter my power supply died, got a newer, more powerful one and haven't had any graphics card error messages since.  I'd say your power supply isn't powerful enough for your graphics card.  If you google this error it seems to be a common problem.
17  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Second Seasons Patch is out.... on: 2007 June 14, 23:14:31
If the Ottomas' have already been added to your neighborhood but the twins haven't been born yet, it's possible to hack the pregnancy controller to point to the right father.  This was possible even pre-patch.  It does require some tedious mucking about in SimPE, however.

The patch doesn't seem to work if you have them in the game but not born yet, my twins were still born with the wrong parent, Brandi broke to be precise.
18  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: Wardrobe error and leftovers vanishing. on: 2007 March 03, 05:30:26
Is it a custom fridge/wardrobe, if so there's your answer they need updating.
19  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: substituting default pets with my own creations on: 2007 February 19, 15:18:44
You could rar the installers and unpack them with clean installer, that way the names won't mess up.
20  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Improved Body Shop lighting on: 2007 February 19, 10:22:03
you don't have to it in config, you can stick it in downloads and it works perfectly.
21  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: Why are my rugs looking like crap!? on: 2007 February 18, 06:39:02
Maxis rugs have always looked like that, that's why I never use them, I thought that was the way Maxis intended them to look Roll Eyes

Wow. I never would have guessed. I just figured most pple were young on account of this being a game site and all. Except for JMP of course...I always knew he was old.

Ha! well you see we ARE the first generation of gamers, you'll find us sat in the corner at the pub in years to come saying things " Argh when I was a young whippersnapper like you we had 128k spectrums and an Amiga 500, those were the days... they don't make 'em like they used to...."  Then we'll wander of in a senile daze   My hubby got me into compters, he's awesome (I wub my hubby too) and he understands my obsession as he's totally obsessed with Quake.  Zork was excellent, you can download it as freeware now, it was an RGP, I had all the series.

BTW I'm 36, Winter will be back I've been playing the Sims 1 & 2 long enough to have seen others like him come and go.
23  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Nightlife bugs on: 2005 September 30, 11:35:03
Is Maxis looking into the bug where cars get stuck on community lots? I've been asking everywhere for help and nobody's offering any. Is anyone else having this problem repeatedly like me? I've disabled all hacks until a sure-fire list of hacks that work has been come up with (I keep finding hacks on the current lists that cause game problems).

I'm having this problem too and I've only taken single sims downtown. I have 2 accounts one has a totally clean game, no custom content, hacks etc, the other has everything.  I'm having the same problem in both games.  Sims will drive to community lots, but when it's time to go home or to another lot there are "no actions available" with the car. I end up having to call a taxi to get them off the lot.  One thing I have noticed though, when they arrive home they are driving their own car again.
There have been a few posts about this at MTS2 too.
