2  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Secondary Aspirations borked? on: 2008 November 01, 00:22:20
Illuminated ones,

Recently I proceeded to install all of my sims games on this brand new machine. I have got all the Ep except Bon Voyage and only Celebrations SP.

Playing with a newly created CAS Sim, decided to give it Popularity Asp as primary aspiration and Family as secondary aspiration (gotta love chicken soup). Couldn't do it. My game does not 'know' about secondly aspirations: can't select, can't 'earn', can't do a thing.

All the others Free Time features are working fine (hobbies, parenting care, clothings, furniture etc).

Has this happened to anyone alse? What can I do to fix it?

HALP!1!!

tl, dr: Secondary Aspirations don't work. HALP.

Thank you! I have also found some other instructions that ought to be useful.
Awesome! Could you share with us?

Trees seem pretty self-extinguishing to me. I've always had the tree go out on its own. It doesn't even seem to negatively affect its health to be on FIRE. In any case, it's nothing to worry about. At least now there's a sensible reason why something is on fire, instead of the infamous Molotov Toaster Pastry.

What about the trellises, though? Or are we just to avoid using the darn things? (And which object(s) exactly are affected by the buggy invisible fire problem, again?)

and by trellis you mean that fence-with-bedflower pre-order gift for seasons, right? How does it get glitched? I have used these on several occasions and didn't notice anything unusual...

I assume it works for animals, too? Specially strays?
Also, does it work on long lost sims? ie, dead sims with no tombstone, no data file, unlinked etc aka royally borked?
In the the beginning of my sim days i used to delete sims via packaging the lot and deleting the lot from the lot bin. Yeah. Very unsafe, but we are talking about 2004 here. I still play this same neighborhood, and I really don't fancy the option "burninate the whole crap" a lot.  Sad , though the 1.400 inhabitants is getting to my nervers - and game play.

Amber, this is a terrific idea...it would be especially helpful to new creators, since there are any number of questions that are hard to find answers to, like the binning codes, etc. I am NOT the person to do it, since I don't know jack about it.

Thanks, and the thing is, these days there's utilities or SimPE plugins that can do practically everything I mentioned quickly and easily.  It would just be a matter of getting them into peoples' hands from the very beginning, along with the message "This is how this is done."

This is one of the cleverest idea of the history of the ideas. Granted, it won't be easy as the color bin campaign wasn't easy, but, eventually, more and more people will hear about it and adher to the cause, and even if the creator doesn't accessory bin their goodies, the downloaders will.
We just need to spread the word. Maybe creating a big, fat announcement on the main forums throughout the sim community?
I would gladly help this shiny plan to take off  Smiley

I would humbly suggest to begin setting the standards and writing an easy "how to update" for downloaders and another "what are the bin #'s" for creators.

I'm guessing it's the same procedure to update the canvas for OMGZPETZ!11!1 and the computer for University?

Using the fridge.package supplied by Jordi I could update easily... but how to I extract it... I mean, how do I extract the strings on my own? I followed Ms Barrows' tutorial to extract the strings and this thread's 'walk through' to update the canvas, but failed. So, umm, help?
